My first post on Covers in about 5 years. I was around with "getliquid & buddywright" (Been handicapping pretty strong though). Vegas is my favorite city so I will contribute 2 the thread.

Celebrity Encounters: Darn near everyone. I go to all major fights, went 4 the Jay-Z/Mary J Blige Concert, and for the NBA Allstar game. To name a few:
Charles Barkley- crashed our VIP section cuz some guys brought in a table for him & place it directly in front of our VIP booth. He was with three white women. I believe one was his wife cuz she had a boulder on her finger.
Sugar Shane Mosely- My homeboy I was with is about 6-5 250 & a thug. We were staying at The Hotel in Mandalay Bay for the BHop & Winky Wright fight (which cost me $5,000 on Winky. He was cheated) & my boys wife came out of the room first with a real short skirt on. By the time he came out Sugar shane was trying 2pick up his old lady. He claims he was 2seconds off his behind but I try 2tell him that he still COULD NOT take sugar shane (now in an elevator he would have a good chance)
Magic Johnson- Shook my hand while walking through studio 54 club in MGM. Magic & Iverson were throwing the party. Months later, I was at some club in The Hotel that my VIP host set me up with a comp table. So my wife & I went in. Only 2 realize that there was "another" VIP also. So we went back there & I see Magic behind the velvet rope with about 30 people. I tried my best 2get back there, offering 2 pay bribes & everything but nothin worked. This is the only time I have "sweated" anybody, only cuz Magic is my all-time favorite player.

Wille Gary-Billionaire Lawyer (if you don't know who he is look him up) I met him walking though MGM with 4 ladies around him NBA Allstar weekend. He had on nice crocodile shoes. We chatted about 3 min cuz I was the only person that recognized who he was out of everybody (& he was probably the richest dude in the damn joint lol)

Allan Houston-walked though the airport 2gether

Steve Francis- My game is roulette only & I only bet colors (200-2500 per roll just depends on my feeling. I have no system or strategy). So Im doing my thing & over my left shoulder is a high Franchise with like two homeboys. He says "my wife told me 2 bet on red" I said "well Im doing whatever you doin". So he bet 500 on red & I followed him & we both won. He then gave me dap & then said "I gonna buy a bottle at the Jay-Z party with this". Saw me in Forum Shops at Ceasars Palace the next day and screamed out "Yo" & put his hand up (cuz he didnt know my name). I put my hand up also.

Stephon Marbury-talked garbage 2 him by slapping 5k on the floor while sitting courtside a preseason game in South Carolina. I told him I heard he likes to play cards & roll dice so he can play with us. He looked over & smiled & shook his head.

Suge Knight-Seen him many times

Clinton Portis/Wills McGhee- I lost a $100 bet cuz I said thats clinton portis & my homeboy said no, I said bet a hundred. We went over & he said he was not clinton portis & at that very moment I knew it was willis McGhee & I felt stupid cuz I know how they both look I was just thinking wrong for some reason.

Scottie Pippen/Gary Payton- Graciously took pictures with my wife at a fight.

Shaun Alexander-sat next to him at Winky Wright/Bernard Hopkins

CRAZIEST THING EVER SEEN: Walking into MGM i said "man it's alot of people at that craps table". My partner who is probably 6'6 said thats roulette I said no way its too many people around cheering & stuff. As we get closer there is a dude, I'll never forget, mid 50's white guy, salt pepper hair, black t-shirt & jeans, solid gold presidential rolex no diamonds. This dude was playing roulette in the middle of everyone, but he had a special table roped off 2 himself. HE WAS BETTING 125,000 PER SPIN AT THE ROULETTE WHEEL. This what he was doing. There are 35 #s on the wheel, he was covering like 30 of the 35 #s in the field at like 4 grand per #. Each time he hits it pays 36 to 1 odds. Everytime he would win he would send out a round of patron & pinapple or cranberry for a crowd of like 150-200 people just standing in amazement. Im not gonna lie I stood about 7 or 8 minutes then left out of amazement & disgust that someone has the $ to bet like that & also I left to try to get me sum $$. I quickly won $2600 at another roulette table in the corner.

got more but tired of typing... I hope all u guys win.

Very entertaining stories and a good read.  However I play roulette from time to time too.  Two things are wrong in your last story.  There are 38 numbers not 35 on a wheel in Vegas: 1-36 and 0 and 00.  Also, the pay out is 35-1, not 36-1.

Ive only been to Vegas 3 times I think...only celebs I saw outside of seeing poker people was Jason Kidd at the Wynn. He was playing 1-200 a hand in BJ...couple of hands at a time.

I watched him play like a P*ssy and not hit on 16's against a dealter showing 7+...he lost

This is my first ever post. I enjoy reading all the stories and found one I could finally contribute on. We had always booked our Vegas trips about a year in advance and had ours booked back in 1995 (I think) when it came out that Tyson was fighting his first bout since his release from jail against Peter Mcneely. We were booked in the Mirage and the match was scheduled for the Saturday night that we were there. It was absolutely amazing all the people we saw in a 36 hour period.  We saw (in no particular order) Tori Spelling, Will Smith, Magic Johnson, Michael Jordan and probably most entertaining of the bunch. Dennis Rodman standing at a craps table with four women hanging on him like a cheap suit and a pile of chips in front of him that was about a foot and a half high. He wasn't even bothering to rack them, he would just scoop them into a pile behind the pass line when he won and keep on shooting. Early Sunday morning we went over to the Luxor and there stood Snoop Dogg shooting dice surrounded by some scary looking individuals (they claim he had been there all night). Playing very small stakes though, not like Rodman who was wagering enough to buy a nice car with.
On a side note last July on our annual trip to Vegas, we usually fly in and out of Detroit as was the case this trip and our flight was delayed two hours leaving Vegas.  Well on our plane was none other than Rasheed Wallace and I'm assuming his wife (or maybe girlfriend, I don't know if he's married and don't really care) because he was without a doubt the single biggest fool I have ever interacted with in my life. Wouldn't answer anyone that addressed him and that included airline employees, he made her do all the talking. He sat there with headphones on, head down cap pulled over his eyes, scowling at anyone tht dare look in his direction, and about ran two little kids over at Detroit Metro beacause they had the audacity to say hi to him. I can't think of anyone who deserves to blow an ankle more.

