Jordan Schafer is not in the Astros' lineup Tuesday against the Mets due to a left oblique strain.
Justin Maxwell is starting in center field on Tuesday night. It's not clear how long Schafer will be out, though most oblique strains require a couple of weeks to heal. He's batting .276/.351/.356 with two homers, eight RBI and eight steals this year.
Mike Nickeas is unavailable Tuesday due to the flu.
The Mets are discussing the possibility of adding an emergency catcher for Wednesday's afternoon tilt. Nickeas is batting .188 with a .503 OPS in seven games played.
Shin-Soo Choo (hamstring) is again out of the Indians' starting lineup on Tuesday night.
Choo hasn't played in a week because of a left hamstring tightness and still hasn't been cleared to run the bases. If he doesn't make progress within the next few days, the Indians may be forced to place him on the disabled list. The move can be made retroactive to April 25, so he wouldn't miss much time.
