In Eli's case to call guys that I think are not on his level better than him is silly and I will use his ring, SB MVP and his 4 road playoff wins that year to bolster my argument. He had a lot of TOs last year but look at his other #s they were top tier #s
so eli had one good month of football and an amazing defensive carrying him and you say he is better than rivers? rivers is way more accurate and way more talented. just look at the career stats. a ring doesnt mean much when evaluating talent , like it was said before football is a team sport and a mediocre qb can have a hot month of play and an amazing TEAM to carry him. both those things do not make him an elite qb.
as you can see without Plax he hasnt done much, where as RIVERS had nobody and still lead a powerful offense all on his shoulders. he made nobodies look good. |

#77 Posted: 9/13/2011 11:18:49 AM Eli... he looks like he has downs syndrome... to me... he would be the last QB I would pick to LEAD my team... why... because he always looks like he is ready to fall asleep... or the type of guy that if you were out in a bar hanging with him and a few of the guys and a fight broke out... he would run calling for mommy.
F@ck all the numbers... the guy just makes me want to punch him in the face and say "yo... jerk off... get some fire in ya, ya little girl... wake up!"
I like to see the NYC area teams do well... but that Eli... he would be the last guy I would have leading my team... he just looks like an idiot... and often plays like one.

Manning threw for 4000 yds last year and 31 TDs . He doesnt have the greatest receiving corps in the NFL

He also led the league in turnovers. Of course, Eli lovers will say that NONE of those were his fault. The fact is - if Eli's last name wasn't Manning - we wouldn't be having this conversation. The Giants would have kept Warner as their starter (which they would have done if they were ... smart) and even if Eli had won a title by getting hot for four weeks and riding a great D - people would realize Eli was closer to Jeff Garcia or Trent Dilfer than Tom Brady.
Eli isn't the worst QB in the league. But he's not in the top 10 either. Not even close.

#93 Posted: 11/7/2011 3:12:48 AM I am a Giants fan, watching Eli will shorten my life span, but he gets it done when needed, had five 4th quarter comebacks this yr, that alone is amazing, if Brady had five 4th quarter comebacks this year everyone would be talking how amazing a season it is. Since it is Eli people will still criticize him.I may not put Eli top 5, but he is not far off, and I will say he is the best in NFC East. And for people criticizing Eli for turnover last year, look at them, many of them were his WR faults, dropped passes that ended up in defenders hands, had 3 alone in one game.

*** Eli Super Bowl MVP**** it 's clear too me that you don't know much about football. This should be a guy you should consider leading your team. How many QB right now playing in the NFL have won a Super Bowl MVP? |

#96 Posted: 11/7/2011 6:05:16 AM Vick,Romo Ruvers,Schaub, Freeman ------------

freeman is 2nd year...give him some time
the rest are ridiculous
QBs get better when they have less responsibility. Schaub is actually great this year but he's throwing 8 less passes a game than he did last year. good running game, good defense make a QB much better than he is

hes a super bowl mvp, has gotten better and better with the exception of last years debacle, and has dealt with a team who has been battered by injuries in recent years. Only guys better then him are rodgers brady brees and maybe big ben but thats close!

#100 Posted: 11/7/2011 9:36:22 AM Yeah, Eli beat the Pats in the Super Bowl, and he bet them again yesterday.
Everyone on Earth is correct, ANY quarterback could have done this. He's just lucky......
As far as Phil Rivers not having anybody, that is also true. Ladanian Tomlinson has always sucked, and so has Antonio Gates.... |
