On a rampage the last few weeks. I have no fingernails left on my fingers as I bit them down to the bone sweating every game out, but hopefully the good breaks keep hopping my way. Good weekend of football, plus a good day at the Breeders Cup, so I'm feeling pretty good.
Washington -1 for Thursday Night Football. Wanted to get this before it is -3 by Wednesday. This is a team I'm now on 5 weeks in a row and while they either dominate and lose games(usually in grand fashion), or dominate and try to give a game away before pulling one out, this is a team that is getting the best of whoever they play regardless of the final score. I'm gonna keep on rolling with a team who is putting up 200+ rushing yards no matter WHO they play and why wouldn't they keep that trend going against a pretty bad Minnesota team especially a team who played their heart out just to lose at Dallas. Even their PUTRID defense shouldn't be bad enough to blow this one.
Gonna be going on vacation in a few days, but will try to come up with a couple more plays before I head out on Thursday. GL to all and I hope everyone had a winning weekend.

Heading out to myrtle beach tomorrow so I'm trying to get a few plays in before I leave. I'm not really feeling this weeks card and haven't pulled the trigger on anything yet. Gonna breakdown some thoughts I have though and pop back in later in the week if I make any wagers.
First off that Packer game. I didnt love it and only went a half unit for some "action," and even if Rodgers was in, it wasnt definite they were covering as the Bears played a good game and GB's defense was a disappointment. But Christ almighty, my suicide pool was down to 9 guys left(3 if Minny held on)and GB killed me losing SU.
Okay, I'm not as confident on my only play(Washington -1) as I was when I made it Sunday night, but not enough to buy out of it. Last week, my initial lean was Dallas big over Minny, but the more I thought about it, the faster i stayed away and almost went Minny plus the points. My thinking was Ponder gets hurt over a month ago. Cassel comes in and sabotaged the team where they couldn't get anything going. Then AP and the zoo around his son passing away. Then AP was nursing a hammy for a couple weeks. Then the Freeman fiasco. Then GB jumped all over them on SNF and they really couldn't get a running game going. I figured last week with Ponder back(no joe Montana, but he can at least win games), Minny would come out mean and try to pummel Dallas. Run, run, run. Control the clock. A little play action. And they did that. Now they face an almost comically bad Washington defense and catching a few points on the road. I can see them doing the same thing as they did against Dallas. Win the battles in the trenches, control TOP, and run all over a bad defense.
I am gonna stick to my Washington play though. I'm only laying 1, so its not like Washington plays a meh game and squeaks out a FG win and I don't cover. With pretty much no point spread, they just have to win. Also, after a terrible start, they are building a little steam, RG3 while not playing "great" is at least looking healthy and running the ball a bit more, like I said earlier, they are putting up 200+ yards on the ground on everyone they face. After a big win last week, they know they get past Minny now, they have 10 days rest before a division game at Philly, and by then could only be a game or so down in the East. I think they come out super motivated and that might be enough to win the game.
Quick thoughts in some other games:
- buf-Pitt. Buffalo has been playing some sneaky good ball with practice squad QB and Jeff tuel at the helm. They can run and play some some defense. Tough to gauge Manuel coming back though. Is he rusty? I like how he's looked before he got hurt, but he's still young, and still going on the road to a hostile environment. This is a game I probably sit back and watch and see how Manual looks and how effective they are running on Pitt. Maybe turnovers and wacky stuff leads to a giant Pitt blowout and then I hammer buffalo their next home game.
GB-Philly. GB looks like a steal here only laying 1.5. What's that line if Rodgers don't get hurt? I had it penciled at -10.5 before the game Monday. Can I trust Seneca Walllace though? Not sure if I can place money on someone who looked so damn bad regardless of any other factors.
- oak-NYG. 7.5 is pretty damn high. I set my lines for the week and this was the only game I was off more than 1.5 points off(I had 4). Sure the Giants can win, but if u look past the 49-21 drubbing of a final score last week, Oakland put up 200 on the ground and 400 in the air. That's not a dead duck team IMO who should be catching 7+ to a pretty bad giants team.
- sea-ATL. Atlanta burned me last week, but they were hanging around in a 14-10 game before the sh1t hit the fan on the road to a pretty good Panther squad. Now they are home with a Seahawks team flying cross country who has shown the last few weeks that just maybe they aren't elite as people thought. Their defense is good but not great, and that offense definitely has some kinks to work out. Not sold on Atlanta just yet, and as subpar as they are this year, giving them 6 in the dome is tough to pass on.
Cincy-Baltimore. Its obvious the bengals are the all around better team, and both are coming off tough losses that hurt them both in their respective playoff pictures(one olsying for possible bye and one playing to just get in). Ravens aren't my favorite squad, but Flacco is a much better QB at home(almost all QB are, but Flacco is lights out better at home or worse on the road however u want to look at it). Ravens defense is far cry from prior years, but they still can get after the QB, and u pressure Dalton, u can beat him. Nuff said. Cincy had a really nice run for a bit, but I'm thinking they go down again this week on the road to the Ravens.
- Arizona at home to Houston -3 is looking solid. What better way to fluster a young QB making his 3rd career start and only his second on the road, then facing a defense who brings crazy heat like the Cardinal defense brings? They just have to cover the dumplings when they bring the house! Houston sports a pretty good pass defense, but I'm hoping coach Arisns finally gets his head out of a$$ and lets Ellington get the start regardless of Mendenhall's status. They can run on this team and the more they run, the more Palmers play action is actually effective. Palmer doesn't hand this game over like he did a few others and it could be a blowout. Besides that, who knows where Houston is mentally with coach being out and brutal wade Philips taking over?
Haven't made any plays yet, but I'm eyeing Zona -3, Baltimore +2 or so, Atlanta +6, and Oakland +7.5 right now. Also eyeing a couple favorites with a bigger line to complete the card along with Washington -1.
GL to all and I'll try to pop back in before the games Sunday. Like usual, all thoughts and info are welcome.

