#1 Posted: 9/7/2008 6:41:20 PM Just got back from the game. 70,000 chanting that in the third quarter is all you need to know. Kid is legit. Looked so poised in the pocket. Didn't turn it over. Didn't get sacked. Checked down when he needed to, and got rid of it when it was neccesary. 40 yard touchdown run, and threw a block to spring a 50 yard reverse for a td. Getting mcgahee back next week will only help.
Our D was our D. 8 first downs. Ocho Cinco and Tj were nonexistant.

You know im rooting for my dogs from UD.
Kid looked great, coulda had a few more completions but his wrs sucked. This whole situation reminds me of Big Ben his rookie year.

#5 Posted: 9/8/2008 12:27:43 PM Respect your handicapping abilities but don't you think your a bit premature to anoint him legit after one week. Guess you didn't hear the voice of reason over the chanting 70,000 fans. Give him a chance to fuck up ! History will provide you with a ton of one week wonders in this league. We shall see how he does against an NFL defense other than the Bungles. It's not like he tore the asshole out of a top rated defense. It was Cincy my man ! |

#6 Posted: 9/8/2008 12:36:42 PM Completed 50% of his passes for 129 yards against a terrible defense. I know they rushed for over 200 yards (wouldn't you think that was the game plan coming in and that Cincy would have tried to take it away....they couldn't even stop them and they knew it was coming).
I wouldn't expect the same thing when they play a team that actually knows how to play defense. He's only starting by default.
He didn't give the game away...I suppose that's a plus. |

#7 Posted: 9/8/2008 12:38:05 PM Did I mention they scored on a busted QB scramble and a reverse.
Not saying he can't ever be good, but he'll fall on his face like 95% of QB's thrown to the wolves do. |

#8 Posted: 9/8/2008 12:38:39 PM He did well for a rookie but he's not going to win you any games against the good defenses. Matt Ryan though is the real deal. |

Watch the game before you make statements like this. There was at least 5 drops including a TD pass by Heap, and a drop from Rice who literally had all green in front of him. Ball hit him in the chest and he bobbled it, and dropped it. |

God, IF MY ASS!
Give me a fucking break. To be honest I could give two shits but this is all pretty fucking hilarious. Hey, IF there weren't 8 incompletions Romo would have been 32 for 32. IF Balt played a good team, they would have gotten there asses kicked. If is a pretty potent word.
Dude hits 50% for a buck-thirty and he's legit. whatever guys...enjoy. Balt doesn't win 7 games this year.
BTW, you guys can see a REAL QB on 12/20...IF it means anything to us at that point. It might not mean anything to you all either, but it will be for a different reason. |

#19 Posted: 9/8/2008 9:42:03 PM cowboydave, win a fucking playoff game, then come chirping.
Whens the last time your franchise won a playoff game?
I think it was before the Ravens were even around.
And, since then weve won a shitload more playoff games, and have a ring so shut your fucking mouth.
Tony Romo has never done anything except put up numbers in the regular season. That guy doesn't have an ounce of clutch in his body |

#23 Posted: 9/8/2008 10:35:03 PM I never said he is winning the super bowl, and obviously the kid will struggle throughout the year. I never claimed he was Joe Montana. All I said is he is legit. Anybody who knows football and watched the game could tell this kid has what it takes. Everybody knew about his build and his arm. The main question was his poise in the pocket and his ability to read defenses and make smart decisions. All of that was displayed on Sunday |
