#5 Posted: 12/23/2007 7:14:25 PM i don't believe in fixes, i think it's just natural they dominated and scored 28 in the first half and that they couldn't tie their shoes in the 2nd, happens to everyone |

#8 Posted: 12/23/2007 7:56:49 PM I am not sure about a fix, but one MUST consider the fact that NE was up 28 points in the first half and pretty much put the ball where ever he wanted. THEN....the second half and they cannot out one consistant dirve together and then Miami score a TD to magically get it within the nummber and NE is content to simply go 3 and punt or 4 and out. They certainly made it look like they were not going to score another point from the second drive to the end of the. I did not play it but watched it since it was the only game I got on the tube today. Just strange to me????? |

#10 Posted: 12/23/2007 8:07:50 PM agree totally with xhD
game is different when 0-0 to start and 28-0 at half
Although they were still bombing away, the urgency and mindset of team changes |

#11 Posted: 12/23/2007 11:33:21 PM New England hasn't hesitated to run up the score all season on anyone whenever they have an opportunity. Belichick has no integrity when it comes to sportsmanship. So New England goes up 28-0 by half-time, at home, in front of their fans, and doesn't score again the rest of the game???? C'mon. Does anybody REALLY believe Miami's defense made adjustments at half-time that completely shut the Patriots offense down? The truth is New England made sure Miami covered the spread. A lot of their friends and family members made a bundle today taking the Dolphins. Don't say it doesn't or couldn't happen. It DID. It just can't be proven |

#13 Posted: 12/23/2007 11:50:33 PM The point is, these guys are taking care of their friends and family members by "suggesting" that Miami "may give them a tough game"(ie. take the +21.5) They're not stupid. They knew there was no way they were going to lose to Miami, plus the home field is already locked up, and their offense is a machine. To not be able to score 1 point the entire 2nd half is preposterous! Anyone that thinks it wasn't done intentionally is a fool. Back in '85 when the Bears were in the Super Bowl, Vegas had defensive lineman William "Refrigerator" Perry at 14-1 to score a rushing TD in the game. Mike Ditka made the call to give him the chance instead of Bears great Walter Payton. Payton always resented that he never got an opportunity to score a TD in his only Super Bowl appearance. EXPLAIN THAT GAME DECISION. |

#14 Posted: 12/24/2007 12:38:11 AM your going to bring up a game back in 1985 to prove a point? Give me a break. The Patriots were trying different schemes in the second half to see how they would work out. Did you even watch the game or are you just looking at the box score? Saying this game was fixed is ridiculous. Do you really think after everything that happened with Belichick this year he is going to do that. If he wanted his friends and family to win money then he would have had them take the -22 and just scored more points if he was so capable of doing that. And that would have been less noticable. |

#15 Posted: 12/24/2007 1:10:10 AM I brought up the '85 Super Bowl because I'm from Chicago and it was known to everyone how pissed off Payton was that Ditka wouldn't give him the opportunity after all the years Payton played on struggling Bears teams. Plus the game was a route. Why the trick play? If you don't believe these things happen, you are naive. How about the most recent NBA official guilty of shaving points? Pete Rose betting on his Cincinnati Reds, the '90s Northwestern basketball team charged with point shaving. Belichick is a schemer and proven cheater. But according to you everythings on the level. GIVE ME A BREAK! "The Patriots were trying different schemes in the second half to see how they would work out.?" Against a pitiful Miami team --the worst in football? I'm sure they'd have the same effectiveness against a playoff caliber team. Yeah, right. |

#16 Posted: 12/24/2007 1:10:11 AM The 2007 Patriots are TAINTED. They cheated and they should have an asterisk (*) by all those records. |

#17 Posted: 12/24/2007 1:12:25 AM NE played the UNDER on purpose. Take a look at how much they averaged PPG. Well over 35 and the total is 43. FISHY!!!
Yes, they didn't score in the 2nd half because they were in on the fix. |

#18 Posted: 12/24/2007 1:23:26 AM hey matpat...the reason Belichick didn't tell family and friends to play the -22 and just score more points on offense is because he was on the UNDER 45. Thats why N.E. misplaced the offensive playbook the second half. Do you get it now? You get out to a insurmountable lead by halftime and regulate the playcalling the rest of the way. Then the defense allows a meaningless TD. Miami-22 and the UNDER 45. Who would have believed either? He'll get back his $500,000 fine one way or another. |

#22 Posted: 12/24/2007 4:25:11 PM I'm not saying the entire team is in on it, that would be ridiculous, but the head coaches...ABSOLUTELY. You don't need to be a genius to figure out all the different ways to pull it off. Head coaches and offensive and defensive co-ordinators control the play calling. Has anybody not seen or wondered about the conservative offensive plays called in games? Running the same play that failed over and over? or the inevitable "prevent defense" that almost always conceeds points? |

#23 Posted: 12/24/2007 5:02:55 PM let's not forget that last time around new englad was ahead by 42 at the end of the first half and was relentless again the 2nd half not even removing one starter. still, don't believe in fixes :) just any given sundays

#25 Posted: 12/24/2007 5:23:39 PM fabignale....No I would NOT try to score when I'm up 28-0 with 15 minutes left ESPECIALLY if I was Belichick and I'm manipulating the UNDER 45! You said it yourself, "esp. when your opponent can't move the ball" EXACTLY. I suppose you also believe that since its illegal, inside trading doesn't go on among stockbrokers on Wall St. too. Its also illegal to bet on sports outside of Vegas as well as with on-line sportsbooks and that doesn't happen either. Right? Belichick has already been proven to be a cheater videotaping the NY jets signals early this year. Whenever big money is involved, people can be corrupted. Get real. |
