Vikings added "wildcat' offense

Supposedly this is for Percy Harvin, but I am willing to bet they are looking at Mike Vick as well. Brett Favre is not going to play for them. This is the style of QB that childress likes, since he went with sorry Tarvarius.

 The Vikes are definetly not looking at vick, since the boat scandal they've been clean..I'd say adding the wildcat is almost insurance on the favre deal to get done...
Favre under center and line up Jackson wide, makes too much sense
 
Either way they're still a mediocre team, with 1 great player

O.k....cause they dominate the line last year (10-7..mediocre) record in arguably the worst division in football last season... 
They won a wopping four games against teams with winning records!!! Yeah maybe you should do your homework dude..plus getting a year older on pat and kevin don't help much either

The Vikes have to bring in Favre now! Jackson is not the answer they need someone who can throw the ball to Harvin and Berrian both who run like the wind.

Thorton you are right about Tavarius Jackson, there was a story about Percy Harvin making a catch in practice, that was almost impossible to catch because of the bad throw by Tarvarius. I have preached this to certain Vike fans and they were convinced , last yr that he was the answer. At least Mike Vick can make some throws.

I'd rather have Sage start than TJack.  He fits the offense better IMHO.

the guy can barely throw a fuckin screen pass.


Im sure they ARE looking at Michael Vick, because anything is better TJack

Vick is not in the picture.  Neither are any of the Vikings current QB's, but Minny has to assume that they will not have the Prima Donna on their team, so here come the gagets.  Give AP the ball 30+ times a game, and then figure out gagets so they can run it 10 more times a game.  Run, run, run.  This is the only way theVikings can win without Queen Farve.

I can't believe that Sage even got a contract with the way he played that game against the Colts. I know one game can't decide your future but damn Sage, "jumping over three defenders" in the air. What the hell was he thinking?

I don't believe Vick will return as a starting QB...I can only see him as a QB on occassion when running this wild-cat type offense.

As for Minn, this offense is definitely tailored for Jackson.  This style of offense favors Jackson and if he beats out Sage for the starting position, I could see why they would implement this style of offense.

Completely disagree here.  How is it more tailored for Jackson?  Sage is a pocket passer who will get the ball out quick, which fits any west coast offense.  TJack did improve last year, but I would take Sage simply because he shows more poise in the pocket.

Just wanted to see why you think this. . .

Sorry for the cofusion, I didn't mean Minn current offense, but I'm saying if the Vikes choose to go with the "wild-cat" type of offense, it will be catering to Jacskson since he is a mobile QB.

Can they just get a QB that AT LEAST can throw the ball downfield so MAYBE AP won't have to run against 9 in the box?

guys, I live in Wisky and I watch Minny games all the time.


TJack blows.  He can't hit a wide open screen pass.  He throws behind you when he's supposed to lead you.  He throws at TE's feet 6 yards past the line of scrimmege.

If Sage can come in and hit the open man down the field the Vikings will another 10 games this year.

I agree 100% Midnight, I tried telling these knuckle heads this last year, but they wouldn't listen. I personally think Mike Vick would not be a bad pick up for them. Especially for the money, his contract would be probably less than Sage. If these Vikings fans are so caught up with Tslack, why not look at Vick?

Well at least we have some knowledgeable football fans in this thread. Tarvaris Jackson is about as bad a s it gets. He can't see more than 2 yards down the field. Then he panics and throws a checkdown swing pass, and he either lobs it up high or way behind the running back so they have to dive or stop to catch it. The loser is a drive killer. About 4 times a year, he takes 5 steps back and lofts the ball deep down the sideline without looking, and it gets caught and makes his average go up a bit. But he is awful trying to throw a football. And he can't protect it either. That fumble against Atlanta last year changed that game, and it happened because he hung the ball down at his knees and accidentally hit it with his leg, knocking it loose. How Brad Childress still has a job is beyond me. It just shows that what I've been saying for 6 years on here is true. Most of these coaches really don't know football very well. Most of you guys think they are geniuses, but they are really dumb. And so are personnel guys.
