#1 Posted: 2/23/2012 12:04:59 PM 93-57 (+39 UNITS)
Yesterday 1-0 (+2 UNITS) I actually made an additional .825 units on The Citadel ML but it is not reflected in my record. I see a lot I like but trying to be careful here. I am locking one in that I really like.
Florida State +1.5 (1 UNIT) - They won at Cameron already and it wasn't because Duke played poorly. I could be adding more later in the day. I just really like what FSU can do on the defensive end against Duke. The ONLY reason Duke is favored is because they are such a big public team. Duke has always struggled with FSU's athleticism and that won't change tonight. Duke will have to shoot lights out to win tonight and I'll bet that they don't.
Leans:
Bama/Arkansas UNDER 133
Gonzaga -6.5
Davidson -17
GA Southern +8.5 (I would be on it if it was still 9.5/10)
Murray St -3.5
Western Illinois +13.5
My favorite is Bama under and Murray State. |

#7 Posted: 2/23/2012 3:19:18 PM Hey Yacker- What do you see happening in the Bama/ Ark game tonight? I'm high on Arkansas at home and think they take out some frustration tonight. Bama appears to be starting some young guys too. Thanks in advance for your response.

#9 Posted: 2/23/2012 3:21:46 PM NO PLAY on the Bama/Arkansas game. Quick thoughts...Bama matches up well with Arkansas. They should clean it up on the glass and their half court defense should frustrate Arkansas. Bama has been struggling to score but Arkansas is awful on defense and the style of play should allow the young players that Bama has to get some good looks in transition. I think Bama wins IF they can take care of the ball. We'll see. |

#11 Posted: 2/23/2012 3:50:50 PM Davidson -17 (1 UNIT) - Laying a ton of chalk here. Why? Elon is sucking wind on the defensive end. Elon started conference play at 8-4 but have lost 4 straight and during that stretch they are giving up 80ppg! Ouch! Now they go to Davidson who is the most efficient offensive team in the league. Furthermore Davidson is coming off a blowout loss to Wichita State at home. This is their final home game of the season and they can clinch an outright Southern Conference Championship with a win. I expect an absolute beatdown. That is enough for me to make a play but keep in mind that Davidson is also the most efficient defensive team in conference play which means an 87-60 type game tonight. |

With Green & Mitchell out , not to mention Ark is 17-2 at home and much improved team, Huge play of mine is Arkansas -2. JMO. Good luck tonight to all..... Like Duke myself, but you never know against this Florida State team, its basically whoever shows up. Duke is taking care of business as of late....

DUDE EVERYONE KNOWS GREEN AND MITCHELL ARE OUT! One is a girl and the other one is spending the rest of the semester in the 400 unit. This is a great matchup for Bama for the reasons I mentioned above. Is it a sure thing? Of course not but telling me Arkansas is going to win because Green and Mitchell are out is why 70% of the plays are on Arkansas. |

#14 Posted: 2/23/2012 4:28:24 PM Western Illinois could be a play. This team lost by 1 at home to SD State earlier in the year. Now they are a 13 point dog on the road. South Dakota State is beating the hell out of people at home. Where is the motivation tonight? SDSU has #2 seed locked up in the Summit and Western Illinois will fall somewhere between the #3-7 seed in the tourney. WIU will play slow as hell and asking a team that has nothing to play for to cover that number is tough. I am still looking but I just wanted to give my thoughts.
There are a couple of more I am looking at!

#15 Posted: 2/23/2012 4:56:25 PM Common thoughts on the Bama/Arkansas game:
1. Bama does not have Green or Mitchell. These two guys averaged 15ppg and 7rpg last year (Alabama was the only team in the country that had two guys with those numbers coming back this year).
2. Arkansas is 17-2 at home. Actually they have only lost 1 time in Bud Walton. The other home loss was to Houston in Little Rock I believe.
3. Arkansas will be ready to play after getting blown out by Florida at home.
4. Bama can't score for garbage!
My responses (remember that I am not playing this game but if I see many more post about how easy this one looks for Arkansas I might):
1. Those two morons are two of the most selfish person I have ever seen on a team. Green is a girl and Mitchell belongs in the looney bin. They are talented players but they were a cancer. Green may return this weekend but Mitchell is done for the year. It's a GOOD thing for the team that they aren't playing. Maybe not for wins and losses but it is for the chemistry of this team.
2. They are good at home but the only win that impressed me was the one over Vanderbilt. Vanderbilt was in a look ahead to Florida but it was still a good win and one where I had my money on Arkansas. Their next best win was over Mississippi State. Solid team for sure but they don't play defense and gave up 98 to Arkansas. That isn't happening tonight!
3. They may be ready but the reason they got blown out is because they don't play defense! They go for the steals and try to create tempo. They don't rebound for garbage and they give up a lot of easy looks. Before the Florida game they gave up 65 points to South Carolina at home...the Cocks suck on offense!
4. See #3 - Bama will get some good looks and will likely be able to score in transition as well. This game to me is about the Bama defense and their ability to get the tempo they want. Bama scored 72 in the first meeting and managed to only shoot 2-15 from 3PT range.
Just my thoughts!!! |
