A week ago they were one of the hottest teams going around having gone 6-0 SU/ATS before having to play the Spurs in TX, Rockets at home and then the Wolves in Minny, in that span going 0-3 SU/ATS.

They are currently 1.5 games outside 8th seed in the East with games against the Raptors and Kings at home. Brown commented after the Wolves game that the games against the Spurs and Rockets really took the wind out of his team which led to the subpar performance against the Pups on Saturday night.

With the Raptors just coming off a win in nearly 3 weeks (you think they are still celebrating that win?) and the Kings who simply can't win on the road and against the Eastern conference, these next 2 home games are crucial IMO for the Bobcats to make a charge to their first post season.

Take a look at the Bobcats' ATS record against teams that were sub 0.500 at the time they played them since 1 Jan 2009

Now add to the fact that IMO these next 2 home against 2 sub 0.500 teams could elevate them into that #8 seed you have your answer.

Jan 2 @ Bucks  Lost  75 - 103   (+6.5) LOSS

Jan 3 v Bucks Won  102 - 92   (-1.5) WIN

Jan 10 @ Wizards Won  92 - 89  (+3.5) WIN

Jan 21 v Grizzlies Won  101 - 86   (-6) WIN

Jan 25 @ Pacers Lost  93 - 98  (+5) PUSH

Feb 9 v Clippers Won  94 - 73  (-1) WIN

Feb 11 v Wizards Won  101 - 89  (-8) WIN

Feb 18 v Pacers Won  103 - 94  (-5) WIN

Feb 25 @ Kings Won  98 - 91   (-3) WIN

Feb 27 @ Warriors Won  112 - 109  (+2) WIN

Mar 3 v Bulls Won  96 - 80  (-3) WIN

Mar 7 @ Knicks Won  114 - 105  (+3.5) WIN

Mar 14 @ T-Wolves Lost  100 - 108   (-5.5) LOSS

You can construe statistics anyway you want to suit yourself, people can accuse me of doing that with respect to the above but my point here is simple. The Bobcats are a team that when up against an opponent they are expected to be competitive against, actually follow through with it more often than not.

Provided the line is reasonable I will be all over the Bobcats tonight against a team that are probably still celebrating the fact that they won a game in nearly 3 weeks.

Great spot to take the bobcats for the next 2 home games, i hear what ur saying Rod and agree that the cats have put themselves into contention by playing well against the sub .500 sides. I'm sure the next two at home will be played with high intensity knowing what's at stake for the young side.

Love the bobcats for tomorrow, line set at 6 or less i'll be comfortable with and if higher i'll consider the moneyline.

raptors b2b after a convincing win with cats losing 3 in a row, line should be set at 4.5

yep agree on this rod I had a good look at the Raps yesterday favoring them to cover after that OT beatdown against the Pistons but its the raps you never know what theyre gonna do and when theyll bother showing up. I prefer bobs in this spot.

So....if they were set at 7, you'd be willing to lay -250 or so on the Cats?

Couldn't grab them at the opening number, think it matters little in the washup anyway

I wanted to play this, but damn. I don't think I want to lay that much. I'm not so sure they lay it down and blow 'em out. Good luck though.

Rod: I agree that the Cats will win this SU without question, but that's a lot of points to lay on a team that doesn't score that many to start with.

Both the ATS and the SU bets just don't add up for me. It's a difficult one to bet. Perhaps a 1st half bet, just hope that they are motivated from the start instead of starting slow and needing a reminder of how much the game matters at the half.