Glyde, you not liking Carolina this week?I think it is a good spot for them.As crazy as this sounds I also like the horrible Jags coming off the bye.Good luck on your picks and have a blast down in Myrtle.Any golfing?

Hey Habs, was gonna give golfing a shot(I suck), but my buddy rehabbing a shattered ankle and don't think he can go 9 or 18 so probably not.
SF-Car I'm clueless on. Line makes it tough to go either way(unless u love the panthers). I think I'm gonna sit back and watch these two beat the crap out of each other. I'm interested in seeing how the panther DL and LB crew adapt to the run option.
I lean jags +11.5. I wouldn't be surprised if jags won. They gotta man up though because Tennessee is one mean team. If they want to win, they gotta come prepared to battle.

Great writeups and observation glyde. I am betting Washington as well. Minny injuries piling up. Washington can pile on the points. Good luck to us. Cheers

I don't know if its my iPhone 5S, or Covers mobile or a bit of both. This site has always yielded amazing ratios of lost posts, but since I got my new phone.....I could be typing and poof the page just refreshes. No rhyme or reason. Lately I've been stopping at every paragraph to SELECT ALL and then COPY and then PASTE, but I let my guard down today and 5 full writeups disappeared. Granted "full" writeups on a phone will never be as detailed or filled jammed with info like the old school days of Andarmac threads, but I still do put some heart into giving a little substance with my wagers so folks reading don't think there's a moron throwing darts at a board.
Ehhh, don't have the heart to re-write. Bottom line:
OAKLAND +7.5 ATLANTA +6 LIONS PK
Two more plays I'm waiting for better lines. Zona -3(would like 2.5) and Balimore +2(would like 3). I would say 80% chance of Zona dropping and 25% chance of Baltimore rising.
Heading out on vacation. Normally I would say, adios till next week but with phones the way they are today, 4 minutes of downtime, I can be back to update plays or just babble out loud in words.

People will respect the giants when they win 3 weeks in a row and tie for first. This team was never as bad as their record. The oline is back to playing well. running backs are healthy and defense is beasting. Good luck backing a raiders team playing at 10am and who becomes one dimensional when they cant run the ball. Guaranteed pryor mistakes cost them sunday as well. 30-13 giants

