And this is the problem......the six BCS conferences can completely dictate the terms that are acceptable to them. Boise must play a road game against a top 10 team without getting a chance for a home game? Why is that? Why aren't they deserving of a home and home? I don't understand this logic coach....
And by Boise, we could be talking about Utah, TCU or whoever....does Utah deserve a home and home? They are 2-0 in the BCS games they have played in. No top 10 would give them a home and home.....
The top 10 schools don't want to play these teams because a loss looks "bad" and a win isn't good enough.......and to be fair, I'm not completely sure that some of the smaller schools benefit from scheduling stronger either because one loss for them absolutely ruins their chances, whereas if you are named LSU you can lose twice and still get a national title.....the Division College Football game or FBS or whatever the hell they call themselves these days is really a joke.....it's essentially determined in August which four or five teams get a shot at the title....

Boise played on the road at Oregon last year........and won.....they played Oklahoma on a neutral field a couple of years ago......and won.......they opened a season at Georgia three or four years ago......and lost.....certainly they have earned a home and home...it's not like they never schedule anybody.

I was motivated enough to look up Boise's schedule.....out of conference games against BCS Conference Schools and locations for the last few years and next couple:
2004: Oregon State - Boise
2005: Georgia - Athens Oregon St - Corvallis
2006: Oregon St - Boise Utah - Salt Lake City
2007: Washington - Seattle
2008: Oregon - Eugene
2009 Oregon - Boise
2010 Oregon State - Boise Virginia Tech - Neutral
2011 Utah - Boise
2012 Oregon State - Corvallis Utah - Salt Lake BYU - Boise
Not murderer's row......but it isn't like they are playing total cripples every year.....and it seems a fair mix of home/away. I think with they are "deserving" of having the temerity to ask a top 10 school for a home and home.

WAC commissioner Karl Benson said Tuesday that several high-profile programs have turned down a chance to play a home game against Boise State in 2011.
Boise State — with help from ESPN, Benson said — has been shopping for a game to fill out its 2011 schedule.
Benson wasn't sure of the exact number of schools that had said no, but figured it was close to 10. The Broncos weren't asking for any games in Boise in return, he said.
"They're running into a situation where nobody will schedule them, nobody will take them," Benson said.

I wish everyone the best of luck this college football season.
Thanks,

Thanks,
and does anybody realize that they have FIVE seniors this year. only 2 starters. kyle wilson (nfl corner) and their fullback. next year they'll be SCARY. and next year they got V Tech and Oregon St on their schedule so please stop crying about scheduling.

They would easily lose to all the teams listed, and if they played oregon again.... well it would be bad

Circular logic is that you??
But seriously I read that Boise is even offering only away games and they have been turned down by a large number of BCS schools (over 20).
Nobody wants to play them.

I remember living in Boise back in 2003. They had been trying to get into the PAC 10 for some time. Something to look at is all the good coaches that come out of the program. There is some kinda magic in that system, AD Gene Bleymaier has been there for ever, it seems. They recruit who they can, and build with what they get. Not a lot of Big Name players. Not even big. They recruit for smarts and speed. They will play anyone anywhere, if only other teams have the guts to.
Oh mighty Football Gods.

This is a fact. The big boys of CFB - except some in the Pac 10 - don't dare play any teams outside their conf that might present an actual challenge. ![]()
Texas' box 2009 schedule
includes this week's opponent U Central Florida besides UTEP and UL Monroe. BSU has tried to schedule games against major colleges but no takers. BTW I'm an Oregon resident and hardcore Duck fan.

Here's some more infomation about this story from the Idaho Statesman that came out today. This was talking about BSU trying to schedule teams for the 2011 season and that at least 10 teams didn't want them...

No one is naming names, but here are some teams that have openings in 2011, according to nationalchamps.net: Michigan, Oklahoma, Arizona, Texas A&M, Alabama (though the Crimson Tide plays at Penn State in 2011), Texas, Oklahoma State
Among the teams whose schedules are full for 2011: UCLA, Penn State, Tennessee, Florida, USC
This is part of the problem with the BCS. The easiest way to get into the BCS for big-conference teams is to win games. And it doesn’t matter who you play in your non-conference games.
So why would you risk a loss by scheduling a team like Boise State? Look at what a loss to the Broncos has done to Oregon. If the Ducks had played Portland State in their season opener, Oregon would likely be ranked No. 1 or No. 2 in the country at this point.
Florida is No. 1 and the Gators' non-conference schedule, so far, includes: Charleston Southern and Troy.
This article by Yahoo! Sports Dan Wetzel shows how quickly many of the big schools have figured out the system. Texas coach Mack Brown brought in BCS gurus to help determine the best way to the title game.
College football has a serious credibility problem with the BCS. No one is buying the argument about protecting the sanctity of the regular season.
