Will the 13-0 Indianapolis Colts opt for safety over perfection on Thursday in Jacksonville vs. the Jaguars?
Indy has clinched top-spot in the conference and the AFC South and
home-field throughout the postseason and there has been some suggestion
that the team could rest its starters.
The Colts say they will play their starters on Thursday, for part of the game at least.
“We’re going to approach the 14th game exactly like we did one through
13,” Indy head coach Jim Caldwell told The Indianapolis Star.
“We’ve got a great rhythm in terms of our preparation and we’re going
to go out and play it just like we have done the previous 13.”
While undefeated Indianapolis is 7-3 SU in its last 10 overall against Jacksonville, it is also 3-7 ATS.

even if the 2nd or 3rd stringers play the second half, the Colts will cover (assuming Peyton Manning gives them a pretty good lead by half-time).
my problem with betting the Jags is there offense has been stagnant the past few week at HOME - - - MJD has been kept in check and their passing game has been non-existent with WR Sims-Walker hobbling.

no. not with second string. Indy is going to rest those who have been playing hurt for some part of season. that's a fairly long list of folks. will Peyton play, and if so ....how long .... who knows. risky bet.... But I think JAX wins if we see Curtis Painter .

good point sir. that 1 loss ATS in the 3-1-1..... is this year (as you know) first game of the season. I think it's a good line. still uncertain as to what I'll do.

If it's a close game, Peyton will play the whole game. Therefore, I think Indy -3 is the right play, cause if it's tied, Peyton will get a TD to win it, then Colts will hold on for the 7 pt win.

Tough to cap Indy these last three weeks as you know they will rest a lot of players - probably staying away from this one or will take a look at the under.

Peyton Manning & Drew Brees are on a mission & what the coaches say during the week is a bunch of b.s. They are playing the same game Belichick use to not telling the media the truth. Both the Colts & the Saints are going for 16-0

I can't touch it. Hell, i am not so sure Caldwell knows how long he will play many of them. Has there really been enough seen of the man's coaching to make a call here?? Not for me...i'll be watching to see if a halftime play finds me.

The Colts have been undefeated just about every season the past few years, and every season they prove they don't value the undefeated regular season at all, and I don't think this year is any different. Plus, the Colts have been flirting with a loss for the past 6 weeks, escaping with wins in games they easily could have lost for 4 straight weeks(Hou twice, NE, and Balt) before grabbing more conventional wins the past two weeks. They were outgained in 5 of those 6 games, which further shows their vulnerability. Also, this Colts team has nothing to play for, and you can't tell me their full focus is on this game when there is surely some days off coming up after this game with the long layoff prior to Week 16.
On the Jags end, they always play the Colts tough. Jack Del Rio seems to have a good read on defending Peyton Manning, and the Jags have covered 3 of the last 4 meetings ATS. The Jags pass defense allowed Manning to throw for 301 yards in their first meeting, but only allowed 14 total points in a 14-12 loss. Another interesting stat is Manning's yardage total is the most passing yards the Jags have allowed all season, even without star CB Rasean Mathis for most of the season.
The Colts may jump out early, but there will come a time when they'll need to dig in for the fight. I just don't think their intensity will be 100%, and I look for the Jags to take advantage.
