The public is acting like the Ravens are some kind of juggernaut. They aren't. They need help to make the playoffs and there is no way 100% of their focus is on this Browns team that nearly beat them earlier this year. I don't care what they say, they have other opponents they are facing today and they'll be following them on the big screen.
I use ESPN gameday to get the scoop on what the public is being fed at the trough. All I hear is Gordon's out, Manziel fined, Gordon's got substance abuse issues (one day C. Carter is gonna get sued) and the Ravens wont be scoreboard watching. I'll buy on bad news and sell on good.
64% of public money on the Ravens -13. Really? This isn't college football and the difference in talent between these two teams is not 13 points. I don't care that Connor Shaw is the quarterback. He outperformed both Hoyer and Manziel in the preseason and I have no doubt he will be comfortable with whatever limited package the coaching staff supplies him with.
Not to mention these fines and suspensions the Browns are handing out are gonna send a message to the 53 men on that roster. You come to perform or you'll be auditioning for another team. I expect this team to rise to the challenge and ruin the playoff hopes for their division rivals on the road.
The Ravens are as square a bet as you'll find this weekend. Give me the Browns +14 with a nice chunk of change on the +800 ML.
I don't do write ups often but I simply couldn't resist with this one.

More ESPN anti-Browns noise. This time to declare that rookie CB Justin Gilbert has been declared inactive for being late to a meeting.
Big deal. Dude's a scrub and has been called out in the media earlier this week by Dansby and Whitner.
I believe the veterans on this team will rally the rest to fight for a win this Sunday. All we ever hear about the Browns is when they are talking about these rookies or the oft suspended Gordon. I think this team, especially this defense led by Haden, Dansby and Whitner want to send a message that this Browns football team is more than two 1st round busts and a drug addict.
Every 30 minutes it seems ESPN is giving more incentive to continue to pile on this ML.

He only played TWO series in the entire pre-season. What are you talking about?? He did not play in the 1st, 3rd, or 4th game. He saw time in the 4th quarter of the Redskin game vs. what I'm sure were a bunch of Skin scrub defenders.
I'm not saying the Browns can't stay within two TDs here, but to blatantly be ignorant of who their QB is and then trying to make up an false angle to back that up is silly.
BOL with the play, I think the ML is burning money, but you never know. I'd be shocked if Ravens lose SU though. Too many intangibles to make a side for taking the game ATS for me.

um CONNOR SHAW QB starts for browns Ravens will decimate that kid soory you lost your wager dude
That's why they play the game.
So Connor Shaw is starting? That's fine. He was in the SEC with JFF last year and outperformed him throwing the football without an NFL left tackle and WR to fall back on for support. I don't believe the dropoff from Hoyer to Manziel to Shaw is that great. In fact I believe the rookie may be an upgrade, but we'll find that out @ 1:00.
I do believe in West and Crowell and their ability to keep this game within reach and to keep the pressure off the young quarterback.
But what I believe in most is the business strategy of Vegas and their ability to stay profitable off of square bets like the Ravens. This isn't the Ravens defense that won the superbowl with Ray Lewis. The pass defense is suspect and with West, Crowell and Shaw the Browns will find yards on the ground.
This should be a close game and in a close game I'd much rather take the team @ +800 and lose than the team with a -1000 ML giving up 14 points.

He threw a game winning hail mary TD against the Skins. He also played a preseason game against the Bears.

I'm getting burned on Ravens now, I can just sense this all game. They can't even beat the Browns at home when it counts to go to the playoffs. Unbelievable.
