I had this crazy dream that I was in the Saints locker room before the Super Bowl--
Sean Payton put on a video showing the devastation of the Hurricane and the damage it did to the CITY and to the SUPERDOME-
The video went on to show families living in the Superdome and houses destroyed by the Hurricane.
Then they showed the victory vs the Falcons in the first game back at the Superdome--
People have been known to accomplish GREAT feats in LIFE when pushed into a corner. I wonder if the Saints staff will MANIPULATE the SAINTS player by USING EMOTIONALLY CHARGED TACTICS such as USING footage of the HURRICANE, homeless people, people hurt, people living on the streets to PUT the players in a FIGHT OR FLIGHT syndrome? This is likely what the GIANTS did vs the PATS, they likely had the US vs the WORLD mentality and they WON that superbowl.
My dream seemed so REAL. I remember there was no NOISE at all in the Saints locker room.
There was complete silence in the Saints locker room, no one was talking, all the players were thinking about the Hurricane and the City and the PEOPLE of the city and how they are playing much more than a FOOTBALL game-
The Defensive lineman looked like they were ready to ENTER a hostage situation where they were going to BUST in and launch an ASSAULT on would be HOSTAGE TAKERS-- Ie MANNING
(this could be WHY GREG WILLIAMS is saying he will try and HURT MANNING, because I BELIEVE THAT IS THEIR INTENTION)
Not one player was looking at another player, they were all sitting with their heads down in an EMOTIONAL state that could be described as READY TO GO TO WAR--
I remember it so vividly, the players were just sitting there and READY TO GO TO WAR for their CITY- They were taking this not as a GAME but as DEFENDING THEIR CITY FROM ANOTHER ATTACK- When people are DEFENDING their PEOPLE or TEAM they are capable of incredible THINGS- Men have lifted 2000 pound cars off people who are trapped underneath them- People have swam long distances and survived incredible situations.
The HURRICANE devastated their CITY, they have done well, but NOW look at this as a PERSONAL opportunity to get REDEMPTION and win it for the PEOPLE----
I cannot say the COLTS are playing for the PEOPLE of INDY, they are playing for a football team and primarily as individuals---
My dream made me THINK if this is how the SAINTS are taking this game, much like the GIANTS did vs the PATS can the RESULT be a TEAM REFUSING TO LOSE and doing anything to WIN this game?
PS I HAVE THE COLTS TO WIN IT ALL at 3 to 1 odds also, so this is pretty weird but I had this dream and cannot get that IMAGE of that SCARY SILENT LOCKER ROOM where the players LOOKED POSSESSED and IN ANOTHER STATE OF MIND where it seemed like they were READY FOR A WAR.
If the Saints are READY for a WAR and that VIVID picture of NOT ONE SINGLE word being SAID in the locker ROOM before the game is TRUE I can see them having a shot at this GAME for sure.
To lead a team into battle sometimes it is better to say NOTHING as every member of the team KNOWS WHAT IS AT STAKE and what to DO-

PS IF I was the COACH of the SAINTS I would use the ABOVE TECHNIQUE as from my experience in the field of HUMAN BEHAVIOUR I believe this would work very well with NFL players-
I dont know if PAYTON is this smart to try and use this type of manouever but I know it would work wonders--
It would UNITE the SAINTS players as ONE UNIT, like a POLICE RIOT SQUAD TEAM and with the SILENCE it would give the message that this is WAR, there is no time for TALK and speaches, its WAR TIME and TIME TO DO BATTLE and GO OUT and PROTECT EACH OTHER and WIN IT FOR THE PEOPLE.

