Carolina has played the second toughest schedule in the NFL and they've hung in to a lot of games lately. This is a team that is making positive improvements every week. The ESPN hoopla about Cam Newton is way over blown. They have a solid running game and a good defense. Denver is also in a tough spot playing their second east coast road game in a row after playing the Saints on MNF three weeks ago. They haven't seen even a remotely good defense in a month and I think playing a tough Carolina D on the road could mean they come out flat offensively. |

Lets look at the offenses that Chicago has played this season (based on my rankings):
IND #25 GB #6 STL #22 DAL #24 JAC #32 DET #12 CAR #20 TEN #18
Their defense has benefited from a very easy schedule. After adjusting for SOS with in my RPI, the Bears D ranks #5 (Houston ranks #2). In the two games that the Bears played an offense similar in caliber to the Lions, they lost by 13 to the Packers and won by only 6 against the Lions. Also, if you remove all the defensive scores from the Bears point total this season, they become a below average team in terms of scoring production. The Bears are a good team, don't get me wrong. But I don't think their offense will be able to put a touchdown of difference ahead of Houston. Houston also runs a very tight show and they're not prone to the same type of big play meltdowns that the Bears have feasted on all season.

The #'s are strong to the over in New England, but I'm expecting a run heavy game plan by the Pats. A fast moving clock will make any total in the 50's hard to get to. I don't have a clue on the Chargers game. Pass. |

Baltimore's defense isn't good enough to be laying over a touchdown even against Oakland. I know my model says something like Baltimore -11.5, but I don't feel as confident about this prediction as the raw statistics do. Lots of room for a backdoor with a pass happy Oakland team and a very very poor Baltimore secondary. |
