Ok, Im not white... Im not black. Im not racist, but everything about him is a jke.  It takes away from the game.   I love sports.  So much, I am trying to learn soccer, tennis, and golf.   But what our media does with the Superbowl is beyond rediculous.

He is an attention wanting drama queen.  I don't respect him.  if he wasn't Ray Lewis .. he wouldnt be playign the past 2 years.   Ok so he motivates ....  so does Lindsey Hunter.

He is a complete joke.  AFC Conf Finals.  after the game, we have to watch his behind for 10 seconfds?  doing what/   wtf are we watching on national television .. with ids...   his behind is hanging out, and the camera is all on him.

Does he want to be Reggie White?  Who showed his true colors aftarwards?  Being that he was a moron ...

I feel sorry for these smart analysts and commentators who have to cover this trash.   And gloat about all the good that is Ray Lewis..

Christ no one cares..

Did you all see there was 2 plus minutes to go in the game .. and Ray Ray was ready to take his clothes off, and pse for tv. ... when apparently his personaly bouncer,  ( who is he?  Ive seen his all the time around Ray around end of games in a suit) .. mostly telling him to calm the darn down.    This time, he made him put his jersey back on ...   lol .....)

so yea, a mature 35 + yo , that isnt his first rodeo ... why is he acting like that?   he pumped with so much drugs. he has a personal bodyguard to calm him down.    amazing ..

Because of this.. I cant sand the NFL.   All sports suck these days.   Turning me into tennis and soccer.    Oh well .. at least there is betting !  But for those of you who worship these fools .... I pity you.

Ray Lewis has a superbowl title.

Ray Lewis is one of the best defensive players of all time.

Ray Lewis is a first ballot hall of famer.

Ray Lewis is the unquestioned leader of the Baltimore Ravens, who are going to the superbowl.

What have you done?

I agree with boydur.  Tonly Gonzales has the same status and accomplishments minus a ring.  He doesn't waste time doing this garbage.

Mr. Boy,

Must suck to vicariously want to live through Ray rays life... only to wake up and find that your just a bottom feeder in the pool of covers betters.  And to think, there maybe a chance someday that people in here will actually WORSHIP you.

When Ray was in his prime he was one of the top linebackers of all time.  Easy.  He would dominate.  Any guy he got near went down. Incredible player.

He's played on one team, the Ravens, from the start of the franchise to now.

The reason why he gets attention is he's a natural with the microphone and a born leader.  He has respect on his team, and around the league.

Sure he has some flaws, but who doesn't.  Why go after him.  Unless you're on the Niners, then I'll understand.

Exactly-

He is a football player- nothing to be worshiped like so many of you do on here.

To sum it up:

As a football player he was/is great- one of the top 10 LBs ever

As a human being he is NOT - don't forget he may not have wielded the knife used in a double murder but he sure as hell covered it up- was found hiding in the trunk of a car after discarding evidence- 6 babies with 4 different women and an absolute drama queen

Some people worship him some hate him-

Yeah you're right.

Why should I respect a guy who is one of the best in the world at his profession, and makes millions of dollars doing what he loves for a living.

This has nothing to do with what he was.  This has nothing to do with the adorations we have of sports athletes, which is a ludricrous story in itself.  This is about him crying after every game, preaching, why is he the only player with his uniform off before the game ended, why is there someone standing next to him in a suit at all times, why does the media need a storyline?? thats the main problem.   its the nations #1 sport.   and you need to create storylines?  I'm just saying, this takes away from the game, cause all you will hear now is about great great Ray Lewis... its just so overkill, and fuckin annoying.

You are such a clown.

Do I respect Ray Lewis more than the Military, un-crooked cops (all 7 of them) Fire fighters, the president of the united states, no.

Do I respect a guy who lives his life by god, gives back to people less fortunate and gets to do what he loves for a living, YES.

Who the hell are you to go around acting like a man is less deserving of respect because he gets to do what he loves for a living and makes a lot of money doing it.

You need to get some perspective on life and stop judging people, who the hell are you?

bullshit!  you need to end this debate because i am only going to get more and more truthful with you... and it's not gonna be pleasant!

i am someone who REALLY lives his life by God... NOT THE PHONY BULLSHIT PREACHING that Ray Lewis does out of one side of his mouth, while (a) killing people on the side, and (b) pumping himself up in a way that has NOTHING TO DO WITH HUMILITY... a quality that God finds a little bit important...

you need to shut the darn up, and so does Ray Lewis!  neither of you have any idea what God is about...

I think the bigger issue is how your society idolizes and worships athletes and other celebrities and rewards them for achievements that are more or less imaginary. Most people don't seem to realize that they are being sold a product and showmanship like Ray's is a big part of that.

Ever seen the movie Superfan? It's a dark comedy where an obsessed football fan randomly meets his favorite player (actually a linebacker sort of inspired by the Ray Lewis, Lawrence Taylor, etc. type mold) in a night club and ends up having the guy nearly beat him to death for no good reason.