I dont know why I dreamt this, but I swear it FELT so real like I was there, and now I am thinking that this Might be the approach the SAINTS USE--
Teams that people count out seem to RISE to the CHALLENGE in these superbowl of LATE because the players HAVE THE US vs the WORLD Mentality which brings them to do their best because nothing motives athletes better than people DOUBTING or telling them they cannot win-- They have been told that their entire LIFE, you wont make it, you are chasing a DREAM, so when they are already in teh NFL, and they are DOUBTED by the PUBLIC ie everyone talking about MANNING, these players take that shit personally and a threat to their EGO and their existence which is WHY the dogs win games like this outright---
A couple of examples were Denver beating GBAY a few years back
Giants beating the PATS and CARDS almost shocking the world last year vs Steelers---

Its a very dirty TACTIC but I would not be surprised if the SAINTS use some sort of footage showing injuries to PEOPLE or bring in someone who has suffered injuries during the Hurricane to INSPIRE the team--
I am thinking that this may be a lot more than a GAME this Sunday and I dont know if the Colts are prepared for this--
I mean look at WARNER and FAVRE, both were HIT not by football HITS, they were HIT by TORPEDOE style HITS, ie players attacking like they were in a FIGHT for their LIVES--
With the usage of EMOTIONALY charged FOOTAGE I believe this will bring out the PROTECTION instincts in the SAINTS and this is why it seems like they were trying to KILL WARNER and FAVRE, I have not seen a QB take hits like that in YEARS---
The COLTS may not be looked as a FOOTBALL team and an OPPONENT, the SAINTS may look at the COLTS as a HEALING opportunity, an opportunity for HEALING and an opportunity for a CITY to be REBORN--
From these angles, other than MANNING being amazing, I think its pretty clear that the SAINTS will clearly be the more motivated team, I mean read this, it probably motivates someone who is reading this, just imagine that LOCKER ROOM and the SILENCE--
Now I ask anyone to answer this QUESTION--
What can the COLTS do in their LOCKER ROOM to COUNTER the SAINTS locker room? THere is not much that CALDWELL can say to get his team in the state of MIND that the Saints players are in, that is a fact unless he explains what the players are going to be up against--
In the Giants vs PATS game, the PATS were not ready for the GIANT pass rush all game long, they were not prepared for what they GIANTS pass rushers and DEFENSE was bringing to the TABLE that day--
This is an interesting ANGLE and one that I think could be KEY to this GAME.

All the Stats that say MANNING has been sacked only a few times is NICE but it would be a situation like this that would allow the Saints to PENETRATE the Colts O line and make sacks on manning and hit him--
The Saints have made it CRYSTAL CLEAR, they have been attacked by a Hurricane and are PISSED off and now they are WILLING to do anything even ILLEGAL HITS and downright Mafia Style Moves such as Breaking Knees, Chop blocks, Torpedoe style blitzes where the player launches himself like a HUMAN torpedoe at the QB, Sharper TORPEDOED Favre last week early and Favre was injured the whole game after that--
This team will do anything to WIN, they would glady have their BEST defensive player EJECTED out of the game even if he took ONE late HIT at MANNING because as WILLIAMS said I DOUBT It that MANNING would be able to PLAY after a dirty HIT-- He would likely be knocked out, have a concussion or be HURT seriously-
This team is a very dangerous team is the Saints because they are GOOD to start with, and they are downright DIRTY, and are playing for the People of New Orleans and the Players take that very personally, its like fighting a WAR only on the football field--
IF the SAINTS play football I think they have a 25% chance of Winning this GAME-
If the Colts play football I think they have a 75% chance of Winning this Game-
If the Saints START a WAR and Not a football game, then I give them the EDGE and a 60-70% % chance of Winning this Game.
I dont believe the COLTS are capable of Competing in a WAR with the SAINTS, they dont have that type of team with those type of CHARACTER players you need to go to WAR- They will likely fall short in a WAR to the the SAINTS who will use KATRINA and the PEOPLE to give them the SURGE and the ADRENALIN that will make them just POSSESSED and a very focussed team and a very physical team that will be out to BRING the trophy home to the CITY.

