1) Baltimore has the defense to stop Tenn. If they can put some offense together, they have a great chance. Collins has "managed" the games well all year. I think Baltimore has some momentum and that defense will stuff Johnson and make Kerry throw the ball. How many will end up in the hands of Ed Reed???
Baltimore 20 Tenn 14
2) AZ has the offense to beat Carolina. They came real close earlier in the year and actually gave that game away. If their defense can contain Williams like they did Atlantas running attack, I'll take Warner over Delhomme any day and twice on Saturdays!!! Also, Az found a little running game and that should make carolina think twice about rushing Warner so much and often.....
AZ 31 Car 28
3) Phil has a veteran qb and a solid, blitzing defense. The giants are the giants. Missing Burress will hurt more in this game than the regular season. If Phil can stuff Jacobs, Manning will have a long day throwing to Amani Toomer, Hixon and Smith....no deep threats...Mcnabb has something to prove and has been playing well...they have a ton of momentum as well......
Phil 27 NY 23
4) SD is on a roll. They've got the least to lose of any team left in the playoffs. Rivers has been given the shaft all year...no pro bowl or MVP consideration. LT and Gates have not been 100% all year. Their defense has been missing key elements all year. They finally saw what Sproles can do with a bunch of touches. Looks just as fast as he did several years ago at Kansas St. Dont think the Steelers want to see Sproles, rather a 80% LT. Big Ben hasnt done much this year and their running game has fallen off. How long can their defense keep them in the playoffs?? They already played them to the wire in Pittsburgh earlier this year.
SD 23 Pitt 17
I'm not saying, I'm just saying........

#4 Posted: 1/9/2009 3:13:49 PM yea I think there is a better chance of jesus christ himself playing in one of the nfl games this weekend. I bet if you parlayed all the dogs straight up the payout total is ridic though! |

#8 Posted: 1/9/2009 3:23:51 PM out of the 4. i am actually and have been thinking since earlier in week, doing a small moneyline parlay on ravens and eagles. anything is possible, but would not bet cards straight up with anyones money. they have been terrible on road and carolina undefeated at home. if cards can stop run which i highly doubt, it's not delhomme you got to worry about, it's that playmaker by the name of steve smith you got to worry about. |

#11 Posted: 1/9/2009 3:30:07 PM yo dixie351...I just thought about that ravens and eagles ml parlay. Laying 100 pays out 490.
Like you said, I don't think its going to happen but why not take a fraction of some other profit from the past couple of weeks and throw down on it. Even if its only 30 bucks...you're getting 150 back in return if it hits! |

Yeah, this weekend is freaking me, Train. Squarest weekend I've ever seen. Cannot force myself to like anything. You make valid points. I hope you're a big winner.

Train I know you have your Cards superbowl bet so you are definitely biased when it comes to this pick. There is one HUGE factor you are forgetting. When they played the first game at Carolina, they were playing in WARM weather. It is going to be very cold Saturday night in Carolina and possibly raining. In any cold weather road game the Cards played this year, they were blown out. (EX - at New England)

And please don't say weather isn't a factor, because it is.

Nobody said anything about playing all the favs. It's just that nobody is dumb enough to take the moneyline on all the dogs. If doing so makes you feel not 'square' then by all means go ahead, I just wish I was your bookie |

#20 Posted: 1/9/2009 4:48:31 PM I THINK YOU HAVE A BETTER SHOT AT GOING 4 AND 0 OR 3-1 OR BREAKING EVEN FOR THAT MATTER BY TAKING ALL HOME FAVS.
I DON'T KNOW FOR SURE BUT I WOULDN'T BE SURPRISED IF ALL VISITOR HOME DOGS IN ROUND 2 OF N.F.L. PLAYOFFS HAVE EVER WON IN THE HISTORY OF THE N.F.L. |

#24 Posted: 1/9/2009 7:51:46 PM I don't think all 4 road tems have ever won SU this round, I think just once or twice maybe in 30 years 3 road teams winning SU.
And remember 28 of 30 seasons 1 of the no.1 seeds has made the SB.
Anything can always happen, however, the odds are stacked mightly against it. |