Camby, I live in a giants household(entire fam are ravenous fans), and I agree the Giants are better than the press might think and their record. I even pounded them a couple weeks ago against Minny(turned down free tix in a box though for that crapfest though lol), and leaked hard against them over Philly. So I do respect them.
That line though. 7.5..... I don't think the Raiders are getting ANY respect there and I'm gonna follow the value. If u read my thoughts, I'll rarely say blowout this or lock that, so Oakland is by no means a lock. I had them as they dominated the chiefs + a blow load of points and they fumbled to a 24-7 loss they should have AT LEAST covered if not won SU(Pryor mistakes as u said). I'm betting Pryors x factor(his legs) are more of a positive on Sunday than his chances of giving away the game. Its not like the giants have a ferocious pass rush of yesteryear. The kid SHOULD have time to set his feet and go through reads where some better defenses were on him so fast, he had time to throw a bad ball, or run for his life. You mentioned JPP(might have been Wussies thread as I just happened to read it before I came back here). This is a guy who is neutered and he knows it. I'm not gonna sit here and talk about my limited ball playing and compare it to a PRO like JPP and have a straight face....but sports are sports and growing up I was always a baller and I played three different sports. No matter how much I was hurting, no matter how much I was in over my head(me and my buddy used to hustle or local courts; two clumsy ass looking white dudes who would come up and play for 5 bucks or even a Gatorade) and no matter what the odds, no matter how much my back bothered me and hobbled me whether in a 2 on 2 half court game or playing 11 on 11 football and I was ALWAYS stuck guarding the best player on defense, I would talk my sh1t. Never let anyone know I was weak or overmatched. JPP was just in the press whining about how he won't be 100 percent till 2014. He will play his heart out, but just don't expect me(the fans) to be JPP u know. Usually you can guess what's bothering an ailing guy(very obvious recent back injury), but when he comes out and SAYS it.....that's a dude who is doubting himself and when u doubt yourself.....IDK dude, to think JPP is suddenly gonna look like Jevon Kearse again after a bye, I don't believe it.
LMFAO, JPP is now guaranteed 3 sacks and 4 TFL and I'll be eating crow in here Sunday night. (Covers rolling head emoticon). GL on your play, Camby!
Just hit ZONA -2.5. My book flashed them to -3(+105) so I bought the hook to -2.5 -105(dopey local). I'll take it.
Just waiting for late Cincy money to push that to -3 and I'm all over Baltimore to finish my card. Worse case scenario, I take them at ML +120-ish.
Christ, got a 10 hour ride ahead of me soon. Washington-Minny will suck up 3.5 hours of the trip though. Also got new Eminem to break down and deconstruct. And a 30mg roxy to "perk" me around the Virginia-North Carolina border. Lol, my driving buddy will be in passenger seat. From his eyes, he will see a guy driving who smoked one cig the first 5 hours and was moaning about his back stiff and half asleep and then suddenly, I will be chain smoking reds, guzzling huge bottles of water, punching the steering wheel and singing along to music, and then looking to stop at 3am at a myrtle beach strip club!

Geoff, I shouldn't have been such a douche. I'm not even anti-tout like most are on here. If you guys are as good as you say, aren't there less desperate ways to get your picks out there?? And your prices.....10k for a year package. C'mon dude. Wouldn't 1k be more reasonable??? If you are as good as you say, getting 3,000 people should be easy and that's 300,000 bucks in your pocket.
I once subscribed to a tout. Really good guy too. Reasonable price. I completely suck at totals and he had a really successful system for overs and unders. SHARPFOOTBALLANLYSIS is his website. I always do my thing and pick up cash betting my sides, and I complimented my plays with his computer system. Worked well for a few years. I also really respected his writeups. He was on covers for awhile before he went pro, and I truly enjoyed the angles and crazy writeups he brought to the table. Sometimes he helped turn a lean into a play. Or maybe a lean into a non play with some great angles against the team I liked. Anyway, it worked well for years, but the more he got bigger, the less the writeups were. Then too many variables got thrown into the mix. Used to be simple 1 unit unders and 2 unit overs and overs stopped being spit out, so over "leans" became a new thing mid season and added to a record that I never saw. Then college went from a side thing to half the focus(I subscribed for pro totals and that only) of the site. Then some Vegas guys got into the mix. One guy a big name sharp and another a pit boss at cantor casinos. And they started giving plays and advice that contradicted the totals system that was supposed to be the bread and butter.
Nail in coffin was a very slow start to 2012. I was breaking my back on sides(was a so-so year for me) and every single week those totals put me from +200 to -300. Think they were 1-12 to start the season with a few big 3 unit OVER plays that all went down. Then I'm seeing the totals disaster kind of shielded on the main page as college plays evened things out record wise and between the record finagling, the 5 paragraph beastly writeups becoming a few sentences rehashing trends, the extra focus on everything BUT NFL totals, and then the slow start and I jumped ship.
Sounds like I'm bashing the guy, but for the most part he is pretty solid if anyone is interested. He made me a lot of money compared to that really slow start of 2012, but it hit me late October of last year that my plays were +800 on season(7+units) and overall I was -2200 and I just can't do that. Might sound childish, but betting NFL and MLB is one of the few things in life I'm good at. I do my homework. I spend WAY too much of time at work capping and at home watching lines and sharing info on covers and with friends, to take a beating on plays that are not my own. Also, it was bearable for 3-4 years when I was doing my thing and totals hits were icing on the cake. Bearable as in putting my heart and brain into a pick, and then an under wager leaves me in a spot where I can't root my own team to score! But when my picks were winning and these totals stopped working, I had to call it quits. But dude was always solid. His record for most part is legit. Just not for me in the end.