After my DREAM i started to think why did i have this DREAM? So i thought about it deeper and the conclusion I came up was the following--
Both the Colts and the Saints are not football teams and are FIRE FIGHTERS--
The Colts are known to be one of the BEST firefighting Units in the USA EASTERN part of USA-- They have one of best CAPTAINS ie MANNING and he is very good at what he does rescuing people in fires-
The SAINTS are known to the one of the BEST firefighting Units in the USA Western Part of USA- They have a Good unit with Brees and other great fire fighters--
A building is ON FIRE and both the SAINTS and COLTS are called to the building to rescue people inside the building--
The COLTS and Manning are very good at rescuing and do whatever they can to rescue as many people, but they do not know any of the people inside the burning buildings- They do a good job as usual rescuing people.
The SAINTS and Brees show up the burning building and are ACTING like its their family members in the burning building, so they go into the building with courage and are fearless and will do whatever it takes to rescue everyone and get them out of the building-
This is the difference that I find is that the SAINTS have a PERSONAL agenda in this game and PERSONAL AGENDAS can be a very BIG advantage when competing in SPORTS.

The Colts are a brilliant outfit in fact the favorites due to their excellence.
However if there is a team that can give the Colts trouble it will be a team that can score and RUN and PASS vs them can do--
Stopping Manning has been very very hard to do. I guess you would have to be lucky and make a few INTs or fumbles which the Saints have done all year vs teams-
Ask yourself after watching the ENTIRE season what are the 2 hardest hits you remember a QB taking- It was both Warner and Favre hits, those hits were not NFL HITS, those hits were LEGAL although the ferociousness and the Speed and the WAY they were HIT was like nothing I Have seen in my life, WARNER was likely hit by the impact of a car accident, he was absolutely pummeled by that Saints player who had ONE shot and basically finished him that game- does not matter how good you are when you get HIT that hard--
Then Favre made a nice throw but has a HUMAN projectile MISSILE in the form of 6'3 225 pound Darren Sharper coming straight at his CENTRE OF MASS area to inflict serious Damage to FAVRES body-
Dont under estimate this Saints team, they will bring it hard, if nothing else they have shown what they are capable of---
Everyone is counting them out, ESPN is not giving them a chance, all experts are going vs them, the public is on the Colts, no one believes they can win except for the saints themselves.

Sammy you are a good writer and had a very vivid dream but all good dreams must end sometimes! This game is about the legacy of Manning..he raises it a few more notches after he leads the Colts to victory!

Why can't WE beat Peyton Manning at full strength? The guy isn't perfect and soon we will see.
Greatest of all time, possibly. Flawless. No.
Agree 100%. He has already been presented with the MVP Awawd before the game has even been played. The mere fact that the Saints are given maybe a 20% chance to win by most "experts" and JP should be motivation enough. They are the most resilient team I have seen in years. Loosing 3 straight peeps said "oh they are done". "No team has ever..." The against the Vikes again they played the way they have all year in creating TO's and making good. Farve was done in that OT no matter what. He was beat up and wouldn't even consider the run in OT because he didn't want to be "torpedoed" again. If Manning thinks his health and career are in peril he will throw a duck or three out there for the taking. Vikes, Colts, and Saints had the best O lines this year. Few can argue that. How many times did Farve get hit? Gregg W. Is preparing his guys for battle indeed. This SB is exactly the reason most of us love this game. Can't predict the final but I GUARONTEE it will be a doozy fellas. Enjoy and BOL to ALL.

SAMMY_MEATBALLS, thanks for the time you have put in here and all year man. Guys like you and vanzack, URIS, PTB, COOLER, and a few other cats make these forums worth it.

If the Saints are READY for a WAR and that VIVID picture of NOT ONE SINGLE word being SAID in the locker ROOM before the game is TRUE I can see them having a shot at this GAME for sure.
To lead a team into battle sometimes it is better to say NOTHING as every member of the team KNOWS WHAT IS AT STAKE and what to DO-
Thoughts?
i wish i could frame this! this is one of the funniest fucking things i have ever seen around here...
come on guys... share your thoughts? do you agree that if his dream is true and it is silent in the locker room that the Colts won't be ready for WAR?
what are people supposed to say to this?
"yea... i think your dream was real, and that the locker room will be silent"
