Pitt -2.5 @ TB is a tricky game to me... TB is 2-0 and at home, getting points but Pittsburghs also 2-0 and theyre the better team! Pitt has a lot of questions at QB with Dixon going down but Batch is a Veteran and will be able to manage this game and he has enough ability to Win this game. Couple that with their Elite Defense and I like giving a FG. TB has been a HUGE surprise to start the 2010 Season but Pitt is very good! Pitt -2.5 seems like a "gift" against a bad team who is over achieving, as I just cant see the Bucs moving to 3-0 at the Steelers expense! We shall see...
Atlanta +3.5 @ NO, the time is NOW for ATL! Inner-Division Foes clash and the Saints are at home, while Turner might be banged up, but the Saints have a couple BIG injuries on Defense and Atlanta is a great young team. I like this spot for them... I dont love it though, tread carefully.
Cincinnati -2.5 vs Carolina, I tossed and turned on this pick but I just cant bring myself to "trust" a rookie QB in Claussen, up against an underrated secondary. The Bengals are on the road, which does scare me, against a team who can run the ball VERY well, AND theyre coming off of a BIG division victory against Baltimore... But they have enough weapons to put up 28 Pts against this Panthers D and id be surprised if Carolina scores 3 times... Gimme the Bengals.
Dallas +3.5 @ Houston: the Battle for Texas! Dallas is playing pretty awful right now and I hate to take them on the road, outside of their division, against a good team. Normally, I think i'd love Houston here but it seems like such a perfect spot for the Boys. Theyre 0-2 and I just cant see them falling to 0-3, this is a "Must Win" for Dallas!
Cleveland +13 @ Baltimore, Division game in the toughest Division in Football... these teams always pound on eachother and honestly, if this game were in Cleveland, Id think about playing the ML... but its not and the Ravens are the better team. Cleveland will hang tough here... i think!
NY Jets +2.5 @ Miami: Rival game, where I think the Jets "must win". In their division, where Miami would move to 3-0 and the Jets would fall to 1-2, 2 games back. Im not a fan of the Jets on the Road but I do think Rex Ryan gets his team ready for this game and he should exploit Miami, stopping the Run cold and forcing Chad Henne to beat them. The Jets D will focus on stopping the Fins aggressive Rushing Attack, and once they do that, it lessens the effectiveness of the Play Action Pass... Throw-in some exotic Blitz packages and Henne should be under durress all Sunday Night!
Chicago +3.5 vs GB: This game will decide whether or not the Bears are "contenders" or "pretenders"... I, for one, Loved them last week and think theyre for real... Their Defense and Special Teams has been good for a very long time now, finally they have a QB with a BIG TIME arm, a versatile RB (their Running Game hasnt been great but Forte has been able to make plays through 2 Weeks!), and a pretty explosive Receiving Corp! Knox is a great deep threat with awesome Speed, Hesters a playmaker, and Olsen is being utilized in the passing game, not enough, but enough to create mismatches. GB is always GREAT against the Run but the Bears have already had 2 consecutive Weeks where they havent ran the ball well early and eventually abandon their running game, relying on Cutler to lead the way... So far, hes been up to the task! I really like the Weapons that Martz has, a Big Time Arm with Cutler, a couple outside Deep Threats at WR, and a RB who can beat you a few different ways. Plus GB doesnt really have much of a running game with Grant out... I think Chicagos got enough Offensive Weapons to keep up with GB, their Defenses should be a "wash", and Chicagos definitely got the edge in Special Teams play... I think both Defenses are good enough to slow eachothers Offenses down and I think this game comes down to one factor... Can Jay Cutler protect the football? If he can avoid turning over the ball more than 2 times, i think the Bears Win.
I HATE all of these picks being around a Field Goal!!! (except Cleveland) I honestly didnt like the card when it opened and I still dont really like it now!!! Bought the hook on ALL games with 3 Spreads... All games are 1 Unit plays but I might change the night games depending on the 1 n 4 outcomes.... Goodluck!!!
Hoping to go 5-2 as I dont care much for this weeks games... Great season so far, lets hope this week doesnt dampen it!!!!
