Should I hedge this bet???

I'm really nervous if I should hedge this bet.  The Bowling Green game was a lucky push so it only pays out about 8700.  Should I hedge this?  I think the Rams stand no chance, but who knows.

I figured I could wait closer to gametime and possibly hit St. Louis at 11 or 11.5.  How awesome would a middle hit be?  Any ideas from some of the posters on the board.

When I do hedge, my original bet hits,  When I don't hedge, my parlay busts.  I'm a jinx.

Considering that, $500 on a 5 teamer seems logical

Just out of curiosity, why do you guys think I would make something like this up?  It doesn't put money in my pocket.  I did the $500 parlay with some of the house's money.  I know it was crazy and stupid, but it looks like a real possibility to hit.  The Bowling Green push and Angels run line was lucky.  I was just starting a thread to see what your thoughts on hedging were.  I guess I should not have asked.

I'm actually having thoughts of not hedging this.  How is St. Louis going to keep up with Minnesota?  I just don't think the Rams have the personnel to make it happen.  The Vikes are coming off two straight home games.  I know they just played a Monday night game, but I think they realize how important this game is.  Peterson is coming off two subpar games for his standards.  AD will be looking to have a huge game today.  I just hope Minnesota D shows up.  If they do, the Rams will have a tough time scoring.

Ignore the past history between these teams.  These are two totally different teams now.  The last meeting was in 2006.  The difference now is Minnesota's O is dynamic and explosive.  They average nearly 30 PPG.  The St. Louis D is allows 27 PPG and their O only scores 6 PPG.  The Vikes D allows 20 PPG.  I know 10 points is a lot to lay in the NFL, but I think I'm comfortable taking a chance with this one.

i think this might b a good spot to do a teaser with vikes/rams...mayb im way off im jus comin home from bar n pretty drunk BUTTTTT....tease vikingz to -4 and rams to +16 and hope it is like a 24-10 kinda game and u can do a huge scooperpooper cuz lets face it...NO WAY the rams win game outright, and prob never ever keep it within 4.....i like it now, but wen i wake up who knows gl either way! 

Why would you NOT hedge it? Have you ever seen shows like 'Deal or No Deal' and crap like that? It's all total greed. If you've been in the betting game for a long enough time, you know that ANYTHING can and will happen! Why would you not hedge and guarantee yourself $7,000+??!!??  You've already said you lucked out with Bowling Green and Angels RL. HEDGE IT! WHY NOT TAKE GUARANTEED MONEY?? THAT IS THE POINT OF GAMBLING....TO WIN.

ON the flip side: If you seriously have $500 on a 5 team parlay, then I am looking for somebody to bank roll my college football system plays. They have been consistent over 12 years and currently 21-11 at a 66% winning rate.

500 to win 15 large one, house money or not I still would hedge back at least 5 even if I think my last play has a chance.

I know what the hedge backers are thinking, but here is my reasoning.  I put 500 on the parlay, so the worst that can happen is I lose 500.  Since I have one game left in my parlay, I can guarantee a +3806.36 to my bankroll with hedging.  However, I can risk that 4306.36(that includes the original 500) to add +8545.43 to my bankroll.  That's a difference of 4239.07.  This is why Vegas is the best.  I'm essentially making a 4306.36 bet to win 4239.07.  That's even after hitting four games of my parlay.  This is the bet I'll be getting.  I'm willing to take those odds.  I could hedge and guarantee the +3806.36 and have the possibility of a middle to add +4789.58 more to the original number.

The Rams are +10.5 on my book right now.  A bet of 4737 will give me a total of 9043.36 if the Rams covers. +3806.36

If the Vikes win by 10.  I would middle the Rams bet and push on that part of my parlay.  I would have 4789.58 from my parlay and 9043.36 from my Rams bet. +8595.94




Any other thoughts and suggestions?  I'm still contemplating it up until gametime.  I've been thinking about it a lot.  I just can't see how the Rams keep up.

I can get a teaser with Vikings -4.5 and Rams +16.5 at -110.  I'm just not sure about that.  Knowing my luck the Vikings would win by four.

Well, you shouldn't even have to ask yourself this.  If you are in a position to hedge, you've already made a fundamental error.

The games are on different days.  You should have left the Sunday games off the card, and, if the others won, then "parlayed" the winnings yourself, assuming you still wanted to.  The profit is larger that way anyway.

Hedging is NOT guaranteed profit... not in the long run... which is what we're all doing anyway.  (No one makes just ONE bet and then quits for life.)

Hedge if you want, but just remember that 1) you've already made a fundamental error and 2) hedging comes at a price.

Hedging yourself to break even is a no brainer.  It's not about pride man.

I might hedge at halftime, but we'll see what happens.  I just don't see St. Louis keeping this close.
