I actually really liked your Memphis pick, and if they would have been able to make a layup you would have been alright. You'll make the climb again.

Can you ask wagerline a question? why in the world are some games availble in some contest but not in survivor? The wizzards game i havent seen for an hour now at survivor but it was in others. does wagerline actually think they know more about betting than vegas does? So they take this game down thinking its a easy win? Maybe its a sucker play did wagerline ever think of that? who ever is deciding this rediculous tactic why don't they stop wasting there time and just gamble on these so called locks?

There is my freaking point. i know u nuts took the Wizzards line down because you thought it was a soft line. To me it was a suckers line and i was all over the bobcats. What wagerline does in these type of situation is completely foolish. You might have gotten ten suckers to take the Wizzards tonight. The oddsmakers are not stupid. They know what the heck they are doing. Leave the freaking games on the board for goodness sakes.

thanks everyone. I'll try to be as selective as I can. CYRIL -- I was thinking it would be easy to not take memphis, and I won't (i think), but tonight is tough... 1)warriors are a terrible road team 2)memphis 4-1 ATS, 5-0 SU against GS @ MEM 3)last 2 games MEM lost by 5 and by 3 (both away) 4)MEM beat GS at memphis in jan. But, I can't take em because... 1) Because of what happened to you 2) MEM 12-25 at home, 19-57 overall It took alot of will power not to take this one. GL to everyone, I'll be takin a pick soon (I HAVE TO!)

Freightdog, You should consider heavily the Atlanta Braves today. It's Smoltz vs. Glavine: a baseball classic matchup if there ever was one. If it was me who was this close I'd rather have it on a game that really matters to both players and no one has heart like these guys. It certainly beats taking a flier on, I don't know, Memphis or the Timberwolves and hope their players come out motivated for a meaningless game. Then, consider these numbers: - Since his return to starting, Smoltz has an ERA of 2.45 against the Mets. One would think he brings his A game, knows how to work some of their hitters better, whatever. He's got a unusually low ERA against an excellent team. - In his last 10 outings against his former team, Glavine's team is 3-7. Tom has posted a whopper of a 4.48 ERA against them as well. - The bullpen may be a weak point for the Braves. But the strange starting time of 4:00 should help all pitchers around the 6th inning or so, as the pitchers will be in sunlight and the batters in shade. - It's my generalization and I've got nothing but intuition to back it up. But generally, undefeated teams are always overrated. People begin to think that they can't lose. This is especially true of the Mets, who are bashing their opponents to the tune of a 31-3. But unless you believe that they're the best team of all time, you know that they aren't this good. The moneyline is off, which means nothing on Survivor, but just offering this game, which should be Atlanta -150 (if it were the middle of the season and there were no undefeated teams) is an opening for you. My credentials aren't great. You're the better gambler to make any decision. This game just jumped off the page to me is all, especially with the numbers. Good luck.

F-dog Thats stand-up of you to post. I can't say I hope you win it because I have visions of grandeur. I just think tomorrows card will be very restricted being some religious holiday and wagerline being wagerline. Don't get caught betting into a short board. 666les.

I appreciate the insight biff. I did use the info that you gave, however I did not take the pick. GL to you though, and if they win and I lose my pick you can give me a big "I told you so!" Thanks for the support 666LES, there was a pretty good card up today so I made the choice. However, I haven't posted the "why" to my picks at all during my streak, so I'm gonna keep it that way. Don't wanna jinx it.

Absolutely agree with the Florida pick. For some reason, Dontrelle is a great April pitcher (cooler weather, less distractions, Marlins are technically still "in the race") and the Phils are traditionally slow starters. The only risk is that the Marlins offense is suspect and maybe can't produce runs against a quality pitcher. There'll be no "told you so" from me, a lifetime .506 winner. My insight is not worth a lot. Best of luck.

The Cap'n is just making tonight's win all the sweeter. Even with blind picks, you'd have 1 chance in 16 of making $100,000. With baseball picks, you get a slight edge better than 50/50 by just taking the favorite so you're probably at 1 in 11. Basically, your position alone is worth about $10 K. I think professional jealousy is the only motivation for the Cap'n Crunch. Go Marlins!

Such conviction of thought (bold letters no less) with no rationale adds up to a 48.5 % chance of Phils winning, just like the line says. You can read about a new lock every day on these forums with no reasoning at all, and about half the time they're right (just like you). You can even read an intense analysis like BuffetGambler (look him up - that's not mockery, he really knows baseball/trends/percentages). Even that guy's hitting around 50/50 long term though, proving that even deep knowledge doesn't always help. The freightdog kid might actually have something going. Check the record - especially the colleges. All the more luck to him.
