#1 Posted: 12/26/2012 7:16:04 PM It seems like a long shot, but at the same time if you really look at the teams who have to lose, it could easily happen. The Vikings could easily lose to the Packers who are the hottest team in the NFC. Detroit can beat Chicago at home because of how cold Chicago is and their injuries are mounting + no o line. Washington should beat the Cowboys and Giants will beat Eagles, which means they will be in the playoffs. |

#3 Posted: 12/26/2012 7:49:36 PM None of the teams that the Giants need to lose are long shots to lose so like you state, it's reasonable to think it might happen but I think this Giants team will take that possibility out of the equation by losing themselves straight up to the Eagles.
Think these Giants are ready for the offseason...
imho

#7 Posted: 12/26/2012 9:18:24 PM Giants to make playoffs must win of course , and have loses by Bears Vikings, and a tie or loss by cowboys
I guess its possible . but who wants to see anymore of the Giants they stink on both sides of the ball ,
I give Philly good chance even with Vick playing, it's a downgrade from Foles , but Vick has had a chance to get healthy and do what he does best RUN
.Philly would like to send Andy Reid out with a win plus Vick is desperate to look good , to try to catch on with a next team next year. |

#8 Posted: 12/27/2012 1:31:46 AM It could happen, but I just think the Vikings beat the Packers.Lions I could see winning and Washington, as Romo will choke as always in big games, but the Vikes are hot and I see them beating the Pack at home.
So even if the Giants take care of business, they still won't get in. Who knows, crazier garbage has happened, so its possible. |

#9 Posted: 12/27/2012 1:49:51 AM Take it for what it's worth, but I was pretty surprised when I saw the NFL props on Sunday. This was prior to the 1 PM kickoffs.
The Redskins were a heavy, heavy favorite to make the playoffs even before the kickoff.
The Cowboys were a decent underdog to not make the playoffs. (I probably shoulda played the Saints at that point after seeing that).
The Giants were slight favorites to make the playoffs I believe.
I actually think the Giants might go into SNF live. Detroit "is due" for a short line victory vs. the Bears, and the Packers should win at Minnesota.
By that happening, the Redskins clinch before SNF is even played. I still think the Redskins win though, not so much because of the rivalry. More so, because the Redskins actually have depth in some spots this season, so benching starters really doesn't really lead to a dropoff.
Despite Washington running with Rex Grossman and equivalents the past few years, the Skins usually play them tough.
Last year this one dude said "I like the Giants to win the SB" right before the Dallas game to end the year. I thought it was a sucker bet just cuz he thought history would repeat itself again, but low and behold it did.
If the Giants get in, I believe they get the Niners in San Fran again....
Wait a second... Pardon my ramble, but if the skins clinch prior to SNF, I don't think they wanna go to Seattle. It might benefit them to lose and take their chances in San Francisco. |

My fault. If Washington wins, Seattle is a home game in Washington, so they'll still have everything to play for. That pretty much makes SNF meaningful no matter what. |

#11 Posted: 12/27/2012 2:12:16 AM Yes, Washington would be the 4th seed and they would most likely host Seattle, the 5th seed. Giants would be the 6th seed and play at San Fran, who would be the 3rd seed.
I think even if Seattle wins and San Fran loses, then San Fran still wins the NFC West division by a half game. San Fran is playing Arizona so they are 99,9% winning that game lol. So San Fran is pretty much the 3rd seed unless Green Bay loses I think then San Fran is 2nd seed. |

#14 Posted: 12/28/2012 9:46:16 AM I think the giants have what it takes to win and get into the playoffs. But even as a huge fan i dont see the magic they had last year coming thru this year with Osi talking all that stuff and injuries mounting. Unless Cruz plays out of his mind in the playoffs lol

They are getting me. I rode them HARD last year all the way to the SB win. I am getting hammered this year by them. |
