Colts signed Kerry Collins today. Here is a very well written article on how stupid the Colts have been with this whole back-up QB situation and just echoes my thoughts on the entire process.

God this shit is so frustrating. It's not that Kerry Collins is terrible, it's just that Irsay should have done this WEEKS AGO when the lockout ENDED. What the fuck was he thinking?

If he had any doubt about Peyton being healthy, which OBVIOUSLY HE DID, why the fuck wasn't done this done earlier.

GAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH. I hate to say it, but those predicting the Colts downfall this year might be right on.

that sucks, i have colts to win the superbowl and to win their division lol.

glad i didnt bet on them week 1 though, i was waiting on peytons status knowing that +2.5 at the time wasnt worth jumping on..

As a Titans fan this makes me happy. Kerry collins cant throw the yard beyond 15-20 yards without it being a wounded duck.when kenny britt caught over 200 yards against philly, he had to come back to the ball everytime cause kerry under threw it :D cant wait to see kerry collins fail again

fuck, this sucks... awell, glad i didnt hammer those plays. Ill still lose a couple hundred but it could be worse.

I said in my thread that it was a lock the Colts would miss the playoffs you said i was crazy    Don't worry they will be back next season.

What book still has that line up?

When it comes back and Peyton isn't playing Houston will be -9.5.

I said last year knowing that this year THE COLTS home is hosting The Bowl so far the teams who were selected to Host the super bowl

Never saw the chance or missed playoffs that year  !
The Dolphins got close long ago way back in the 80's

but went out in div round !

i didnt think peytons injury was that bad but it concerns me more...i still think they have a strong chance to win the division. No need to panick, i still think peyton will be back if not for week 1 then by at the latest week 3...  I saw an interview with dungy and he said peyton will play..

no way -9.5.... if peyton doesnt play probably at the most -7.5, at the very most..

Let's just say he misses game 1 this year. He will not have practices or played with the team since the 1st round of the playoffs. To me that's too much time for a quarterback to go without throwing to their receivers. He will not get his timing back til at least the beginning of October by then the team will be 2-3 then they have an uphill battle.

They should've gotten Favre.

If Aaron Rodgers is worth 6.5 points on a Packer team that has lots of other pieces then I imagine Peyton Manning is worth much more than that. He's probably the most valuable player in the NFL in terms of the spread. This line opened around a pk and sat at HOU -2.5 before it was pulled. Add the fact that the Colts have looked terrible and will probably get slaughtered again this week I think this line will be high. Maybe 9.5 is a bit of a stretch but 8.5/9 aren't but for all intents and purposes -7.5 to -9.5 are the same because 8 and 9 are dead numbers and good books like Pinnacle will send out a 9/9.5 instead of a 7.5 to avoid the key teaser numbers.

Manning would be healthly enough to start if Irsay and the other owners didn't lock them out, so he has no one to blame but himself. Manning's surgery was put off because he couldn't use the team doctor so he waited to see if it ended. Since it didn't he was forced to use someone else several weeks later.

Based on Reggie Wayne's comments Peyton's neck injury is worse than they thought....he's out longer than week 1 guys...

Yeah and the Packers almost won on the road in NE without Rodgers.  Shows you how overrated all that is.

Who cares about the pre-season....

I guess the books can lay whatever number they want since everyone will overreact to Manning.  If Collins or veteran starts the line won't be that inflated. Guess we'll see.
