A lot of unknowns for Vandy (OL, DT and LB).  That said, not sure if it's correct to assume that those replacing Vandy's departing players can not get it done against an ordinary Miami(O) team that was lost on offense in 2007 (19 ppg in the defensively challenged MAC).  Vandy is solid at QB and RB, and if they can get anything out of their new OL, Vandy will score points.

Don't see Miami having a lot of success against Vandy's veteran secondary; so, the Red Hawks will need to run the ball sucessfully to score against the Dores.  The problem is that Miami has no returning RB that even ran for a 100 yards on the season in 2007.

Also, in what likely will be a tight game, I would give the nod to Bobby Johnson who has beaten the likes of Steve Spurrier, Houston Nutt and Jim Grobe on the road over Shane Montgomey who has not done much with the Miami (O) program after Terry Hepner left for IU.

Impossible to have strong feeling on this game unless you are getting reports from camp as to how Vandy's OL is coming together or how Miami's RBs look, but if I had to make a play on this game now, I would take Vandy (especially if I can get 3) as a dog and may also take a look at the under.

bookieassassin,

I was quoting the post right above mine. Not sure what you were getting at with your post, but I think it validates mine a little. If Miami hasn't hosted an SEC team since 1920, then I would guess virtually all of their contests have been away games vs. the SEC. I just thought a nearly .500 record vs. SEC teams where Miami was playing on the road means they have been at least competitive in those games. This would mean Miami has not been historically overmatched against the SEC.

I just thought that stat proves the point that the players Miami gets are not that inferior to the players SEC teams get, especially if you are talking about Vandy.

Gold... pure gold.

So, you see, Miami has a record of posting poor results at home against SEC teams.

(Lies, damn lies... and statistics)

Does anyone know if Radabaugh or Belton is starting at QB? I went to high school with Belton, if he starts Vandy will be my play, if Radabaugh starts, I will lean toward Miami... Any idea?

Radabaugh was named started out of Spring camp. Dont think there was any talk of competition (understandibly, there always is) but no QB controversy heading into Fall camp.

Ill double check

I hope everyone is satisfied with this game.  What a bummer   could have made dough but I still came up $5 bills today.  As the season progresses though look for Vandy to fall back to the cellar and Miami will rise up in its conference.   Good Luck all!!
