Yup...and I'm sure you say they would win in Game 2. Game 3. and Game 4 as well. ![]()

Just a little more minutiae for my fellow gamblers; Joe West is umpiring:
The LAST 5 games he's ump'd w/either Pettite or Martinez on the mound: Away team 5-0; Overs 5-0.
Imagine that.
I'm sorry...but that has got to be the most irelevant stat of them all.

Ragingwater
Your a funny guy. Give me the exact dates and years that West umpired a game Andy Pettitte and Pedro Martinez pitched. So your saying if one of the games were in 1999 and another one was in 2001 that these stats are relevant? How about the opponents of those games? I'd like to know them too. So say Pedro pitched at the Trop every year from 2000 to 2003, wins all 4 games against the dreadful Rays while the Red Sox hammer 10 runs in each of those games...could you explain to me how that would come into affect against the 2009 Yankees?
Come on now...you have to be more specific with those stats. If those come from Pedro's "hay day" when he was unhitable in the early 2000s, how does that compare to now when he's 38 and Andy is 37?

Honestly, I could care less how they pitch (as long as the Phils win, lol); I was just throwing out information for those that may be interested. I'm glad you took the time to vet my comments (albeit, after you sh*t on 'em initially). If someone is interested in whether it'll be a high scoring game, you'd think they'd be interested in who is behind the plate? And you're right, you may need to throw all of the stats out the window being it was over 5 years ago... BUT, to answer your question:
Pedro (1 game - 2003) was against Pettite - Boston won (on the road)
Pettite's (4 games) were against: (2009) Penny (Boston) - NY won (on the road), (2007) J. Shields - NY won (on the road), (2003) see above, & finally against your boy (2002) CC - NY won on the road.
Oh and yeah... I try to entertain. Thanks. I'll be here all week.

I just realized I didn't make that a big key. I did in another thread but forgot to do it in this one. The IDEAL scenario would be if Pettitte went 7 innings and handed the ball to Mo for 2 innings. A Yankee Fan's dream.
