I'm surprised you didn't get more negativity than you did after calling your pick legendary.

Really? What did you expect after making the thread with " Legendary superbowl pick " in it ?  If you did this same shtick to the bar full of people, what would you think happens?  Most won't say " Hey sorry you lost , get it next time!"
They ll go" That s what you get to cocky MF when you couldn't back it up."
You gotta assume internet is worse imho

This is for all the newbies and negative chime-in artists that just have to get on the bully-pulpit and jump on a thread like Don Juan had up on the Super Bowl this year.

I have been on this site before Don Juan started posting (yes, I go back to the ole' Wagerline days). There was a time on here where you could post and have some decent interchange of ideas/angles/systems regarding handicapping. Heck, we're talking about gamblin' - so the only rule is there are no rules that work more than 55-60% of the time over the long haul - and only if you are a little bit good and being very lucky does not hurt either, right?

So, I can provide the forum with some facts:

First, Don Juan is very good at picking Super Bowl winners. I know his record is accurate. I can tell you he no longer includes the 2001 game he and I used to differ on, the famous Push between the Rams and Titans. It was -7 for weeks and I took issue with those who declared -6.5 Rams a winner. Of course, I had Titans that year - they had covered practically every game of the season and playoffs (if you don't believe me, look it up) - and I posted them a ton that week. It was a Push for me, that I know. In the past 12 years, I can only think of one game he lost.

Second, Don Juan is a stand-up guy and made a point of congratulating Raven winners on a separte thead. Not many people take the time or have the moral fiber to do that - so take come notes on that, will 'ya. Now I would have posted it on the original thread, but that is just me.

Third, how can there be a scam when all he did was make a case for the 9ers based on his style of handicapping.  He never said like some perps on the board who are saying bet the car, bet the house, bet the wifey, bet the first born, etc. Kapernick made a big splash this year and wrecked the season of a lot of good teams, like the Packers and the Falcons. The game did not go his way or Don Juan's way - so get over it.

DJ, everybody take it easy and GL to everybody.

Well Hello Veeman, great to hear from you again.. It's been awhile. Hope all is well with you. And, thanks for setting the record straight. I tip my cap.

I too remember that you had a great record, but I lost track after the merger.

We had our debates didn't we ? But, it was always informative and congenial, mostly about the Packers. I do recall saying that someday Mr.Rodgers will make GB fans forget about Favre. I felt that he took advantage of the best fans in NFL at the end of his career..

Do you know what is ironic and maddening ? Except for last Sunday, my only SB loss was on the Packers, against the Steelers +2.5.. lol. I didn't read your post but I'm positive you had GB in that SB.

I will say this about Kaepernick.. He will be back in the Superbowl, someday, somehow. The kid is a fantastic QB.

All the best to you, I hope to see you around more often.

Godspeed.

Hi Jimmythefreak..nice to hear from you. I don't hang around college forum because of the overwhelming number of posts. However, I did read your great write up on the Ala/ND game.  Nice job.

Hope to see you around more often.

Godspeed.

Perhaps, as soon as next year. Keep your chin up and come back strong on next Super Bowl play.

They were not going to cover but kid was 5 yards from a SB win.
He is going to be good, very good. Especially if that O Line stays together.

Don Juan it drives me crazy when people jump on a good capper for losing a game. However, when you call yourself legendary and then blow the pick you should understand that you are going to invite criticism.

They said the same thing about Tiger Woods, Arnold Palmer, Mohammad Ali, Larry Bird, Roger Clemens when they lost two. But, they are still legends in the own time.
