Trying to understand how to read the stats that Covers providescan some one tell me what L average means ...and where Defensive yards are shown, is that the amount of yards they allow their opposition to gain, in past games or just against this team?

L Average represents "League Average".

Defensive Yards are yards allowed in all games this season.

A Defensive Stat shown represents what they allow on Average per game.

is that correct?

I need a little help understanding the Diff stats, If you could elaborate on the Diff numbers shown about, I would greatly appreciate it.

if SYR is gaining 169 yards per game, and Misou is only allowing 143 per game. so does -26.0 mean that SYR is likely to lose 26 yards in this game.

and Missouri is likely to gain 13.7 yards?

These stats are not a prediction of anything.  They are simply comparison numbers.  It allows you to quickly look and see that neither team gains much or allows much on the ground.

Right, I understand that they are comarisons.

 Example.    KANSAS STATE @ BAYLor

There is a huge difference in numbers here.

 KANSAS STATE OFFENSE VS
BAYLOR DEFENSE                   98.7

BAYLOR OFFENSE VS
KANSAS STATE DEFENSE    -213.9

When a Diff number is in black, that means that the offense is likely to over power the defense?

and when the Diff number is in negative RED, this means that the defense is likely to shutdown the offensive progress?

are my assumptions correct?

Yeah, it's just basic subtraction.

Avg. Defensive Yards allowed - Avg. Offensive Yards gained = a positive or negative number
