I am flying out to Vegas for the first weekend of nfl season and had a few questions. First how do you handle cash on the flight? Im taking 5-6 thousand in cash on the flight and hopefully doubling up in Vegas betting on football so what about on the way back flight? Also do they allow m/l parlays? Does every hotel have a sports betting place in it? Last thing, can you wear a backpack into the sports betting bar for your money to be in, just curious how people carry 5-10 thousand in cash in their pocket? Thanks, I appreciate any help.

1. carry your cash with you at all times & don't take your eyes off your bag

2. you can do moneyline parlays

3. not every hotel has a sportsbook, but most of the major ones do.

4. Not sure about the backpack, but shouldn't be a problem.

GL!!!

ok so I just researched banks and the city I live in now and las vegas has the same bank branch. Shouldnt I open up a checking acct with the bank and withdraw the money when I get to Vegas from my bank instead of worrying about flying with a lot of cash? It wouldnt be a problem withdrawing 5000 from the teller when i get to vegas should it?

to do a 5k withdrawl, you will probably need to do a POS debit which has about a $30 fee.  I could be wrong though.  Hopefully you get some more answers

Five thousand cash (100's) is about as big as a cheeseburger.Put a rubberband around it and put it in your pants pocket. Its not illegal to have 5000 dollars.

SECBEST,

I travel often with my job. I live in Vegas part-time and also on the East Coast. Due to my line of work, I stay very active, and am unable to stay in one place full-time. My place in Vegas is rented out.

I can answer all of your questions.

First how do you handle cash on the flight?

Have a carry on. Put the money in your carry on, not on you, and you should be fine. I had three days off of work, so on the July 30th, I flew to Vegas from the East Coast, I carried exactly 10k with me, and I had it in my carry on. It was in the back pocket of the extra pair of blue jeans that I had and the jeans were obviously folded up in my bag.

I placed a $10k wager on the Cards to beat the Rockies on the 31st. The Cards won, I cashed out, and used 2k to play roulette at the Bellagio. I won 1k doing that after sticking to my system. On the 1st is when I departed. I stopped by Bailey's to bet 1k on roulette and I lost that on one spin.

I already had my carry on packed with $16,407.40 in the back pocket of a spare pair of jeans. 1k was in my pocket to play at Baileys, but I lost, however, if I had won, I would have simply went to the bathroom, and placed the money in the jean pocket in my carry on.

Having the cash on you is stupid as hell. You must place it in the bucket, so the scanner can scan all of your items, and airports now have machines that scan your entire body for any items. I suggest doing what I do so no problems will occur.

Also, your carry on needs to only have your cloths in it, and things that won't cause your bag to be checked. The pair of jeans with the money in it needs to be at the bottom of your luggage, have your toothpaste, and any liquid items out in a plastic bag (or whatever) so they can be scanned in the bucket separately.

Also do they allow m/l parlays?

You can do m/l parlays. Be sure to shop around for the best lines.

Does every hotel have a sports betting place in it?

For the most part. The large ones do, many of the small hotels do as well, but you should be able to figure it out on your own. This won't be much of an issue.

Last thing, can you wear a backpack into the sports betting bar for your money to be in, just curious how people carry 5-10 thousand in cash in their pocket?

Safety first. I would probably not walk around with a backup on. I walked around with the $10k that I took before placing my wager. At the Bellagio (separate location compared to the wager I placed), I had the $17,407.40 in my front pocket. I've walked around with much more during the past, but I never care to always have it on my at all times.

thanks vegassound, that was very helpful. Will the sports place have nfl ticket where i can watch all the games, just curious do yall sit there and watch the games and then hopefully go cash your tix? How expensive is food at these places, should i get a players card and how will a 5,000 bet effect my players card or will it; or what could my comp possibly be?

Yes, these sports books will have every game you want to watch.

Food in the sports books (usually deli's) ranges from 6-16 bucks or so....

Yes get a players card...if you are a placing a 5k wager I'm sure it will definitely do something for you...not sure what though.

I have sat around to watch the games. I keep to myself, no matter how much I win or lose, my emotions are ice cold at this point. I find it annoying when the loud fan is yelling or clapping all the time. The Las Vegas Hilton has a Deli and they offer a wide variety of choices. If you want the comps to add up, I suggest focusing on one book (LVH or Palms). Those are the two I typically use when I want comps to add up for family members or friends who come into town. The comp money or points won't be enough to be relevant as long as you are cashing out big tickets.  If you are betting 5k, I can assure, that you're going to be asked if you have a players card. Be prepared to eventually fill out paperwork once you cash out a decent priced ticket.

Sign-up for a Harrah's players card as well. I'm not suggesting that you should use their book, but do so for a couple wagers, because they'll offer you great rates on rooms eventually by email. They typically offer two nights free at the Imperial Palace once you have some history with them.

When I placed my Cards wager, I was told the max was $5k, so I was only able to go with that at first, but after they counted my money, printed the ticket, the book manager decided to let me wager the full 10k. So, I ended up with two tickets, but had they not allowed it, I would have just gone to another book to wager the rest of the money.

First, you want to bet 5dimes on a game?....yes, get a player's card....not for any comps (there won't be any); but to show the sportsbook that you are "known" to the casino.

Second, if you do not show that you care about the cash that you are carrying in Vegas, then no one else will care either. Your concern seems misplaced.....there are more crooks looking to steal chips at a craps table then those who want to put their hands in your pants.

It depends on what you're trying to get out of it. You need to shop the lines at different casinos and you can do that online. That makes all the difference in the payout at times.

As far as the player card goes, if you want ANY comps, you must wager at the casinos that offer them (no brainer). You won't receive any comps with the "M Life" card.

Since you're not sure about your hotel situation, you must figure that out, and transportation. What hotels are you leaning towards?

When I used Wells Fargo, I would go to the one off East Flamingo Road, and it's a few miles from the strip. If you take the bus it will be on your left shortly after the Target.
