I have been going to the Orleans since they opened in 1996. They have been charging a resort fee for the last several years, which is now up to $6 a day. On the card they give you, one of the most egregious reasons they assert for charging this fee is "free parking". Can you believe this? No casino charges for parking on the strip or off strip. What if you take a shuttle or cab to the Orleans. Will they give you a reduced resort fee. Vegas is becoming like those airlines that charge you for a bottle of water or for carrying on a bag. Soon, the Orleans will justify the resort fee by stating they give you "free" toilet paper in the bathroom. The Orleans is a great place but this fee is purely greed at its worst. What a bunch of horseshit.

Find another place to stay at. There are plenty with no fees and free internet.
I had some family come into town once so I put them in the Luxor and it was $16 per day. Never again will I do that.

The Orleans is the easiest hotel to get comp rooms from, and then they remove the fee.

VegasTripping has a list of who does and who doesn't charge resort fees, though it needs to be updated because I know Mandalay Bay now charges $22.40, not $20.16 as listed. Note the Harrahs-owned resorts do not charge the fees, which is moot to me because I much, much prefer the MGM-owned resorts. Like you care about that.
