Covers Staff:

Just an FYI,

Your site has triggered numerous threat hits to the Avast Virus Detection System over the last few days. Most of the issues/threat warnings emanate from the Community forum side of your site, although there has been the occasional hit on the constest side of things, especially the Ultimate Race section (which apparently you have discontinued unfortunately, as that was enjoyable to compete in).

In any event:

The Avast site said the URL of the malware is:

http://afe.specificclick.net/?l

I don't know if that helps you or not but it must be attatched to the pages of your site when people click on there. Most of the hits at least so far have happened on the Community/forum pages. Haven't had any other hits on the numerous various other sites visited. Just this one. Fortunately my Virus Detection system is blocking these things from happening, but others may not be so lucky. Hopefully you can fix this for the future.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Regards,

Blacksheep

Sorry I don't have Twitter. Now the problem has spread to some of the matchups and the scoreboard page. Before that wasn't an issue, until now. Basically a click on any page on this site, forums and matchups, results in a blocked virus/malware detection.

Surprised no one else has mentioned this virus detection issue, unless they have avoided this site because of it.  It seems to be happening too much now, before it was more isolated and confined to the forum section for the most part.

This was the site that Avast listed as the URL of the Malware that is being blocked and setting off the warning.

I definitely think it has something to do with the ad system though, as that seems to be the last thing to load, and when that happens the warning happens as well. But that is just conjecture on my part.

Right now I am in the Philadelphia area. Normally I am in the Mid- Florida area. I use the Internet Explorer 9 browser.

It is various ads, although I think it involves the ad delivery system moreso than a particular ad itself. And some areas of the site (most of the contest and consensus areas) remain totally unaffected. However the matchups and forum areas are laden with the malware detections.

I've been getting those bullsh*t ads that says my pc is about to crash click here to fix on a daily basis, and whatever misc speed up your pc adds, is this because of my computer cookies? I'm just using a older acer netbook that's not worth the cost of antivirus software, half of which ain't worth a damn anyways.

Google blocked mine as of today. Getting the same message as SportsMavin. Was working fine 3-4 days ago when others were having problems with Chrome. I am using I/E for this post. Live in California.

still an issue for me.  These are coming from your 3rd party ads.  I realize u get revenue off them, but get your programmer to scan them before accepting the ad space.  It doesn't take long. (from a ex web guru)

Doesn't seem to be fully resolved just yet but hopefully won't be much longer until this problem is fixed.
