lets get some discussion and thoughts flowing for a couple games.... here is my opinion on the Steelers vs. Ravens game.
After being at Heinz Field to witness my Cowboys self-destruct against the Steelers, one thing became clear to me..... There is no way in hell that Joe Flacco, as good as he is already, is going to be able to pass against that Steelers defense. The Steelers depth in every position is ridiculous. The lousy receivers on the Ravens will be locked up all day by Ike Taylor, William Gay, Bryant Mcfadden, and the best slot cover man in the NFL, Deshea Townsend. The Steelers linebackers will wreak havoc on Flacco all day and force him to make rookie-like mistakes. Have fun Joe when you drop back for a pass, because your going to have James Harrison and Lamarr Woodley flying around the corner trying to take your head off. And last but not least, the Steelers have arguably the best and most VALUABLE player in all of football, Troy Polamalu. I'm convinced this guy is superanatural. Somehow he is part of every single play the Steelers defense makes. I have a true admiration and respect for the way Troy Polamalu plays the game. His heart is bigger then anyones and he is fearless. Its going to give Flacco nightmares having Polamalu flying around the field on Sunday.
I don't really feel the need to talk about the Steelers offense and the Ravens defense. Even though the Ravens defense is very good, Big Ben will get the job done like always. All he needs to do is get 17 points on the board somehow, and his defense will take care of the rest.
I also want to add one more thing. The Steelers and their fans want home field advantage throughout the playoffs more then anyone else in the NFL. They are going to play these last 3 games like they are in a wild card race, because they now how big of an advantage playing at Heinz throughout the playoffs would be.

I personally think the steelers are due for a lose or to choke! I still like them getting +1 but it makes me kinda nervous. I think they still roll this week but its going to be close

Baltimore does a much better job of protecting Flacco than Pitt does Big Ben. In a battle of elite defenses, I think this is the biggest key. Leaning on Balty.

Let me first state that I am huge Black n Gold fan. I agree greatly with BigHans. He makes a great point in the fact of protection and let's not forget the last time these two teams met. Flacco didn't play that bad. In fact, he played pretty damn good considering his experience and the environment that he was in. I lean naturally toward the steelers, but in a huge division game with great playoff implications on the line. This game is a sucker bet waiting to reel you in and gobble up your money like AIG does on Vacation.

Flacco won't be able to throw against the Steelers?????
He threw on them in his first road game as a rookie. We don't lose at home. Period. Flacco has grown up so much since that game as well. Over the last 8 weeks, kid has a 100 QB rating and 14 TD's to 3 INT's. Sick shit. Ravens/Steelers always split and they can't beat us in the charm city

It's not easy beating same team twice, especially when the teams are within 1 game of each other as is the case here, Steelers won 1st meeting, highly, highly, likely Ravens win here.
Don't take my word for it, look it up, a simple angle but very affective.

Does anybody know that the Steelers haven't won in Baltimore in a long time? It's true.
How about the revenge card? It was a close battle last time. I see this one like the Giants and Philly, they split contests. Ravens will take this one. Their offense is more explosive than the Steelers offense.

the game the ravens lost in pittsburg on MNF was almost identical to the cowboys game..the ravens gave the game away ..up by 10 late..etc this should be one hell of a game...shoulda been flexed to sunday night in my opinion..fuck last weeks shitfest ravens and skins

First off the cowboys stink and almost won the game except you have a QB who is such a choke artist I doubt he will be in the league much longer if he continues to play so bad in Dec and Jan.
On to the game this sunday are you kidding me. You are a cowboy fan and know zero about these two teams so clam up your analysis is worthless. Maybe you didnt see the last game these two played in went to OT and that was flaccos first road game on national TV. Steelers havent won in balt in seven years einstein. dont mean to bust you out this hard but your post was so bad I had to. I could go on and explain to you these two teams and why this line is a bad but Id rather you bet Pitt

He threw for 192 yards and was sacked 5 times and lost 52 yards. I guess the steelers line held up pretty good because baltimore only got to ben 3 times. Harrison went on a roll after laying flacco out last game and the only way to stop him is for one of the raven thugs to put a hit out on him.

Final score Ravens 4 Steelers 3. More important then the game line isthe total. This puppy is going UNDER. Ravens are tough defensively at home and its a big rivalry. Steeler D is stellar....should hold Ravens to a few points. I think 17 points total in this game is pushing it.

You could say the same thing about Ed Reed couldn't you?
Some good points were made in this thread for taking Baltimore.
I have to say, I haven't watched Baltimore alot this year but this Flacco kid kind of impresses me. I think Balty finally got themselves a quarterback.
100 QB rating for the last 8 games with 14 TD's and 3 INT's and he's a rookie?
I thought the days of rookie QB's coming into the NFL and playing well were over. But two of them seem to have done it this year, Flacco and Matt Ryan.

Lots of great points made in here. Have to agree with Stuckey and others about the Steelers haven't won in B-More since 2002. From a ATS standpoint Steelers +1 is very enticing but truth be told this is a total coin toss. Flacco looked great in his first Rookie start in a hostile enviroment as Heinz field and has done nothing but improve since that game. If the Ravens can avoid downfield fumbles and picks unlike the Patriots they will win. Pittsburgh being the lucky ass team that they are will capitalize on mistakes by their opponents beacuse besides lucky I must admit they are a solid team. And yes Troy Polamalu is one hell of a football player but everyone seems to overlook these two words. ED REED!!!!!!!

You are a tool. Go somewhere else. No one likes you. Not your parents. Not even your brother or sister.

No, I can't. I think Troy Polamalu is better then Ed Reed. I think Troy is a better leader and a smarter player. Don't get me wrong, Ed Reed is great, but hes not Troy. And Flacco is going to be awesome, but he loses this weekend.

Get off your Ravens high-horse. Flacco is going to be a stud for years to come, but he will lose this wekeend. And please never refer to Baltimore as the "charm city" again. Maybe the "dirtiest, most crime and murder-filled city."
