Hank Stram's famous Superbowl Formula is said to be at 39-4-2 going into this game. He did have it for all SB's. I can't confirm that for sure but I KNOW it's an unbelievable record for picking the straight up winner and Hank Stram is no dummy. I for one will be POUNDING the 49ers money line in Vegas next weekend...
1. Give 10 points if a team has won a Super Bowl in the last three years. NONE 2. Give 8.0 points to any team whose opponent is in their first Super Bowl in franchise history. NONE
3. Give 8.0 points to the team that has allowed the fewer defensive rushes. 49ERS 4. Give 7.0 points to the team with the best straight up win/loss record including playoffs. 49ERS 5. Give 7.0 points to the team with the most offensive rushes. 49ERS 6. Give 5.0 points to the team with the lower defensive rush average per carry. 49ERS 7. Give 4.0 points to the team that has the best net kick-punt touchdown returns. ??? 8. Give 4.0 points to the team the team with the better record against the point spread. 49ERS 9. Give 4.0 points to the team that has the superior net penalty yards. 49ERS 10. Give 3.5 points to the team that has the best yards per pass attempt. 49ERS 11. Give 3.5 points to the team that has given up the fewest points. 49ERS 12. Give 3.5 points to the team that has allowed the fewest rushing touchdowns. ??? 13. Give 3.0 points to the team that has the most sacks. 49ERS 14. Give 2.5 points to the team with the fewest offensive pass attempts. 49ERS 15. Give 2.0 points to the team that had the best net punts (total) on the year. ??? 16. Give 1.5 points to the team with the best average per offensive rush. 49ERS 17. Give 1.0 points to the team with the best completion percentage. 49ERS
FINAL TALLY: 50-0 with only 9.5 points I couldn't fill in. WOW. Last time it was that one-sided was Pitt over GB and GB beat this Formula. Look for that NOT to happen again. |

#3 Posted: 1/24/2013 6:35:02 PM You should take the spread at -110 instead of laying -175 on ML, if the "System" predicts a SF blow out? |

#5 Posted: 1/24/2013 6:39:25 PM Europa, I would lay the 3.5 but the hook is killing me and I'm betting large and will simply bet the ML to be safe. Not great capping strategy but I'm in Vegas going off on this weekend. ;) Read this interesting article...

Laying fav MLs in NFL playoffs may not sound very profitable in long term, you would probably do better just take the spread? GL! |

dude, u did this couple of years ago with Pitt vs GB.. and how did that turn out for u ?
and i remember last year, someone posted the same formula.. and the NE Pats had the big 'advantage' against the Giants.. and how did that turn out ?
leave the 'formulas' to the geeks and focus on the match-ups

#9 Posted: 1/24/2013 8:24:53 PM What would you do if the PS3 game predicts Balty to win? I believe this also has a great record as of late.

#12 Posted: 1/24/2013 9:55:43 PM I think Stram back dated that system and used it first in the 80's, I remember when he first used it.
I would not bet on it, just googleD it and it lost 6 of 7 games going into 2010 SB and lost that SB taking the Colts over Saints.
Feel free to look this up, I already have....................no.1 which gives a team the most points, is the opposite of history in covering the spread, especially recent history.
Teams in the SB in previous three years.
Rams won in 1999, failed to cover in 2001
Pats win in 2001 fail to cover in 2003 and 2004 .
Pats win in 2004, fail to cover in 2007.
Pitt wins in 2005, fails to cover in 2008
Colts win in 2006, fail to cover in 2009.
Pitt won in 2008, failed to cover in 2010
The team in the SB previous 3 years gets the most points of any stat, that worked-out in the early SB years when Stram back-dated to develop it but does not work today.
This system will not work today, hey, feel-free to throw ALL THE CASH YOU WANT ON-IT..................................................... |

#13 Posted: 1/24/2013 10:06:57 PM Hey theclaw your analysis doesn't really make sense to me and just for that I'm DOUBLING my bet on the 49ERS! Please think of me when your Ravens cash is gone and the Ray Lewis fairy tale ends with tears and depression. |

The most important part of that system, no1 which gives the most points at 10 points .
Says to back team that won the SB in the past 3 years, those teams are on a 0-7 ATS run and those 0-7 teams are recieving the most points in the most important indicator in the system.
How the hell can that be a good system, use your head.
If no.1 is so flawed what about the other numbers ?
Teams winning the SB in the previous 3 years worked well in the 60's and 70's and 80's when Stram back-dated it during the 80's, but does not work today since free agency changed quite a bit in the league. |

#24 Posted: 1/26/2013 10:58:19 AM In the 60's, 70's and 80's, a team in the SB in the previous 3 years is 7-0 SU and 6-1 ATS.
That system was developed using results from a different era, those results are no longer true today, hey just trying to trying to help you out.
If you like the 9ers and they could win and cover, then take them, but I wouldn't take them BECAUSE this system told you so......................................................... |
