Hate when people post "put the house on it" but I'm actually considering it here. Yes I know Steelers off back to back big wins and on primetime on top of that but I just can't find a reason to back the Jets except for it being a "bad spot" for Pitt.

Historically Steelers always play to the competition. Especially on the road. Look at a couple of games they had against Jaguars or Browns this year. Wins against Houston, Colts, and Ravens were all at home. They play differently at home while struggling on the road. I'm really considering picking the Jets myself because I'm not fully convinced Steelers are a complete team. Not sure if thats good enough reason but here are my 2 cents.

back to back to back, with a big one against the Ravens
.How about the Jets stop the run pretty good ,and Pitts success has really started with Bell. Or there 3 best games were against the 3 best QBs in the league . Maybe because they have one of the top3 field goal kickers who can keep them in the games hitting 47yarders consistently . Its a stretch obviously but you asked for a case . For the records I don't bet with or against the Jets hardly ever being a fan ,butt I think there are some other games that don't have the fishy line to contend with,

I would think Steelers would crush the Jets this week, will be more like a home game for them, every Jet fan I know here has sold their ticktets, no doubt to Steelers fans. However, with the line so low (opened at 3 and rising to 5 but has dropped back), it looks like Vegas is begging you to take Steelers and Vegas is never wrong about these things. I do think Jets will hang in for a half and get blown away in the second half, but I won't bet a penny on it.

Steelers ATS record as road favs (especially against teams under .500) says they WILL NOT cover.
That being said, I would not condone betting on the Jets, they are a BAD team with BAD management a BAD secondary and a sub-par QB, NOT worth the risk. Too many things can go wrong for the Jets so why are people so confident in them? I have no idea.
I believe Steelers cover but who knows, I placed a ML on the Browns yesterday and coming on here all the "sharps" would have convinced me otherwise lol
Basically go with your gut, the more you overanaylize a bet, the more your artificially convincing yourself to take one side or the other.

As mentioned in another thread, this is a terrible spot for the Steelers. Jets were competitive versus a pretty good Chiefs squad last week on the road and should show up for this one.
Line movement would suggest the smart guys like it too.

Before I even capped it, the line opened at -2.5 Steelers and my jaw hit the floor. I couldn't believe Vegas would take a flood of guaranteed money on the steelers like that.

I am not playing this game. However, check out the Steelers record under Tomlin when they are are on the road vs team under .500.
Also, I was in the swamp in Jersey the last time the Steelers played the Jets on the road in 2007. Check out the 2 teams going into that game (very similar to now) and then check out the final score. Again, I am not taking the NYJ. Those are just some reasons...

You have to either be really stupid to back the jets with the steelers coming off some quality wins. Or you are really smart and wait for the line to go past 4.5 maybe land on 6 before you bang the jets and hope a few questionable calls go in favor of the jets to keep them in a tight game. I smell an under in the mix.

How are the 2 teams similar going into game? In 2007 they both had above average defenses...now their defenses are both bad. Do the Jet still have Darrel Revis? LOL Far as I know their secondary is depleted with injury and ranked among the WORST in NFL. In 2007 Steelers had average at best RB Willie Parker, their top receiver was Santonio Holmes or Hines Ward...both of who were about average and neither a huge target. This year's Steelers have the best all purpose running back in the league Leveon Bell who does major damage thru the air which negates the Jets strong run defense advantage...arguably THE BEST receiver in NFL today Antonio Brown who even Revis would struggle to cover..and these Jets have nobody even close to him. Then throw in huge receiver target in Martavius Bryant that Ben hasn't had since Plaxico Burress..going against that terrible Jets secondary...yeah it sure looks similar alright! LOL

Neither of the road games against Jaguars or Browns had Martavius Bryant on the field...also I've heard the Jets stadium could be half Steelers fans..so it's not exactly a road game in a Seattle type environment...Steelers defense is bad but I will take their offense over Jets anyday.

Steelers would be chock full of confidence and momentum right now, they'll continue on their merry way.

The Jets are an abomination and betting on them and hoping they will cover (getting only 5 or 6 points against the hottest QB) is like hating wheatgrass juice but trying it again for the umpteenth time hoping it will taste better this go-round.

Im not playing this game because of the tomlin factor, guy doesn't always bring out the best in his team vs. weak competition. But personally i think you have to be a complete and utter re tard right now to put your money on the new york jets. Theres no home field advantage here, there will be more steeler fans tomorrow than jet fans. Polamalu being out is really no big deal, he's old and blows coverages anyways. The jets secondary is utter trash, so unless they are able to get pressure they are going to get blown out because the steelers probably have 3 or 4 of the most dangerous wr's in the nfl right now.

This line is ridiculous. I cannot see the Jets keeping the Steelers down. Last year the Jets were playing for Rex's job but now there's nothing left. The Jets secondary is so bad and they don't force turnovers. I think this is a lay up play. Steelers -3 (-120) it is
