Respected Vegas sharp bets $200,000 on Colts to win Super Bowl

Matt Youmans of the Las Vegas Review-Journal wrote an interesting piece about onslaught of Colts action for this weekend's Super Bowl.

The story includes a quote from Jimmy Vaccaro, director of operations for Lucky's sportsbook, saying he thinks the line will close at Colts -7 by kickoff.

"I really think we're going to see a line that reaches 7 before the game. I didn't think that 48 hours ago, but I do now," Vaccaro told the Vegas paper Sunday night.

Youmans also writes that several sources told him "the most respected sports bettor in Las Vegas" wagered $200,000 on the Colts to win the game at a book on the Strip.

saints catching 7? but that to 7.5 and you have an all-in type situation for me...

Would be a great value. Really don't see them needing more than 4 though. Looking at the entire season, the Colts have had trouble against D's like the Saints have. Good, not great. Saints also throw a helluva lot of looks at you. More confusion for Manning. Especially at first. He will adjust and then a different look will be in front of him. I don't think I need to say much about the Saints O. I see this going score for score for most of the game. I also can see a late turnover spelling defeat. Not sure for who though. I will be on the Saints +5-7 and ML light.

did you guys not even read the opening post?  seriously... figure it out!  the Colts are winning this game, without a doubt!  it is just a matter of how much...

do you really want to take your chances getting a TD or less with a team that will definitely lose the game?

Why cause he bet 200k for the Colts to win, we are suppose to think the SAINTS are gonna lay down and get beat? Please stop with all your BS. BTW go look up clod in the dictionary and let me know what it says .

Nobody knows if this is true. Just like you believe the Colts are going to win, I believe the SAINTS will win or at least cover the spread ! No one knows, but what if a injury to Manning happens in the first quarter and he's out? Anything can happen in football. If Brees goes down so do the SAINTS.I believe the SAINTS have the better TEAM. Have no fear if I'm wrong I'll be around to give praises to all COLTS backers. If I'm right lets see how many are around to praise the SAINTS.

At least the saints made the super bowl.  It's all gravy from here for long time fleur de lis fans like pete and me.

I respect ice but hope he's wrong.  You too pete, all the respect in the world.

this thread isn't about whether or not the Colts or Saints will win... it is about a sharp placing a $200,000 bet on the Colts ML...

yes, anything can happen in football... i don't place a bet on my hope that anything can happen... i place my bet based on the hope that the most likely outcome will happen...

another typical saints fan. i am neither. i think it goes like this, don't bet with your heart, bet with your head. kinda like poker, dont let your feelings control you.

it says he wagered "200,00 on the colts to win", which i actually assume means hes on the money line.
