Makes no sense. They weren't best team in division.
Might as well take teams with best records if this happens in future.
WHAT???..........The team with the best record in their division should win the division......In your scenario games against teams not in the division should not count as wins or losses...If thats the case why play them if the do not matter...I cant think of a team who who deserves to go to the playoffs less than the Lions. They do not deserve anything this year....They beat up on division teams only because of the NFC North had QB issues and injuries...If those injuries dont occur the Lions would not have even seen first place to blow it this season......Packers were 5-2 with zero division losses before Rodgers was injured.....All Detroit had to do was go 9-7 against an injury depleted NFC North and they win it but they proved they are not that good so why should they be in the playoffs......While the Packers lost Rodgers, Randall Cobb Clay Mathews Jermichael Finley, 2 offensive lineman plus many others losing the most amount of starts from starters per game on average than any other team in the NFL and when they were down 26-3 at halftime with the season on the line a bunch of back-ups decided they were not going down without a fight and came back....While a cocky bunch of scumbags that are the Lions thought they just had to show up on time to beat a bad visiting Giant team...The Lions knew they had to play 16 games going into the season not just the 6 in the division.....This was their biggest choke job I can ever remember...What is unfair is the Cardinals probably wont go to the play-offs cause that DIV. is so strong......When I think of Lions I think of cocky, lazy undisciplined group of guys with a wimpy head coach who cant handle a firm hand shake,...Of course the Matt Millen joke..........Other than the Classy Barry Sanders and Chris Spielman this team has been a joke for at least 30 years.....Most likely the Bears will win tonight and win the division because they have the best record and did what they had to do to get it.
