Bears started out very shaky this season, mostly due to Martz implementing a new system along with a makeshift OL. Bears have made adjustments, and have been playing very well over the last 8+ games. Bears beat the pack pretty soundly at soldier field early in the season (when Bears were NOT playing well). Bears later in the season lost a game at GB in which Bears had NOTHING at stake, and GB had everything to play for.
Bears did not rest too many starters for that game. But I don't care what anybody says, if you have nothing to play for, you cannot expect the best of results. Bears would have swept the pack if they had desire in their gameplan.
GB looked very hot late in the season. They beat a couple very overrated teams in PHI and ATL. The blueprint to beat PHI was exposed weeks earlier, and they lost their magic. ATL is and still is simply overrated, and it showed.
It appears that everybody and their brother is very sure that GB is the better team here, and will roll over the Bears. Nope. The home field will be massive advantage, and you can expect that one of the weapons that GB relies on most will be a non-factor - the pass rush. Another reason that the perception is that the Bears are not legit is the poor performance of Cutler. I have watched every snap of the Bears this year, and Cutler is not to blame for the struggles earlier this season. The fault lies with a weak OL earlier, along with a stubborn Martz trying to call plays downfield, when there was no line to allow a 7-step drop. The Bears have fixed both of these problems.
Bears will control the ball, and go downfield in spots. The Bears defense is superior, and the special teams are off the chart. The stadium will be absolutely rocking. I am hearing first hand reports of tickets breaking records for prices. This game is larger than the Superbowl to Bears fans.
Not only do I predict a Bears convincing win, I predict Rogers will not finish the game due to injury. Bears have one guy to scheme for and its Rogers. This game is a mismatch, and I'm surprised that so many are fooled on this one.

I am so tired of hearing how cutler sucks and how people insist on looking at this game as a rodgers vs. cutler faceoff. The Bears o-line was a complete disaster early this season... the guy was sacked 52 times. There are other players on the field and it is proven that a great quarterback isnt necessary to have a team advance to the super bowl. Just ask Rex Grossman
I too would not be surprised if the Bears win this one convincingly

Bear Down Chicago Bears!
If you just gameplan to stop him. rattle him, knock him off his game, daBEARS COULD very easily rout the Pack here.
Especially....with all the GB love going on here +145 favorite to win Super Bowl right now. Books are praying for Chi win here with all the GB action/LOVE going on right now.
Lovie will pound and run the ball, control clock, and let Aaron's ass sit freezing on the sideline. All this cheezehead LOVE gets REAL stinky and moldy SUNDAY

I don't know what game you were watching, but the one I watched saw the Bears pull off a miraculous win (which turned on a TO in Bears territory from a clean reception by a GBY receiver, when GBY was driving for the win), while getting every ounce of help the officials could give them. Nothing about that win was sound at all.
All of which says nothing about this coming game, I just couldn't let a rearranging of a past reality go uncommented on.

GB did shoot themselves in the foot in week 3 but the bears are much better. Love the way D has been playing just look at week 17 kept the packers in check should be a hard fought victory for the bears 17-13

Bears couldn't even score a TD the last time they met. Just saying.
Here's a little info. Word before and after the game is the Bears showed them nothing. They ran plays they never ran. Different formations. They worked on things. It was basically a practice game for them. They showed them nothing, because they didn't have too. And as the game went on, it became very clear of their intentions.
The way the Pack played that day, was terrible. If the Bears needed to win that game, they would have. And clearly, to anyone who knows the game, this "practice" had to be done with the starters. It makes no sense to see how the Pack defense is going to react while using backups. After all, the starters are the ones who have to react to it. You can't work on that kind of stuff watching from the sidelines.
It was completely out of character to pass that much, and basically abandon the run. Early on in the season, I would say that was their character. But after the bye, not even close. They were working on pass blocking schemes. Also paying attention to the Packers formations and reactions. It's not every day you can have a "practice" game against a team that has to win. The Bears took full advantage of it, and it should show tomorrow.
The Packers have more talent, but the Bears have a much better coaching staff top to bottom.

You must have been watching a different game.
I'm not saying they tried to lose the game. And I'm not saying they didn't try to win. Of course they tried to win. They tried to win with a game plan that they thought would be best down the road. Not for that one game.
Martz has over 90 blocking schemes in his offense. After the bye, he took about 90% of them out, as the line was not good enough to execute them. He put a lot of them back in for this game to see if the line has improved enough to maybe work some of them back into the rotation. From what I saw, there was very little, if any at all improvement there.
So again. The Bears did try to win. But with a "practice" mentality game plan.

Bears wanted that game, folks! you seriously need to stop thinking that game is a measuring stick for this one... i can't believe how many people are going to lose their ass betting on the Bears this week... but i'm comforted...
and by the way, if you look around this site, there are far more riding the Bears death-wagon then there are "drinking the Packers Kool Aid"... so if there's gonna be a bloodbath, you're all gonna be a part of it!
