|From years of gambling sports, I'd learned that your first guess on who's gonna win/cover is usually not the winning one. When it looks too obvious, go to the other side. Last night, I went for 3 quick picks:

1. BROOKLYN's gonna kill ATLANTA with no Josh Smith. I knew it was a trap and picked ATL instead. Won that.
2. NO's been red hot as of late and I thought they can beat anyone in this league. Too obvious, so I picked Boston (Since Boston was at home, I thought it would a safe bet too). NOPE.
3. Heat's gonna kill GSW with no Stephen Curry. Sound just like the Nets/ATL trap so I picked GSW to win. Lost that.
I had leans on others and most of them fell too
Chicago didn't cover.
Indy lost out right.
Red hot Portland lost to Cavs? WTF?
You are right, these players with high contracts are protecting their bodies and themselves. I think most of the players knew ahead of time who's gonna be crown champion beforehand.
Example: If I was playing for Portland and I see other teams like OKC, Spurs, LAC, Lakers in the conference, why would I even bother to risk my health to compete when I knew no matter what, I won't beat these teams? I can't win a championship with the team I'm with.
Yes, you should always play with competitive nature and spirit but for what? I have a big contract, I'm guaranteed no matter how good or bad I play. Why bother?
