Slightly angry post, I hope Tebow succeeds and silences his critics. Jets get what they get......

Ok this is one of those, "I have a bone to pick postings".  There are a few reasons for this.  First and foremost is the fact that when he played in Denver I got my wife into football just by telling her his "story" about his outward expression of love of God.  She found it refreshing, as do most, that here is this big, full grown football player who is not silent about his faith There is a long history of outward show of faith in the NFL, but he seems to walk the walk.

Strongest QB in the league, former Heismann trophy winner and player of the year in college.  Some years have passed but he is as strong as an ox and Brady with his relaxed style should get along well with the guy.  Who can coach better than Bilichick?  You think the media will hound this coach without getting an earful? Brady and the coach can take him under his wing and allow him to fly under the radar as Captain America will obviously be running the offense.

Now about the bone I have to pick.  The Jets in my opinion submarined him, how else do you explain a guy taking 8 snaps?  Why else would you go out of your way to get a guy as they did, bury him on the bench, give him very limited action and then sit back as many in the media (and many clueless fans) blamed him for their season?  Sanchez didn't perform but all of the talk is about Tebow's failing...releasing him will REALLY help the Jets, look out now NFL...riiiiight...

I find it ironic, I could use stronger words here but ironic will do; that there are QB's who were involved in dog fighting and other various offseason indiscretions, all forgiven, while a guy who kneels and prays is centered out as somehow "bad".

You don't have to be a believer in faith to realize that sometimes it would be nice if stories that made the headlines in sports were about the "good guys" and not the idiots, juicebags and criminals.

I hope he has a healthy career, The Patriots just gained a couple of fans for all the right reason I would argue. Oh, and I wish the Jets the same repeated success next season....

Tebow might not even make the full roster after mini-camp and OTA's.  And there are plenty of good guys in the NFL.  More good guys in the NFL then there are bad guys.  Stop waiting for the media to tell you about the good ones, because good guys don't sell newspapers.  You'll only hear about the few knuckleheads getting into trouble.

Tebow is just a sideshow Bob, lol

best dude in the nfl is larry fitzgerald.  we're friends on twitter   but he doesn't get the tebow retard treatment because he doesn't publicize his business all over the place.  plus, he wasn't homeschooled. 

also nnamdi asopmugha is one of the all time great charitable players.  is actually very intelligent, like fitzgerald, unlike tebow.  how many people know about and talk about all the garbage he does for other people.

And have any of these nice people been thrown under the bus by an organization?  For what reason did the Jets pick up Tebow and do what they did to him?  This is what has never been clearly explained to me...

I have been following sports a long time.  A fan of a much broader range of sports than most fans.  It always seems that the players getting the most ink are the biggest jerks outside of the game.  What I don't understand is why anyone should care about his beliefs.  It's as if people are less comfortable with their OWN beliefs, or, they don't have the courage to do their own thing and dislike him because he does his.  No harm done to them, nothing overtly offensive, they just hate to see a guy walk his path without showing their own prejudices.

There are alot of people rooting for him to succeed this is for sure.  There might be as many or even more hoping he fails.  If he is not given a legitimate shot in the NFL, I hope he heads to the CFL, he would be huge here.  Not because of his faith, but because Canadian sports fans love the under dog and those who have been kicked when they are down.  He would be a massive draw.

Warren Moon and Flutie illustrated that they can succeed at both levels.  Oh, Flutie is another who was brushed off by the NFL...he could have done very well regardless of his size...that's another story though.

no one should care about his beliefs and no one would know about them if tebow would havet shut the f*ck up about them.  his agent, or someone with sense, set him straight on this so he wasn't thanking god for every time his team won (while kids continue to die from starvation and natural disasters all over the place, etc) this past season but he laid it on pretty thick in the beginning.

yes, he had a tough season with the jets, but how much sympathy do we need to have.  he's not the first backup qb with little experience and very questionable qb skills who didn't play a lot.  as horrible as it sounds, this does happen in sports.  it's not like they didn't pay him.  they did pay him, right.

it's not like they forced him to sign some incentive laden contract where he'd only get paid if he got 50 snaps and they cut him off at 49.

people should really stop treating him like a retard.  he's an adult. the playing field is the ultimate free market.  if he's a quality nfl player, he'll have a quality nfl career.  teams do want to win, after all.  if not, he won't.

I'm going to ask this question again........because it has never been clearly explained to me.

They took a guy who had options, and they sat him even while they have the perfect opportunity to allow him to play.  Even while fans were screaming for the head of , Sanchez and Ryan (Tannenbaum took the fall), he stayed loyal and they finished a dismal 6-10.  Do you recall the Broncos turnaround when he started after they were 1-4?  In fact, it could be argued if they didn't have any faith in him this was precisely the chance for them to give him the reigns without any worries of a backlash even if he failed.

He went 6 for 8, little yardage but very little exposure and was released.  I can't make sense of this can you?  Especially considering how much exposure he was bringing the NFL.

So now they have Sanchez, assured a spot because the Jets don't have faith in Geno.  They will finish poorly again in the year they host the S.B and Ryan will be lucky to last the year.

Someone once told me something is better than nothing two times out of three...I don't see how they could justify NOT playing him while they stunk up the joint...he would have given them SOMETHING, hope, an outside shot, a wing and a prayer...instead they signed him to....?  Tell me again, wtf did they sign him?

OK..........they didn't play him. But did you ever think that, considering how bad the Jets were LY, they may have actually done him a favor? What if they played him the last 3-4 games & things went from bad to worse? What if he got injured? His career could be over if he bombed or got injured.  That, to me, would've been throwing him under the bus. If I remember correctly, the Jets were technically alive for a playoff berth with 3-4 games remaining.

