#54 Posted: 1/28/2010 1:36:34 PM All coaches are overrated unless they are directly responsible for picking the talent. Players win championships. Great coaches coach great players.

#55 Posted: 1/28/2010 1:50:26 PM There is a huge piece on ESPN.com today about Dungy "helping" and mentoring.
Funny how everyone he feels the need to help is black. Maybe Dungy is a racist?

We shall see, the Colts defense have not seen an offense like the Saints all yr. Saints defense made Kurt retire, and Brett |

It appears that you are serious and not joking with this statement.
So either you crave attention with your post or you are just plain idiot. |

Judging by this brilliant answer i would say you are both - craving attention (your skin color disclosure - i never asked, btw) and an idiot.

#70 Posted: 1/29/2010 10:19:32 PM I wonder who the NFL changed its rules to benefit....the COLTS are over-rated (including Manning). The league has been a joke ever since they castrated the defenses. |

#75 Posted: 1/30/2010 1:13:21 PM Of course, most "great" coaches had good QBs, but the fact still remains that Dungy is overrated. The fact that the Colts only have one super bowl appearance before this year is proof of that. They should have gotten the Pats once or twice, they should have gotten past the Chargers the last 2 years and they definitely should have beaten the Steelers in '05 when Dungy turned the switch off after week 14. And we won't even talk about his time in Tampa. I live in Indy and most didn't care that he left and many, like myself, were glad. And Caldwell is not the same. He immediately got rid of our special teams coach who had never been able to get us out of the cellar in special teams ranking, he also decided to start blitzing more on defense, which gave our D a little more teeth. He has done a better job of building this team up to their potential whereas Dungy allowed our potential to rot on the vine.
And then, of course, the "image" that someone mentioned and how the media fell in love with him because of who he is (read between the lines) and what he stood for. Well, he was a nice guy and the players seemed to like him, but many do not know that he has been paid to be a speaker for the Family First group in Florida who have no qualms about being anti-happy, so Tony isn't all that "Christian" after all. Besides, what's a football coach weighing in on matters like that for (besides getting a nice speaking fee).
Signed, Glad He's Not Our Coach Anymore. Go Colts!! |
