Kyle Orton vs. Jay Cutler

Jay Cutler 17-20 Career Record
                
Kyle Orton 21-12 Career Record
 
The only Stat that is important to a QB is his winning %.
 
And BY the looks of it, Denver got rid of a loser and found a winner.
 
Now Orton does not have Cutler's arm, or mouth, but he has something Cutler doesn't, an NFL winning % as opposed to a losing %.
 
So, for all the talk Orton sucks, he has won more games and has a higher winning % and for QB's that is all that matters.

I would be more impressed if you made this post before the season started.I'm also wondering where all the McDaniel haters are right now?I'm sure they will be back in force with a Bronco loss or two.Most NFL fans have a short short memory.

Love this topic.  Sadly, I would have to say I take Kyle Orton.  Jay Cutler is far more talented than Orton, but talent does not necessarily translate to success.  Whenever I think of Jay Cutler, one name comes to mind.  Jeff George.  Both QB's have the golden arm and the gunslinger mentality, but both are complete mental train wrecks.  Orton is no impressive, but one thing I have noticed about him is that his teammates like him.  I'm more than willing to bet the same can't be said for Cutler.  My big knock on Cutler is his inability to come through in the clutch.  Last year against San Diego, and arch rival Philip Rivers, he managed to fumble away the game only to get saved by the zebras.  In the rematch with the playoffs on the line he follows it up by throwing 4 picks and getting run off the field.  This year against the Packers, Cutler did all he could to lose the game.  Orton can't do half the things Cutler can with the ball, but he realizes it.  Part of Cutlers problem is he thinks he can make every throw, and that leads to his turnovers.

Orton is 24-12
Cutler is 19-21

won/loss record has a lot to do with what team you're on

I like Orton, but Cutler is clearly the better QB

Talent.  That is a bush league response.  You challenged him first to a bet.  He calls.  Then you wiggle out with a weak excuse.

For the record I think that Orton will have a better % this season as well.  Not necessarily because he is a better QB but because he is on a better team with a better defense in a weaker division.

If win percentage is the ONLY stat to look at when it comes to QB's then why is Vince Young still a back up with a 19-11 career record.
 
The QB postition is so much more than just looking at one single stat or attribute, cuz when you look at all the good ones, (such as Brady, Manning, or Brees) there isn't just one thing that makes them good, its everything they do that makes them good.

Why wouldnt Cutler pout after leading the 2nd best offense in the league and sitting at home for the playoffs....then a new coach comes in and lies about the off coord and the fact hes being shopped around?Did you guys eat paint chips as kids or what???

Chi would be lucky to be 1-2 right now if Orton was still there...Forte is gimpy so no 10 check down passes per game...Orton is a game manager at best and Denver is one tipped ball away from the same record as Chi having faced the easiest part of the sched.....the party is over