Jesus Christ, the Redskins continue do break my heart. Up 27-14 with the ball and driving and find a way to give it up. AGAIN they come out in the 2nd half being super aggressive instead of sticking to a run game that couldn't be stopped. Then 1st and goal at the 6 and instead of running like they did to drive the 70 yards, they are chucking balls into the end zone. 41 minutes into the game before they attempted their first punt and they were losing 28-27. Out gained them something like 460-300 and still lost!
Crap like this leads to bad weeks that kill all momentum in a gambling season. 1/2 loss on MNF on a game I didnt really like but wanted a lil action and it was over the minute a rod went down. 1/2 unit loss on a college game I was being cute fading some text I got saying to go with Stanford. Then unit loss of a very winnable Washington game that they choked up. Now a 3-1 Sunday and I'm down juice and I'm very annoyed.
Weather is gorgeous is Mrytle though. Chilly as hell though the minute the sun went down. Colder than NJ, lol. Right now, I'm on Backpages trying to get a few escorts to swing by hopefully with some BLOW and some no condom BLOW jobs.
Keeping an eye on Ravens. Went from +2 to +1(even on ML). Then in last hour trickled back up to +2(+120 ML). Hopefully get that +3 by Sunday, but I'll go ML if not.

Keep it rolling brother. I won a CFL contest at another site and I'm smoking on totals but I have had 3 rough NFL weeks in L4.
Foster looks like a scratch this Sunday.
Seahawks left ATL cruise to a giant lead here at the Dome LY and almost caught them losing 30-28 and that vanquished them from the playoffs. That game is one that have not forgotten to a man.

XFL, gonna roll with all three of your overs. Thanks for the plays, dude! GL as always.
Camby, I lived in Howell down off exit 98. Also lived in Toms River and Belmar over the years. Where u from??
Eminem is a machine. First half of album was kinda meh to me first listen. Could be that I knew a few of the songs already, but I just wasnt feeling it. But from track 9(rap god) on, the album just doesn't stop. A couple songs see wrapped up in a mainstream vibe, but lyrically he puts on a clinic. Didnt listen to bonus disk yet; gonna save them for after I digest the album.

Philly OVER 47 Oakland +7.5 Atlanta +6 Detroit PK Arizona -3 Baltimore ML(+115)
XFL I have side plays on two of your totals, but I hammered your top one. I should have taken all of them for a smaller amount, but I would hate watching Oakland and Zona and rooting for giants and Houston to score to get the over. I hope they all win, but ESPECIALLY PHILLY. ;)

Haha, even Relapse had some beastly tracks. I did love Recovery though. That cd didnt come out of my car from June-November of 2010.
Yea, I was born and raised in Jersey City(journal square) but moved down to the suburbs when I was 10 or so. Wound up really loving it "down the shore." Belmar to Seaside and everything in between is my stomping ground!
GL on giants Camby. Obviously I'm on the other side, but maybe the line drops and we both nail it with a 7 point giant win.

I spent the last hour cursing off Mendenhall for fumbling and costing me a Zona win. I thought I pushed all along, but forgot I bought the hook.
Jeez, what a nail biting weekend. With exception of the falcons who suck, all four wins were crazy. Giant game was crazy. Almost lost on Hail Mary with ravens. Came down to 2 PT convo with Detroit. Zona won by the hook. Honestly, was in control of all 4 of those games from the beginning so I'm not gonna deem myself "too" lucky. I do feel bad I set Phixer off though. Cool enough dude, but I'm getting annoyed at the nonsense going on in here. Bunch of babies that can't cap a game for their lives and its fix this, fix that. ENOUGH!