  Maybe they had plans to get him on the field in some other capacity but he resisted......I don't know. What I do know is they gave the kid a contract & paid him. He isn't the only guy in history to not get playing time as a BU. I honestly don't care one way or the other about Tebow. He was a fine player in CFB.........but we all know that doesn't guarantee a future in the NFL.

As far as exposure for the NFL..........I don't think it needs Tebows help.

 Also..........if the Broncos were so impressed with Tebow then why didn't they keep him as a BU to Manning? Maybe the kid is too polarizing of a figure to keep around. The Broncos didn't want him around, even after having some success, & neither did the Jets. There's much we just don't know.......

i don't buy that he was too polarizing.  the nfl is full of stories of guys with all sorts of baggage that makes teams because they can play and teams just want to win.  i think there is a direct relationship between a player's talent and the amount of sideshow a team is willing to accept with that player.  if a player is very good, the team will take on the baggage.  if a player is not very good, he better not have much baggage or he isn't worth it.  i think we know where teams see tebow on that spectrum.

i hope he finds a position on new england, the media circus moves on to another story and tebow has a long career.

Isnt that nice that you got your wife to watch the game of football because of Tebow.
That doesnt change the fact he is useless as a QB and If any Organization used his skills to perfection it was the JETS

Let me explain
He was is and always will be useless on the football field.
The only reason he is with the Patriots is because the idiot who drafted him in the first round JOSH AIRHEAD McDaniels gum jobbed Bill Billicheck to death bring him in as a 3RD STRING BACK UP

Ill bet any money he doesnt beat out Ryan Mallet

i don't think he has a chance to beat mallet.  i'm not even sure that's even a consideration.  he's just fighting for a roster spot which of course is more difficult to do when you are getting no guaranteed money.

1) Tebow is not the strongest QB in the league
2) Sanchez was slandered FAR more than Tebow was last year and still is. Any online search can prove this.
3) Who has ever cared that Tebow kneeled in the middle of the field? It annoyed people. Not as an expression to a god but as a gesture to draw attention, to himself. He he kept doing it and the finally, trademarked Tebowing. You are going to trademark an expression of faith? Wow, what a witness....

I am glad people like Tebow exist, if he gets under the skin of people that is their problem not his.  Most religions have people wearing something that identifies their faith...if they are walking down the street should they be worried that someone will attack them due to their beliefs?  If no, then why do you attack Tebow regarding his? 

Change the channel, turn off your T.V, show your displeasure by watching the CFL instead of the NFL (we can always use more fans), but don't get upset because of his outward expression of his religion hurts your feelings.

I hate it when some goofy player thanks Jesus after a big win.  Like Jesus gives a damn about some ridiculous game.  What?  Does Jesus hate the other team then?  It's the dumbest thing I've ever seen. 

You could give a 6 year old a word association test.  Show him/her a picture of a football field and a picture of a church.  Ask him to match up praying and playing football with the two pictures.  Not one of them will say praying belongs on the field of play.  They wouldn't play football in the church would they?

If Tim Tebow wants to pray night and day, let him do it where it belongs:  in a church or with him slinking around some back alley.  This praying on the field of play is blasphemous and must stop.

the jets will be cursed for what they did to tebow, just like the bills are suffering the curse of flutie getting benched for the music city miracle.

incidentally, for years and years i hated wade phillips , assuming he was the culprit for fluties benching , but ive heard reports that this was strictly owner ralph wilson's directive .

props to the patriots for this signing.  no matter how it turns out, at least the pats arent doing this for the attention whoring the jets were employing.

the only reason i'm happy for Tebow is because of Rex Ryans stupid relationship with Mark Sanchez.. anyone knew that Ryan shouldve started Tebow at the end of the season when AND when they didn't have a shot at the wildcard... it was just stupid because Sanchez played horrible game after game and Tebow didnt get one chance.... wait ... he had a few snaps..... bullsh1t.... Ryan and Sanchez had a thing going on and it was st upid... 

plus few years ago when Ryan thought he had the dream team with cromartie and revis in the corners and picked up a few key players on offense..... his interviews were pathetic... acting coc ky and goofing around...... i Cant wait to see the Jets organization collapse upon their own stupidity....

It's strange that people ridicule Tebow for expressing his faith publicly  yet they say nothing when other players look to the sky and point upward. Just yesterday golfer Justin Rose did exactly that.

Why the haters are all over a decent guy is beyond me. Here's a guy who's parents are missionary's helping people around the world.

Here is Tebow going to see dying children in hospitals in his spare time, while other players are fighting in bars, carrying guns, driving drunk, dog fighting, beating up women, butt slapping, committing murder, committing suicide, screwing as many women as they can, and making babies with each one. Yet you complain about a gesture from a QB just trying to make it in the world.  It's sickening to me.

College, He was a product of the Urban Myer system and a Lights out great Defense.
All he had to do was not phuck things up.

Denver, the Offensive Coordinator had to take football back to the stone ages to make it work, I give McCoy the new Chargers coach all the credit there.

College. Yes they had a great defense, but they all forget about the Gators final drive.  ( not to mention the Broncos final drive )

Pro..Let me tell ya, they have been worse QBs with great defenses to win. Billy Kilmer couldn't throw 20 yards but made it to the super bowl.

 Bradshaw would have stunk up the field without a great defense.

Brett Favre is another one, His throwing motion stinks, and he set an NFL record for interceptions. He had a defense.

Trent Dilfer was pretty bad, but Baltimore won a super bowl with him.
