1. Browns - 29
2. Ravens - 32
3. Saints - 41
4. Broncos - 50
5. Seahawks - 56
6. Packers - 56
7. Buccaneers - 57
8. Steelers - 58
9. Jets - 61
10. Texans - 63

Which of these do you trust the least? Which do you think will translate into the regular season?

Totally meaninglees, most teams played first team offenses for first quarter or less, watch how many points Browns give up to Steelers Sunday and this idea of yours will die quietly.....

This is excellent! Thanks for posting!

On your list I think the Texans and Saints will translate the best to the regular season.

The Chicago Bears 1st team defense allowed only 1 TD in three preseason games. I think they will play well in Week One.

Trust the least? Jets, Browns and maybe the Bucs and Saints..

Teams that have known reputation for their defense will continue to prove it in the regular season despite good or bad preseason results..

Seahawks, Ravens, Broncos will continue to be monsters defensively.

What "idea"? Do you not know how to read? I'm asking which are legit and which are smoke and mirrors.

FWIW last year (2016) top 10 Preseason D points given up:

1. Philly: 38
2. Packers: 50
3. Chiefs: 52
4,5. Titans, Ravens: 60
6,7 Vikes, Falcons: 62
8,9 Texans Panthers: 63
10. Skins, jets, Bengals: 70

Don't think there's really any correlation btwn preseason D and regular season D.  That being said, only giving up 29 points is a semi-impressive feat and could be significant...

preseason stats, defense, or offense, carry no justified weight going into the regular season of play, they have no merit whatsoever, especially using a marginal PA system to pass any form of judgement...to each his own, just saying

what you see in preseason (an exhibition, a contained scrimmage)  is not what you get in week #1, it's not a capping tool (using preseason stats per say)

I'll admit, the Browns D does look better on paper (Garrett, Peppers, McCourty added), but the Steelers will likely equal or surpass the 29 pts they gave up all preseason in wk1

Also, even if the preseason games were "legit" it really is too small sample size to have any meaning at all.....
