Tipping is earned not a part of the service cost. That said, keep in mind that they are working a service job that is usually at low pay and tips are necessary to make  a good wage but it must still be earned.  Every nickel and dollar adds up  so those that don't make enough tips generally don' give good service.  To Insure Prompt Service - TIPS.

It's interesting that none of you thought her behavior was rude.  To make fun of ANY tip is unprofessional.  But I was fair to her stating that she appologized admitting that she shouldn't do that, thus ending the situation.  If you people think I'm cheap, so what,  I doubt I make as much as you do, so I'm bound to tip less as I have less income to tip.  I'm not ashamed about that and I don't brag either.

I live in Vegas and you are a cheap inconsiderate person.  If you dont have money to tip you probably should be in there gambling.

When you mop floors in Prison for .45 cents a day and get raped in the shower on a daily basis.  I would say you are being overpaid.

NEW YORK NEW YORK-- I was having a bad luck day.  I was playing the slots at NYNY and ordered a beer from the cocktail waitress (as long as you are gambling, the drinks are free in Vegas.  You don't have to tip the waitress, but most players do, me included).  She brought me my beer, I reached into my pocket and only had 45 cents, so I gave it to her.  She said, "Wow, a 20-cent tip!"  She was making fun of the tip I gave to her!" I immediately cashed out and ran her down.  In front of other customers, I reamed her for making fun of my tip, which was 45 cents, not the 20 cents she claimed.  She was embarrassed and she appologized for the indescression which was the right thing for her to do. The appology calmed me down and I went on my way, knowing that she had learned her lesson.  If you make a living off tips in Vegas, keep in mind some gamblers are down on their luck and may tip you little or nothing at all.  That doesn't mean they are tightwads.  But there are some people who don't tip at all.  That's just the nature of the game.

Example 2:  I was at the Aria Casino and went up to a bartender and asked him to switch the TV to a football game I had bet on.  Now keep in mind, they had 3 TV screens showing ESPN and other sports shows that nobody was watching.  I had even went into the sportsbook and asked the manager what sattellite channel the game was on so I could provide that info to to the bartender.  After doing so, the bartender told me to go watch the game in the sportsbook.  I was truly flabbergasted!  I could have taken the matter to a higher level, but by this time I was so displeased by the customer service in virturally all MGM resorts.  I no longer do business there, as their training program is shoddy.  Furthermore, when you go to the cashier in MGM resorts, they have no line markers, so it's every customer for themselves.  I've had many customers cut in front of me, usually I say something, but I get tired of having to do so.

Good Customer Service Story:  I was playing slots at the Wynn, which is probably the highest-class place in town.  I ordered a beer.  When the waitress brought it to me I realized I didn't have any money in my pocked, all my money (and it wasn't much) was in the slot machine.  I appoligized to the waitress for not being able to tip her.  She said with a smile on her face, "Don't worry about that.  Now get lucky and get some of your money back!"  And she said it so sincerely!  See, she was trained to appreciate tips but realize that people are gamling and might not be able to tip at all.  And I was playing a penny slot in a high-class joint, it didn't matter, she still treated me like I was a high roller.  I really like the treatment you get at the Wynn.  I also received good treatment from other employees there.

Any other stories?  Good or bad?

I always tip, comped drinks/food or purchased. You should not be playing or eating if you can't afford the tip.

Stay with me this might be lengthy! :)

Last night I received horrible service at the munch bar next to the poker room in Caesars about midnight. After a lonnnggg day of playing Baccarat, not winning at that :( . I was tired of the noodles and stuff they had available to the players so I ventured over to the other side of the casino for a nice" fattening bad for you" burger.

I proceed to the small bar area to get take out. I sit down next to this couple having a conversation with a menu in front of them. Mind you there is a girl and guy, workers having a conversation right there. I think to myself, maybe neither one of them is the bartender to take my order. I just sit and wait playing on my phone, look up a few scores. Then ask the couple next to me if I could look at their menu so that I could be ready to order if and when the person came.

I would say about 5-8 minutes waiting. The girl that was JUST in front of us finally acknowledges us! Here, I was waiting for the bartender to return and it was them the whole time that could take my order. She asks me am I ready to order? I ask the couple next to me if they had ordered, no surprise that was a no as well. I kinda mumbled under my breath "oh wow"  So I let them go first. She took their order and then walked away from me! We all laughed out loud at this point. I don't know what she needed to do that was so important to leave after their order and come back to me two minutes later? Anyways I got my order in finally..

I use to work in a fine dining restaurant back in my college days so I am all about service, no how big or small the restaurant. I don't expect water or a drink but it would of been nice to ask if we would like anything else or water to drink while we waited? am I wrong? Maybe even a hello or how are ya at the beginning? So I sit and wait as the guy and girl have their own personal conversation behind the bar totally ignoring us.

Finally after exactly 16 minutes, yes I timed. I was curious. She went back and checked on my food and came back with it. I'm like yes I can finally leave. She hands my the check, I had her my Diamond card and DL .. she says something under her breath huffing and puffing and then says to me why I didn't say to her that I was planning on using my rewards card to pay.. now she has to reprint a receipt .

