There are no comps in this town for anyone who bets that small an amount........You can have free drinks at some books, Bellagio for one....but you cannot get anything else....
Comping of sports bets, is for the most part (some locals notwithstanding) non-existent in Vegas..... |

Where did you here this? I find this very hard to believe. I was JUST there, I bet alot more than that & they said all they could give was 4 drink tickets. |

I don't know the policy at the Cosmo, but when I was there for the Final Four Saturday (specifically, I sat at the bar near the betting station on the lower level, not the actual sportsbook on the second level), the bartender "comped" my Pabst Blue Ribbon (the official libation of hipster douchebags, but I was drinking it ironically, so that's okay) by taking my betting ticket--I think it was a $165 bet on VCU--and initialing it. I was stammering "um, um, how does this get registered?" She cast her eyes up at the ceiling as if the "eye in the sky" was noting it. However it works, I was obviously fine with it.
But before that, when I bet the game at the register, I didn't ask for any drink tickets because I've kinda concluded that they're not offered anymore. In general, it seems the benefit of drink comps in sportsbooks is drawing its last breaths. Does it suck? Yeah. I've lamented, well, bitched, that certain ones don't offer them at all anymore (like M Resort). But the setup at the M book more than makes up for the lack of any comps like that, so I continue to go there, for the most part, when I'm in Vegas.
But those that did allude to those that still offer drink tickets shouldn't be surprised to see them fade into Vegas lore within a couple of years.

Like at southpoint you get like $1 for every $500 bet on sports you get $1 for every $12 on horses tables and slots you get different amounts. Slots at south point are like $3 for every $100 NOt sure what tables pay. The bigger strip casinos offer less. To get any real comp betting sports you have to bet alot and for awhile.

Such a shame. I wish MGM never sold TI to Phil Ruffin. I once took alot of flak for being an unapologetic TI apostle. I went there on a whim in 2006 and absolutely loved it. Clean. Ambient. Classy, not pretentious. Pleasant staff. Great, simple buffet and nice array of restaurants. Comfortable, though small sportsbook.
I got alot of comps in those days (2006 to 2008). Once when I hit a big parlay in football, later that night I hit the high limit room and played $100 blackjack (by the way, I'm embarrassed to admit I once played $100 blackjack hands, today I hang out with the dregs at the $10 tables). Anyway, I left "up", didn't lose, and a couple of weeks later I got on offer for two free nights (any night including weekends, which I did use on a Fri and Sat) and $250 free play. Maybe they sensed I was a degenerate willing to piss away money in the high limit room.
Anyway, over the next several years, I continued to get decent comps though I was playing the lower limit tables. But ever since Phil Ruffin (who once ran the New Frontier before selling the property at the height of the real estate bubble) took over, I get maybe one offer a year and it's a room Monday - Thursday at a reduced rate and some kind of small casino credit.
Ruffin decided to go more "middle market", and from what a Pai Gow Poker dealer at the M told me, the dealers at TI have seen their tips slide over the past couple of years as more and more high limit players have fled. Not that TI was ever a magnet for them, but there were many people who played the $25 BJ tables and those have declined. Oh, and supposedly, Ruffin's young Ukrainian beauty queen wife terrorizes the staff.
Sorry for the verbosity, but I really had an affection for that place and it's sad MGM (I'm sure reluctantly) sold it because they needed the cash to complete City Center.

I've been going to Vegas since 2004 (I live in LA) and this past Saturday was the first time I ever set foot in Southpoint, basically because it was 3 in the morning (actually Sunday) and since they have a 24-hour sportsbook, I needed to get my NFL bets in, knowing I may oversleep the 10AM kickoffs.
I was surprised to see so much activity at that wee hour. There were six or seven people in line in front of me. I didn't ask for drink tickets, but the cashier gave me two (I bet around $480 for 5 games).

I recently bet $9,500 at the Hilton and I received 65 points for it. I tend to use my comps on family and friends for when they visit since it saves them money on food and other activities.
What I like about the Palms is that they have so many different options you can use your points on.
