Not asking Oregon Homers, or Samoa's .... At first and up to recently I was bunching him in with the Read option guys of the past few years.
When you throw 101 TDs vs 12 Interceptions, that is important... He is listed at 6'4" ? Looks a little smaller, maybe 6'2" and a half...
Just get a different feel, hard worker and could probably play in league and be a small step above the avg guys.. In other words, 5 years from now he will be a starter, but be labelled as 2nd tier... 14-20 best QB in the league ...

Nope. No reason to question his durability, but he strikes me as a skinny, frail guy.
Also, not sure how he could command an NFL huddle; seems shy and even a bit meek personality wise.
One last thing.....he has functioned within the parameters of the "read option" offense. Basically, he has no idea how to function under center, in a progression oriented passing game.....read option passing is predicated upon having a max of 3 potential recievers. Can he process information? Jury is still out on that one.
In any case, unless he goes to the Eagles and Chip, he will struggle mightily. To me he is a second day guy.

I think he deserves a shot in the league with someone(sit on bench as 2nd or 3rd string, let him learn and one day he will get a shot), but "I" wouldn't take him with "my" 1st or 2nd pick in the draft if I was a GM.

These are the concerns I would have too. While he has all the tools, no one knows what he can do outside his current system. There have been plenty of qb's come out of college with all kinds of gaudy passing stats (see Houston, TT, & Hawaii qb's) that just disappear from the NFL rather quickly. There doesn't appear to be any questions about his work ethic or integrity.......that's huge as far as who might draft him vs another player with questionable morals/ethics.

Oregon in particular has been a breeding ground for great college QBs that haven't translated to the NFL game. Akili Smith, AJ Feeley, Joey Harrington, Kellen Clemens, Dennis Dixon, Jeremiah Masoli, Darron Thomas, etc...

Good point, but I don't think Darron Thomas belongs on a list of great college QBs.

He was shy during the ceremony. His hands were trembling. I realize it is nerve wracking, but I did question whether he could be a true NFL QB, a leader.

Absolutely...........but many schools have the same failure rate, ie there aren't any guarantees you will make it in the pros because of where you played in college.