Now, I am generally a patient quiet person. At this point I decided to say something. I told her "when would I have had a chance to say anything beside when you put in my order?" We haven't exchanged no more than two sentences since I've sat here... 15 minutes to order then another 16 for my food. I have been more than understanding and patient while you two had your own conversation.

She prints me a receipt to sign. I reach into my pocket pull out my knot of big bills, flip through them stop at the last bill act like I was going to ask to break it ... reach into my other pocket and give her the buck and change I had from earlier from my coffee and walked away. I was pissed at this point. Normally even with a comp meal ($20) I would of left at least 5-10 bucks for some of you flamers on this forum. But this made me smile and felt better about the whole situation as I walked away.

p.s. the burger and fries were delicious!

You are a cheap sob.  I worked in the industry for many years.  Do u realize they make $2.13 an hour and need you to think u are helping them out for 10 - 20 cents.  Just dont tip.  At least we wont think u r thelowest form of human slime. Also another tip.  Dont gamble. I dont think u could afford to lose.

That's totally understandable to leave a bad tip, or no tip, in that situation.

The server in Promark's story did her job in what seemed like a timely manner with courtesy until he shafted her on a tip.

I can tell you I go to Vegas at least 3 times a yr sometimes more I tip every single drink I knaow that makes them not free but they sure do get by more often way to often. I have been to New York NY and stay there usually for free I have never had anything but great service there as at the Aria becase they are part of the MGM I have stayed there as well did really good last time there and had great sevice there as well. I havent ever played in Wynn so I caant compare that. Tip always and often and they will treat you like a king I have had to keep lots of ones on me but if I hit a jackpot I will tip my waitress a 20 so that is all I got to say good luck next time remember keep tip money in a separate pocket and when you run low put more in. Good Luck in the future trips.

Promark, take your sorry a-ss and get the f_uck out of town. The last thing Vegas needs is another cheap low life like you. Pack your 12 year old boxers in a trash bag and stick your thumb out on the 15 and get lost.

Mark I live in Vegas. One thing I can assure you if you tip well they remember you and take care of you. You shouldn't have given her anything if it was going to be change. l gamble for a living here and have lived here for 4 years. But one thing I know is if you tip you get the better treatment.

Yo Porkman...

.45c tip: The best you could of done is to tell her, I dont have any cash but will come looking for you in a bit (even if you dont actually look for her in a while , I thinks its better then leaving .45 cent.)

In your defense, I been 3 times to vegas and by far the worst workers faces were at NYNY... I wasnt even having a bad day and some dealer looked so disintresed that I had to tell her " you really hate your job hey?" lol

I love the Aria and MGM grand and there is never a problem at PH

The best part about the entire story was in his correcting of her when she says it was 20 cents, not 45, like that matters.  the nerve of that dumb girl, it was actually 45 cents, she missed an ENTIRE QUARTER!  Newsflash my dude, if you barely give her enough to buy gum from a machine, its more embarrassing to you to point out that she thought it was the wrong amount.  Her missing a nickel or 2 is irrelevant if you didn't even leave her enough to buy a newspaper the next day.

UPDATE FROM PROMARK IS A TIGHTWAD CENTRAL

POOBA:  Attention followers.  As you know it is our specific mission to continue to bring forth the issue of Promark's cheapness.  We must toss and turn at night, thinking of a hundred different ways to say the same thing, and hope that it gets under Promark's skin.  We must employ friends and family!  Get them to register with covers so that way we can make Promark feel lower than low.  After all, this is what we were born to do.  So go out there and do it!

AGENT 101:  Hey, Promark doesn't have a job, at least we do!  Our job is to degrade him until he, well I don't know what it is he will do, but we'll keep doing what we do, which is to think of a hundred diffferent ways to say the same thing.

AGENT 182:  Yeah, when I'm at work, and I'm supposed to be concentrating, all I can think about is how to get Promark!  I don't have a problem, I'm perfectly normal and secure with who I am . . .

AGENT 46:  I too think of Promark when I'm at work, and I have to admit it, I thought of Promark when I was having sex.  My girlfriend asked, "are you having another Promark moment?"  I have to admit it, I was.

AGENT 61:  I'm not as bad as the rest of you, I only agonize over Promark less than 50 times a day.  I have almost completely recovered.

AGENT 255:  I'm just glad that we have captivated legions of followers.  This story just keeps on giving.  I'm totally within myself and proud to be a team member.

TO BE CONTINUED . . .

Do you have: PRO MARK obSESSION (PMS)

If you would beg family or friends to join covers to slam ProMark

You think people who are not on meds really want to get ProMark as bad as you do . . .

It is very important to stress any ProMark fault, no matter how small?  Leave no stone unturned . .

The need to remind others what ProMark did wrong just in case they didnt get it the first time or the second time or the 146th time . . .

The disgusting feeling you feel inside when you realize ProMark actually likes all this attention.

The need to make ProMark feel unworthy even though you are the one with obsessive conditions.

YEP, YOU JUST MAY HAVE PRO MARK obSESSION (PMS)
