Edmonton @ Saskatchewan... line has opened around Sask -7....this is a classic betting conundrum.
Even if both teams were healthy, one would make Saskatchewan prohibitive favorites in this game. Start with home field advantage, add in a defense that has held 5 of 7 opponents to 14 points or fewer this season and ranks # 1 in virtually every CFL defensive category. Furthermore, consider it was just three weeks ago that Sask applied a savage 54-14 beatdown of the Eskimos AND now add in the fact that Edmonton is ABSOLUTELY DECIMATED BY INJURIES (8 starters will either miss the game entirely or play hurt) and will also be without their inspirational leader on defense (LB A.J. Gass due to suspension)
You really have to ask yourself one very simple question, "WHY IS THIS LINE ONLY 6.5 OR 7????????" At a minimum, this line should be 10 and quite frankly it would need to be 12 or 13 before I would even flinch or think twice about unloading on Saskatchewan.
The line on this game is really fishy! In fact, it reeks! I usually don't buy into the notion of "trap games", but something is wrong here. It's just wayyyyyyyyy too easy!!! Hell, Sask - 6.5 or 7 SHOULD BE THE HALFTIME LINE!! 6.5 OR 7 FOR THE ENTIRE GAME IS A FREAKIN' JOKE!! And yet, as I have learned many times in the past, these offshore or Vegas oddsmakers aren't idiots. They are not in the habit of giving away free money! They generally know what they are doing.
Even though I really, really, really, really, really like Saskatchewan here at what seems like an absolute gift line, I'm going to heed the First Rule of Sports Wagering...IF IT SEEMS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE, IT PROBABLY IS!!!
I don't know if I can stay away entirely...it's just too tempting. But I'll just touch the game lightly, I'm definitely NOT gonna hammer it... because my gut tells me something just ain't right....

B.C. @ Calgary.... although not as blatantly fishy as the Edm-Sask line, why in hell are the Lions 2.5 pt dogs in this game????? Again, it was just three weeks ago when B.C. beat the Stamps in Calgary 32-27 as 2.5 pt dogs. Awfully tough to beat a team in their own backyard twice in the same season, let alone a three week span!
iI'm just not convinced this is a slam dunk for the Lions. Although they are getting healthier (LB Otis Floyd played last week, DB Korey Banks returns this week), the Lions are still a very beat-up team. Floyd as an example, is playing but he's probably only 75-80% physically, which limits his effectiveness. QB Buck Pierce played last week vs. Winnipeg, but clearly wasn't anywhere near 100% and his effectiveness was definitely compromised (and will be again this week as his "Turf Toe" injury continues to bother him although not to the extent where he can't play). Pierce, by the way, apart from Toronto's Rocky Butler, has the CFL's worst QB rating (74.4) amongst current starters.
The Stampeders are no friggin' bargain themselves, but they generally are a tougher team to deal with at home than on the road. That said, I think their chances of winning depend on what kind of performance they get from QB Henry Burris.
Good Henry (like the one that showed up two weeks ago vs. Edmonton) and they probably win. Bad Henry (like the one that showed up last week in Montreal) and they probably lose. Basically, it's a coin flip as to which Henry shows up....
My advice would be to proceed carefully this week...Again, keep in mind the old betting maxim, "IF IT'S TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE......."
