Ok here is the scenario...in a $20 pool that has 70 people in it. You start with 10,000 fake dollars and you make picks throughout the year.
Well after laying all the 58,000 i had left on Green Bay last night i find myself in first place with one week to go(The leader had the Bears).
I am a few K ahead of 2nd and 3rd.
The payouts are 1st $800,2nd $400 and 3rd $200.(I know not huge money but 800 dollars on a 20 dollar investment is pretty damn sweeet)
 
The site doesnt update the scores until the next day and with games only on Sunday this week  all i need is to let it ride on one game and i win the whole damn thing.
Thats what i am planning on doing but i am undecided on who the pick will be.
Makes it tougher since its the last week and alot of teams might not even show up.
Right now i am leaning either Dallas +1 or Carolina -3
 
Slight lean to Dallas since its a 4pm game and the guys behind me might go for a 1pm game and could be dead even before i make my pick(which makes it easier if that happened,wouldnt even have to pick a game if they both let it ride on a 1pm game and lost)
 
Anyway..any thoughts?

What site did you use to play this? Sounds very fun.
 
My pick of the week would be Atlanta -14. Leader won't see it coming and it is a great pick on its own terms. STL is horrible on the road, Atlanta needs to win and they are strongest in STL's weakest areas. Lay the 14 and I think the worst you do is push.
 
Or even better... If you can do moneyline parlays or teasers just involve most of the big mismatches where the home team needs to win to get in the playoffs and you are almost certain to profit.

SF -3 is the best bet this week and a game no one has even looked at

I love dallas this weekend. And also like the fact that you could wait til 4 to see if you even need to make a move. It's not just about the money. Its about respect! Good luck!

First off there are no totals and like i said the site only updates the following day so it would be in my best interest to just hit one game for it all and lock up the first place money.For example I cant take an early game and use those winnings for the night game.
The site is called Sunday Spread but i think its just basically a pool manager site.
 
So basically as of right now i will not take a 1pm game for sure...still like Dallas but the Jets might be an option if for say the Bills are beating NE.
I do like SF like a previous poster said but i guess i am kind of scared to let it all ride on a meaningless game.
 
Got a few days to make the choice but like i said earlier..in a perfect world the two guys chasing me go all in on an early game and hope those games are loses by 3:45pm! Wouldnt even have to pick..

realize no one likes this one but me > seattle shot their (very limited)  WAD last week in emotional send off for holmgren...cards have to get it back for playoffs ...with leinart they'll continue to score 2nd 1/2

Thats another one i am looking at..Seattle's so called playoff game was last week and they are still pretty beat up on the O line. I agree the Cards are going to want to go into playoffs on a high note. I am glad this game is at 4 too lol...might not finally decide until right before kickoffs.

Right now its either Dallas +1,Zona -6.5 or Jets -3

Well it comes down to either Dallas +1 or Arizona -7(thats the line on site)
Guess i have till 4 to decide...right now the lean is for Dallas. A push would not help me and god forbid Seattle scores late when down by two scores for the backdoor push.
 
Oh and if anyone is interested...Mike Francessa on WFAN in NY is having a decent year at something like 33-19..his picks for today are

One more reason i will probably take Dallas.
I am a Giants fan and if they did lose it would make all the bandwagon 'girls fans sour for missing the playoffs...that is worth it as nuts as it sounds
Besides i would probably hedge small on Philly so not all is lost.
 
That being said if Dallas does win i do win the pool and probably could expect Dallas over here in Jersey in 2 weeks.
