Homework assignment #2-- Jets/Ravens-- any angles/triends/motivations appreciated..

Homework assignment #1 cashed saturday night by 1 point when the redskins came roaring back to stifle the steelers laying 3...


Now it is time to dig in and look at the last game of week 2 preseason which is the jets/ravens...

Here are the facts.. 
Jets week #2 preseason ats are 0-2
Ravens are 1-4 ats...
NO REAL ADVANTAGE HERE...

moving on..
Jets are 13-2 ats in the last 15 times they were preseason dogs...
INTERESTING... 

Ravens are 1-7 o/u in last 8
Also interesting...

Strong ats trend here with the jets as dogs on the road..

Strong lean towards the under whenever the ravens are involved...

The only things that are jumping out at me here point to the jets or the under.. 

ANYONE ELSE HAVE SOME INFO THAT CAN PROVE or DISPROVE THESE STATEMENTS???

Jets have won 10 straight august games SU
if coming off a game where they lost both su & ats.

It al depends how you look at it. I don't really pay a lot of attention as far as how teams play ATS in week 2, for example. In my opinion, I don't think that's important. Even though I do find the 13-2 ats run intriguing to say the least.
 
As far as the game goes, This will be the toughest D Mark Sanchez has played against in like... forever. And well, the Ravens' defense is stellar, they are playing at home and I'll have to read more into the gameplan tomorrow for both offenses, but I like the Ravens and the under. Even though Jets' offense has improved in the offseason the Ravens' offense should be good for some 20-24 points. I give the Jets only some 6 points.
 
Another point I see bad for this game for the Jets is that, while many other teams are having 2 training sessions a game, Rex Ryan had a very lax training camp this past week at SUNY (I forgot which one), letting the guys go and hang out at night at the local hangout spots, cancelling practice to have a day off on Friday and having the Ugly King contest for the ugliest guy on the team .

This is an attitude game," Ryan said. "This is going to be great. Baltimore is as physical a football team -- Baltimore, Pittsburgh and the Giants -- as any teams in the league and that's what we want to be. We want to be that tough, physical team that won't back down from anybody."

The positive for Sanchez, Clemens and the rest of the offense is that the Ravens' aggressive defense is similar to what the Jets have been practicing against for the last several months.

"Our defense everyday is pretty tough," Sanchez said, "so I can't say this is going to be the end-all, be-all."

Clemens agreed, saying it will be a bit easier facing a familiar defense.

Lot of interesting angles in this game with the Rex Ryan (who he coached for last 10 years, last 4 as defensive coordinator)   
 
returning to Baltimore the big one.
 
Who will be more fired up?  The Jets for their new boss cause they know how big  this game is to him
 
OR
 
the will Ravens be extra juiced vs ex- coach, especially the D.

Well i just like Jets due to them +3 at -115 now but was at -120 and Raven at even money.. i kno tha juice is high but thats why i like them.. to me tha book want xtra juice cuzz thats what they leaning on but hey if Ravens win they get even more but to me its worth tha risk.. but i follow trends also but sometime it just bite u in tha butt like Eagle & Colts game.. all trends pointed to Eagle and they lost.. Pretty dissapointed knowing it was my first post and i picked them to win and Colt being horrible at Preseason games.. So far most if not all high Money lines this week end up winning there games.. i already have Jets on a 4 teamer worth a good amount and i also played a play on ravens even money lucky me.. so im in tha money either way but i like Jets +3.. nice write ups FLOW & HighAAgin.. thats what i drink rite now too LOl.. hope u can celebrate wit me when tha nite is ova and BOL wit whatever u decide to play.. Keep it ups boys and i'll drop by wit info myself.. late..

here's an interesting stat...

the under is 32.5...

in the last 5 years during exhibition, when the total is between 31.5 - 33.5 the results have been 11-23 O/U...  that's 68% under!!!

with these two defenses, i anticipate a low scoring game..

anyone have a weather forecast for baltimore for tomorrow night???

thanks yava..  that's a pretty strong trend..

no real help from the weather for the under, unless it down pours as soon as anyone gets into the red zone!!!

based on everything that i can find, i am going to-

make a one unit bet on the jets -3 parlayed with the phillies -280

and

make a one unit bet on under 32 parlayed with the phillies -280

throwing the phillies with cliff lee in there will kill the juice and make it pay 1.5 to 1 if it hits...  plus, since it is a 1 pm game, if for some ludicris reason the phillies lose, i have until night time to play the jets and under as single bets..  but cliff lee loses to the mets 1 in 20 times...  maybe 1 in 30 even..

Another thing to consider is that some of that Ravens D is on snap count.

"

Ravens coach John Harbaugh said the starters will play into the second quarter and perhaps a half in Monday’s preseason game against the New York Jets. He indicated that some starters -- probably older veterans such as Ray Lewis, Trevor Pryce and Ed Reed -- would be on snap count.

“We’ll do it individual like we always do,” Harbaugh said."

What sort of backups do Ravens have for Lewis, Pryce and Reed?

Right now i am leaning under more than the side.

ok- phils came out on top 

so the jets and the under are still alive for 1 unit each to win 1.5 units..

ALSO ADDED ANOTHER UNIT ON UNDER 33.5 since it went up 1 point since last night...

UNDER 1.05 to win 1 unit...

Love to cross Sports, I parlay the Dow or Nascar, or Tennis with other Sports. Don't be sorry if they don't cross sports they are missing out on a chance to win GL!

taking that much juice on a parlay doesnt seem like a good thing BUT it seems like a good way to also get free juice. glass half empty and/or half full....

missed fg makes up for half of that.. 

jets need to come back and win 17-14 for me to win both bets...
