BradyWearsUGGZ, here's what I posted yesterday in pucku27's thread. It was the only thread in which I mentioned the Heat-Bobcats game:
Last year, the Heat opened the season on Christmas Day with a 105-94 win in Dallas. After a day off, they faced the Celtics in their home opener. Like yesterday's game against the Thunder, it was a highly-charged playoff rematch. The Heat won it, 115-107. Also like yesterday, the Heat had to board a plane afterwards for an unwanted trip to beautiful downtown Charlotte, North Carolina. And like today, the Heat were installed as 10.5-point favorites in a game they weren't too interested in to begin with. That night, the Heat came out flatter than Taylor Swift, falling behind 32-20 after one and 60-45 at the half. Forced to get serious, the Heatles held the toothless 'Cats to ten 3rd quarter points, and eventually escaped the Time Warner Cable Arena with a 96-95 win after D Wade sank a shot with 2.9 seconds left.
So we have a freakishly similar situation a year later. The question is, will anyone on the Heat coaching staff recall this near-embarrassment and remind the team why they can't afford to sleepwalk through the first half of this game?
Did that really sound to you like I was calling on the Bobcats to cover??
