Denver Broncos/San Diego Chargers (U 23.5) for 1st Half.+111

I agree.  I kinda like the full game total to stay under as well, but I'd prefer to keep playing the halves so I can make an adjustment at halftime if necessary.

Obviously, this is a big game for both teams.  SD is without Gaither, Gates has been a ghost, Floyd isn't 100%..  that's a tough spot.  I was really leaning Denver is I had to play a side, but I'm staying away from that.

Denver Broncos/San Diego Chargers (U 23.5) for 1st Half.+111

2H Total Points Over 21.5 for 2nd Half -106

I really didn't want to do this.  When the 1st half OVER hits, the UNDER has been a good play.  But, I think Peyton can get a couple of scores.  He'll probably throw another pick or two trying, so I can see this getting to 24 in the 2nd.

Here's the update on the splits.  The 1st half UNDER took a beating last week.  At least the 2nd half OVER came through...

1st Half UNDER -- 10-8 (Cincy/Balt, DEN/ATL, Pats/Ravens, SD/NO, HOU/NYJ, Pitt/Tenn, GB/HOU being the losers)

2nd Half OVER --- 10-7 (SD/OAK, CHI/GB, DEN/ATL, NYG/CAR, Zona/STL, SD/NO, HOU/NYJ were the OVER losers.  Packers/Seahawks omitted, I think it was a push but I didn't play it and can't find the line)

Total:  20-15 on the season if you followed it blindly.  Last week was pretty rough.  Got  on the MNF 1H UNDER, 24-0 SD lead.  Wish I could have bought a hook and pushed.

Potentially 25-10 --  if you didn't get caught too badly in a couple of games.  Specifically the DEN/ATL, GB/CHI, ZONA/STL and Pitt/Tenn games.

Another Thursday night...  another 1H UNDER bet.

Seattle Seahawks/San Francisco 49ers (U 19.5) for 1st Half.-107

Was a little worried about going this way with a lower total for the night, but I think Seattle will play tough in the 1st quarter.  As long as they don't turn it over with a fumble TD or pick 6, I think this has a good chance of hitting.

Also made a small play on a 7 pt teaser, teasing SF down to -1 with the OVER 30.5 total.

I know I'm losing value by not taking the points but I just feel pretty confident that the 49ers take this game.  They won't lose back to back at home.  Big game for both teams in a dog fight for that division but I'm going with the home team.  I'd be too worried about Seattle getting blown out after that emotional win that week against the Pats.  Which is why I took bet SF down in the teaser.  God bless 'em for doing it though, that game was fn fantastic last week!!

Considering putting a play of the over 37.5 total, I might just sit back and getting ready for the 2nd half tho.

GL on your plays fellas!

Seattle Seahawks/San Francisco 49ers (U 19.5) for 1st Half.-107

Seattle Seahawks/San Francisco 49ers (U 17.5) for 2nd Half.-105

Kinda scramblin... and going against the "trend".  Can't see these two lighting it up all of a sudden.  Seattle is poised to take down another frontrunner.

GL!

1st Half UNDER -- 11-8 (Cincy/Balt, DEN/ATL, Pats/Ravens, SD/NO, HOU/NYJ, Pitt/Tenn, GB/HOU being the losers)

2nd Half OVER --- 10-8 (SD/OAK, CHI/GB, DEN/ATL, NYG/CAR, Zona/STL, SD/NO, HOU/NYJ, SEA/SF were the OVER losers.  Packers/Seahawks omitted, I think it was a push but I didn't play it and can't find the line)

Total:  21-16 on the season if you followed it blindly.

Potentially 27-10 --  if you didn't get caught too badly in a couple of games.  Specifically the DEN/ATL, GB/CHI, ZONA/STL and Pitt/Tenn and SEA/SF games.

I know these bets are kinda lame since most people prefer to try and predict the sides for full game outcomes, but I've done quite well in this format.  Still picking my spots tho.

Nice cash last night.  Didn't have a chance to get in here and see what you were on but I rolled with the game total under 38.  Nice to see us both cash.  Do you bet game totals or just the 1H and 2H totals?

Runnin late again, I'll be back in a bit.  Just posting this for now.  Staying with the 1H UNDER.  I think this game will open up as it goes on.  Cincy tends to start slow.  Both teams are banged up a little bit.

Pittsburgh Steelers/Cincinnati Bengals (U 22.5) for 1st Half.+109

Thanks bud.  Congrats on the cash.

I don't do many game totals or even sides for the matter.  Usually dabble with teasers and the odd parlay outside of this but I haven't been posting them since they aren't "popular" bets.

Lately I've been sticking to the 1H and 2H totals because it's been working for me.  I also like the ability to watch the game and get a feel for what's happening and go from there.  It's not often that I blank on both bets so I prefer to give myself a chance to at least break even in case the 1st half doesn't work out.

Well, that sucked.  I wasn't overly confident in the 1st half pick and whenever that happens, I know I should go the other way.

As for the 2nd half, I don't see these defenses completely shutting each other down.  I liked the full game over quite a bit, sticking with the points.

Horrible night last night.  Brutal.  I think I jinxed myself with all that "I don't blank both bets" talk.

Back to the well.  I'll update the record later.

1H Total Points Under 23.5 for 1st Half -123

I was on this play well before I saw this thread and read about the trend.  I think these defenses will have what it takes to slow down 2 sub par quarterbacks.  The weather should help slow things down a little bit as well.

BTW, I'm sure you'll be watching the game, but just in case you aren't, you might want to take a close look at the second half over.  The weather (when I checked it 2 hours ago) was supposed to worsen later in the night.  And soldier field can get pretty soggy if the rain really comes down.

I'll definitely be taking a good look at the 2nd half over.  Someone else posted a stat on Detroit in the 4th quarter with that bet being 5-1 on the season.  If the game is close at halftime... I'll be looking for points in the 2nd half.

Weather seems to be okay now.

1H Total Points Under 23.5 for 1st Half -123

As for the 2nd half, I think I'm gonna lay off it.  If Cutler is getting Xrays, I can't be sure he'll be back.  Initially liked the over, especially since Detroit was still in it...  but the Lions are stinkin up the joint.

GL if you play the 2H total.  I'm gonna take the money and run.

Yeah, I think Detroit at a pick was the play.  Already moved to -140 at heritage.

Cutler will be conservative even if he does come back for the second half (doubtful?), and the Loins showed they could move the ball on the defense on their last two drives.  They just couldn't hold on to the ball.

GL to all.

Ya, I think they'll play clock control ball and lean on the defense.  We could be in for a slow moving 30 mins...
