SF beat by Football Gods not NYG

Question

When it&#39;s not your day, it&#39;s not your day! This game was gift wrapped to the NYG who should thank  the football gods tonight for screwing the 49ers. Kyle Williams gave the NYG 10 points and the win in OT that all the Giants had to do was kneel down and kick a FG. He fumble a reverse early then 2 Punt returns. He was terrible, he fair caught a ball when he had 20 yds of running room then dove to catch another punt. WTF were the 49ers thinking leaving him in this game? The bad luck continued with a pressured Eli throwing a duck that should have been intercepted by 2 49ers but they collided. Then Eli pressured again throws another duck that should have been picked but 2 49ers collided again! Wow 2 sure interceptions dropped because of defenders colliding. Then with the game tied and around 3 min left in the game Bradshaw fumbles, Niners recover but wait the play was called dead?? That was the only play that was not played to completion! I&#39;m not going to say check that refs finances because I&#39;m sure the NFL is already. You know what is the killer, with all the plays going the NYG way the 49ers kept the Giants in check and sent the game to OT. The defense played lights out in the second half of the game and OT and if Williams doesn&#39;t fumble twice giving the Giants the ball inside the 30 twice they would not have scored after half time. Eli was beat up! He didn&#39;t even know where he was in the 4th Q. Cruz was beat up in the 4th Q and couldn&#39;t even make a cut. The niners D beat these guys up bad! I will give it to Cruz who had a great 1st half!The 49ers offense wasn&#39;t very good but they played conservative field position football and scored enough to beat the NYG. SF was clearly the better team and now NE is going to crush the NYG in this revenge bowl. If the Football gods can&#39;t be blamed, then I blame coaching for letting Kyle Williams touch the ball when he clearly wasn&#39;t ready to return punts or even run a reverse.

Yes if SF just plays without a punt returner or just has him fair catch everything they win.

The Giants D was ok but I think the SF offense clearly lacks a WR. Although they didn't need it because they play conservative field position football.

Obviously Ginn Jr being injured was a huge factor in this game.

The Giants were outplayed. Kyle Williams gave the game away.

Having said that......The Niners are back. That D is the real deal.

They need to add a few WRs.......a deep threat and a slot receiver.

Wont be at all surprised to see SF get another crack at it next year. Harbaugh did an AMAZING job with this team. Specifically with Alex Smith. Imagine how productive this kid could be if he actually any weapons at the receiver position. Granted the tight end is a stud. But he is the only playmaker they have in the passing game.

Alex gets a bad wrap, he has no WRs. If you notice Vernon Davis and him seem to connect just fine. That&#39;s because Davis can get open and the rest of the WRs can&#39;t. If they get some WRs and keep that defense together, look out! The defense is young and will be great for years to come. Niners will be contenders every year with that D.

Wow. What a bunch of crybabies. Turnovers win games. Giants zero- SF two=ballgame. Williams had no business being anywhere near that kick that hit his knee, and the gmen forced the last fumble by knocking it out of his hands. Two great defenses, but look at Eli&#x27;s stats vs Smith. Eli threw for over 300 yds while Smith did not make 200. Sf may be back, but the Giants are the true road warriors

Zeus i wanted the giants to win, but i have to agree with you, special team blunders and db collisions into each other beat the 49 ers.at times the 49 ers were able to drive down field against the giants defense almost effortslessly.tha giants offense was miserable, and i count myself lucky that I hit my giants play

1-13   3rd  down  conversions make it hard  to  win.  only  one or  two  mistakes can cost the  game. &#xD;&#xA;san fran played hard hitting on defense,  props to them.

Hey, Great game all. Hands down to Niner's Defense, that made it a really exciting and close game. Yes, Williams did end the game. But Niner fans think about this the real turning point was 0-11 on 3rd down conversions. That just don't mix well with winning the game. Heck for what I see OT might not even be needed if Niners had converted a few 3rd downs.

I really wish they would have put Kendell Hunter back there, they did in a few games earlier in the year, it was sad for a pretty good game to end like that, fumble right in their territory in O.T??? 9ers special teams had been solid ALL YEAR, and in the end HELPED fumble away their SB chances. Props to D.thomas he was in the right place @ the right time TWICE.

S.F. was at home, playing on a wet track (which greatly benefits teams like them that like to pound the ball and play defense.) Playing against an east coast team that had to fly across the country. If this game is at the Meadow Lands, than the Giants win by 14. The better team won the game, period.

says who???  what world are you living in, that you believe you know what would have happened if SF hadn&#x27;t fumbled those two punts?  if i&#x27;m not mistaken, the 2nd fumble came in OT, with SF still about 80 yards away from a score... and their offense was getting more and more anemic every series... in what world was it a sure thing that SF was going to put up a score before the Giants, IF that punt hadn&#x27;t been fumbled...please join the rest of us in the world of reality...

At the end of the day San Fran was horrid on 3rd down.. Also Smith is a very very very average QB at best.. A little pressure and he crumbles like a cookie.. Better team won..
