I agree with you there. I remember that 8-5 game or something like that against the Jets.

Jaromir Jagr

All of these guys 40+ and put up at least 54 points.

only Kings up for unrestricted free agency in this off season are Dustin Penner, Jarret Stoll and Colin Fraser.

sounds from Penner's comments during the Kings Stanley Cup parade that he learned a lesson from after he was on the Ducks 2007 Cup team and then signed with the Oilers for big bucks and was miserable there. IF Kings General manager Dean Lombardi doesn't try to "low ball" these guys, I'm sure they will all be back next season.

I would think that esp Stoll would be a priority for Lombardi. he has turned into one of the best faceoff men and defensive forwards in the league. for some reason  http://stats.nhlnumbers.com/teams/LAK?year=2013 did not list the Penner, Stoll and Fraser 2011-12 salaries but I'm sure that at least Stoll will be looking for a substantial raise. hopefully non of them will make the mistake Penner made the summer of 2007.

Hopefully my Rangers make a run at either Suter or Weber

and get Rick Nash.

We need a scorer bad

loafs need forwards, centres, defence and a goalie.  So naturally, they'll sign perennial underachiever luongo, an assistant coach and hire a new trainer.  Bunch of losers

checked http://www.hockeyzoneplus.com/salaries/4429 and they show Jarret Stoll made $3.4 million per year the last two seasons. his recent high was $4.1 million in 2008-09. probably Lombardi couldn't justify more than $4 million for his position.

same site shows Dustin Penner made $4.25 million the last 5 years mostly because of the Oilers deal. I would say he's priced about right with those numbers

Colin Fraser made $825K the last two seasons. he had 2 goals and 6 assist in 67 regular season games and 1 goal 1 assist in the playoffs. he did average about 9 minutes per game in the playoffs. I'm not that knowledgeable about his play BUT seems he's a "grinder" who is fairly priced around $1 million.

in any case, Lombardi is going to have to find some money to pay Jonathan Quick. he made $1.8 million last season, down from $1.9 in 2010-11. he doesn't become an RFA until the end of next season BUT I doubt the Kings are going to do a Billy Wirtz or Harold Ballard  and try and "slow play" his salary for next year. I'm sure his agent will be looking for at LEAST close to Lunogo, Fleury or Bryzgalov money and contract length. a good compromise would probably be a raise to at least $3 million for next season with the understanding that goes to the $5 to $6 million range IF he has another stellar year.

I think this years UFA class is very weak save for Suter and Parise. Perhaps I scoured the list too quickly.

There are a lot of serviceable d-men available, but I can't think of any other true impact players besides Suter or Parise. I suppose some team will take a look at Semin...

I could see Hosersharks UFA Dominic Moore getting some offers. at $1.1 million he's "a nice price" for an all-around player who is excellent defensively and can score some. I'm really suprised the Bugs shipped him to San Hoser. I would definately take him as a defensive "upgrade" on the Penguins.

the Devils Alex Ponikarovsky kind of reconstituted his career this season esp during the playoffs. @ $1.5 million I would take a chance. he would look good on a wing with Geno Malkin and would add some needed size to our forwards.

I aloos think you could get some "takeout" offers for Red Wings RFA's Justin Abdelkader and Darren Helm. they are definately two "energy" guys on the RW's

add the Rangers Brandon Prust @ $800K IF your a team that needs a tough guy with some skills. same for the Senators Jesse Winchester @ $750 for those looking for a defense and PK specialist.

I think the Capitals "Seaman" Semin is headed to the KHL unless he's willing to take about a 50% wack on that $6.7 million to stay in the NHL. NO WAY the guy is worth more than $3.5 million and with his recent performances, THAT is a stretch. IF the Russian Oligarchs want to over pay for a Russian NHL "star"  just to prove a point, they are free to have at it.

according to Darren Dreger Jagr plans on testing free agent market.

Rink I could see a desperate team overpaying for Semin

Apparently Evander Kane doesn't want to re-sign with the Jets.

they would have to be REALLY desperate at THAT price

and I was wrong about JJ when he came back from the KHL. would like to see my pennies make an offer IF it's NOT a cap buster. I was very suprised by his play in Philadelphia last season.