Another add on: In Atlantic City about a year ago a wise guy I was talking 2 at the black jack table (I wasn't playin, my homeboy was at the big boy table with him, I was just standing. I only play rouletee & sportsbet) said that Walt "Clyde" Frazier used to "do business" with he and his homeboys waaay back!!!

John Abraham (franchise player Atlanta Falcons): I personally beat him out of $1000 shooting pool. Background: Im from S.C & so is he. He's always in columbia & we see eachother all the time n clubs & stuff & have mutual acquaintences. Anyway, a mutual friend hooked us up & vouched for me that I was a good dude & had the money & wasn't going to try to rob him or something. So I only got like 2grand on me. But this dude is like a 60million dollar guy plus he's like 6'5 (im 5'9) and I didn't know what kind of stakes he wants 2 play for (I didn't know his skill level & I don't care what anyone says, HEIGHT, is an advantage shooting pool). So, I called a partner of mine & told him what was going down & 2 come to the bar & watch & bring $5,000 to have on standby & of course if i lose, I would reimburse. We shot 8ball. Long story short,  he broke the balls, dropped one ball & made one after the break. I then got to the table & ran four balls b4 missing. He then missed a bank cross-side. I ran out. game was $500. Next game, I broke & dropped one high ball. I then ran all the balls except the 9. He made a ball or two & then ran out & won. I'm now up a stack (slang term for thousand) & am feeling like he's a friggin sweet cake. He then extends his hand gives me a pound & says good game & jokes that he should bring me to the ATL for the summer 2 bet sum team-mates & he would back me. Then he quit. Til this day, everybody says that I "played too strong" or "I should have let him win a game or two". I'm like no way darn that, not when he got so much $ that he could raise the bet 2 the point where I'm uncomfortable at any point & I don't know his skill level. But hindsight is 20/20.

MICHAEL JORDAN: Here goes it!! An acquaintance of an acquaintance from Greenville, SC beat MJ out of about 250k on the golf course about 2004 or 2005. So, I told some people about the score. So a good friend of mine, Martin Roache (google him he was the black college golf champion two times in a row in like 1994 &1995) wanted to play MJ & said he could win if he could raise the $$. So I put out a couple of calls & the bottom line is that we thought Martin could win in just a round for fun, but GAMBLING, and playing for say 10k per hole (when he's not a gambler) is another animal & I backed off of it. Let me tell u how I would have linked it up with MJ.  After Martin failed 2 make the PGA tour, he took his $$ & started throwin parties. We are in SC. The main party guy in Charlotte, NC is a guy named Adolph Shiver (who longtime rumor has it is an old friend of MJ & MJ gave him startup $$ back in the day) Martin & Adolph were cool cuz of the parties & club connection. So, we would have used Adolph to arrange the match & my back up was to try to reach the acquaintance of an acquaintance.................

Been to Vegas about 10 times, finally saw some celebs last time...  got to vegas on July 11, night of UFC100.  The flight got in around 10pm, after dropping off the luggage, my wife and I went straight towards mandalay bay... in luxor I saw Bobby Lashley and got a pic with him, right by Liquidity.  In Mandalay I saw a crowd around someone so I went to investigate... it was Floyd Mayweather Sr taking pics with fans so of course I got one too, both of us with one fist up.  Also saw Dante Culpepper in mandalay as well.

I hugged Jill Kelly during the tourney a few years ago. Was staying at Palms, it was during the day on our way to the book. She was walking towards us with two dudes, just like normal I noticed big breast and a blonde, but this girl was actually wearing a shirt that said "Kelly". I think it was her website. As she got closer and I saw her face, it clicked. I just stopped and asked if I could get a quick hug, she obliged, and we went our ways. No conversation. Our relationship is strictly physical.

Played craps with Joey Porter at the Palms...  he rolled his behind off and yelled "4 - 5!" every time he rolled.  Passed like 6 times.  At one point, he grabs my chips by accident, looks down at them, sees a bunch of red and green and realizes they aren't his (his chips were more of the black and purple variety!) He's like "oh, my bad!" and I was like, you just keep rolling Joey!

In an unrelated story, if you like girls, the Palms is 2nd to none

oh  by he way, good thread

my only contribution:  a few years ago we run into TO somewhere in a casino on the strip.  He was wearing a ridiculously loud powder blue sweatsuit.

My brother runs up to him excitedly and says:  "Aren';t you Terrell (pronounces it tuh-RELL) Owens?"

TO (angrily):  "It's TERR-ell" and walks away

Partied it up with Mike Tyson in Vegas. Blacked out and went to his home where me and some buddies stole his pet tiger. Him and his friend waited for us in our suite, where he was playing the piano...he the proceeded to knock out my friend in one punch.

Steven A. Smith: Saw him at about 3:30am, as I was leaving, standing outside of a hotel club, pissed off cuz he couldnt get n as fast as he wanted. (Ice cube & Damon Jones were n this party too) We ended up at this spot by default because the Tracy McGrady/P.Diddy Party WAS NOT letting anybody else n I dont care how much $$ u had. The dudes Hell my crew as 4 deep & we had a combined 60k on us. This was NBA All-Star game.
