YTD: 0-1

The good news about losing a cover by about 5 touchdowns is there is nowhere to go but up.

Montreal -6.5

Montreal was embarrassed last week. They were manhandled on both sides of the ball and looked flat and lethargic. This team is too experienced and too well-coached to come out and lay another egg. I'm almost certain this team is going to come out hungry and energized in this game. Maybe it won't be enough because they really have slipped? That's a fair question and I guess we shall see. However going out on the road against a good offense with a new defense wasn't really a good place for this Als D last week and it showed. Now back at home against a much weaker Winnipeg offense I think they will be much, much better. The Als offense also looked woefully out of sync last week. Calvillo only threw 10 passes with this group in the preseason which was strange considering this is a timing and rhythm based offense. This should be more in-sync here this week at home.

I said last week I thought it was going to be a disastrous year in Winnipeg and I saw nothing in Week 1 that made my rethink that thought. This offense has a serious lack of playmakers and Bucky is already playing with a bum knee. The defense played pretty well last week and yet they still collapsed late and gave up 33 points because the offense couldn't stay on the field.

Maybe Montreal aren't as good as they have been in the past but historically this is a spot they have come out and laid the wood to teams, especially weak teams like Winnipeg. If they falter here then I guess they really are just a mediocre team now.

with you 100% i was gonna make a similar write up. MTL is the play here. I am from Winnipeg and things are looking very bleek this year. First off the new stadium wasn't done on time, second off Chris Garett the Bombers 1st string RB got injured days before the season started in practice, now Buck Pierce is out. I dont know why there is som much love for my Bombers in this spot??

Al's Big play here.
35-21Mtl

Also probably gonna parlay B.C-3, with MTL ML

Good Luck Bro!

I agree with those points. I don't think I've really said why I think it will be a bad year in Winnipeg yet but there are a plethora of reasons. First of all this team lost a bunch of players from last year and basically did nothing in free agency to keep them. Some veterans also retired like Doug Brown and Havi Khan. I think the team will miss a lot of the veteran leaders they had last year. Secondly, when this team was bleeding players in free agency several players were very unhappy about it and a couple took to twitter to rip the GM and Head Coach. Apologies were issued (and I'm not sure but I think a couple were fined) but that is still an issue that is going to create animosity in the long run as long as everyone is still there. Then, like you mention, there is the stadium issue. This was supposed to be an exciting year with a new stadium but it has been plagued with delays and just before the season they announced they will have to play the whole year in the old dump. Now they are forced to play their 1st 4 games on the road (in 26 days) for nothing, when before it was to give the new stadium more time. Then losing their most promising offensive player in Chris Garrett right before Game 1 was another huge blow.

When you have lost the amount of talent that they have and couple it with just what I see as negative energy around the team resulting from other situations I can't help but see a bad season coming (at least a bad start).

The latest on Pierce and I'm taking this from TSN is that he is questionable on will probably start, Brink will step in when the linesmen stop the game and scrap Pierce off the field.Pierce not a bad QB when healthy will probably end being a poster boy for concussions and head related injuries.

The Under looks very promising, I think its going to take Cavillo and company a while to get its renown offence to get up and running. Anyone who witnessed last weeks debacle against the Stamps saw the Als play one of their worst games in memory. Remember the season is not a sprint but a marathon.

GL MAC

I see the line went down a little. It was cruising at 7 for almost the entire week. I'm not sure who'll start, there have been conflicting reports.
If Montreal jumps out to 10-0 lead the Bombers once again will  abandon the run.
Did you watch last weeks game. The first play of the game was a designed QB draw for Pierce. How pathetic. No remorse for Buck.
Who's calling the plays?????
